  1. The Asteroids variant is on both versions of the SGANB CDs. On version 2 it's track 64, or look in the NTSC/Starpath/Prototype folder - it's Meteroid.bin. On version 1, I don't know what audio track it is (there's no listing in the manual and the CD cover only lists up to 59 - there's actually 63 tracks) but if you look in the NTSC folder, it's SUICID23.

  2. The owner of that room is a complete slob.  Why go through the trouble of collecting only to just randomly toss all your crap around the room?

Totally. Looks like he needs to double his area. He should think about finishing off his basement and putting everything down there, or start giving it away to collectors who are more serious about it ;)

  3. I'd guess that it was done intentionally. If the (original) game sit idle long enough to go into the color cycling mode, the game will end at that instant. I'm 99% sure the color-cycling code doesn't inherently do that b/c there are a number of games can go into that mode w/o ending like that.

  4. This bit in the ad blurb is preposterous, as far as a marketing ploys go:

"...allowing for clearer graphics, brighter colors and more intense gameplay."

I'm sure the 7800 hardware display output is sharper by nature, if you compared any 2600 game running on both the 2600 and 7800. I still don't see how "reshuffling" the bank-switching routines would affect the display in any way (meaningful or otherwise), but I know it certainly does not result in more intense gameplay. At $45 (!) each, I'll stick with playing them on a real 2600 (via a Cutle Cart).

  5. On the rooster ranch screen, if the pointer on the left side of the screen is at the top and you push up, the game crashes. Same if it's on the bottom (and you push down). I'm using a 2600 JR. Anyone else notice this problem?

  6. FYI, there are a few errors on that list (ex. Warshaw didn't work on the A-Team variant of Saboteur, Domurat wasn't a programmer - just a graphics artist, Bushnell didn't program Secret Quest, etc..)
