  1. Anyone ever beat this game? I'm stuck on level 12....
  2. I've never seen one, and I doubt one exists. Someone probably cut & paste the 4-switch control panel over the original 6-switch picture. Speaking of the system box, take a good look at the pictures showing people holding what looks like a paddle controller....except that it's not. It's smaller than a paddle, and square-shaped. Also, the cord comes out in the center of it... Anyone know what the heck these controllers are, and if they actually exist or are simply marketing props?
  3. Merlin's Walls Had a chance to pick up a copy at PC, at it was well worth it. Only up to level 5 so far (the "strange" layout makes it a bit challenging, since the corners aren't true 90 degrees....)
  4. The NG article mentions that Mike Mika is doing Kickman, and that he and Chris are writing the 2600 Programming book....
  5. That's a great trick! I'll include it on my Easter egg list, and credit your discovery (can you email me with your name? Thanks.)
  6. The version on his site appears to be an older version than the pic shown here.
  7. *Sigh* Just can't see to get this link posting to work..... Here's the site: http://www.metroactive.com/papers/metro/09...nell2-9937.html
  8. I saw on your website that you had some early screen shots of Yar's, and noticed that one showed a screen with 2 Qotiles on it. I didn't see them on any of the levels - are they still in the game somewhere? Btw, what was the deal with Telegames? I thought Hasbro (or now Infogrames) had the rights to the 2600 library)...
  9. Check out KLOV: http://www.klov.com/S/Starship_I.html I have one on Ebay now: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?V...item=1141890122
  10. I think Tempest is right - this 'robsterman' definitely seems to have a split personality, or a very short memory. I just read some of the threads on DP involving him - it's no surprise to me why Joe banned him (he didn't simply "leave" - he was kicked out), and I'd be willing to bet my whole collection that it wasn't simply because he slagged the site or the guide book. The guy really seems to enjoy stirring things up for no apparent reason, and I see the same thing happening here. People like that are referred to as "trolls", which is exactly what this character is, and exactly what AA doesn't need.
  11. Larry Gelberg (the programmer) wrote to Tim/2600 Connection way back in issue #40 and mentioned some facts about the game - one being the Easter egg revealing his initials.
  12. > Just in case Scott may have failed to obliterate every last trace of irony from Crossbow's amusing thread... Just merely stating the obvious. Btw, how's you emulator "bug" fix going?
  13. Does anyone have a scan of the end label for this one? I heard that the game title is printed in a "graphics" style, like some of the Stargate releases. (*posting irony-free messages since '98!)
  14. The (Pepsi) invaders can't win in Coke Wins because they never actually land (ending the game). So you either win or it's a stalemate
  15. Joe Santulli posted this on his website board (www.digitpress.com), who's information is a just a "bit" more reliable than say this robstarman character.....
  16. Copies (professionally boxed!) are going to be sold at this year's Classic Gaming Expo show.
  17. I did a small comparison article on the two versions for the 2600 Connection, back in #31. There's a number of differences between the two, but as someone else noted, the ROM version that has been circulating around the net is the prototype. I'm currently working on an interview with Mark Hahn, and one of the questions I asked him was why the detailed title screen was dropped- he said it was due to memory contraints (which is a shame since it's much better!). I'm guessing it was the same reason why the prototype version of Millipede looks much better than the release...
