  1. The way that people talk about not being able to unsee something or require eyebleach is really amusing.  Right up to the point where you view something for yourself that nobody should ever have to.

Evil is real and the people who practice it do not deserve breath.

Happens a lot in this world.  So much so my work has a class on what to do when encountering a company we work with that has ties to such activity (and how to look for it).  :(

Wow, whatever you saw, I'm sorry with you.

There is some evil in this world.  Realized a different type tonight and in that I understand.

  3. The fine folks at @ZeroPageHomeBre showed the first working breaths of the #FujiNet for the #Atari2600, which extends #PlusCart with powerful networking. Shown here playing #FujiNet 5-card-stud from the Game lobby! #retrogaming #retrocomputing

(yup, that's right fellas, cooperative cross-platform networking and gaming, even on the Atari 2600!)

Networking with the Atari 2600... wow!

Very interesting advertising done here.   In a time where sex was used to sell items, how to sell baby products?   Get a young soft woman, wearing soft clothing and softly nomming a cookie on a stick? to advertise how soft a product is?

An interesting approach for sure.  Also effective!  I certainly remember this product.

  5. Holy crap, changing a tire is hard. I don't even have the stupid thing off and I'm already exhausted.

  6. Had plenty of fun with the Analogue Lynx-Adapter. First game done with save-states: Rygar: a solid 8/10 - precisely the kind of game I missed having (on the Lynx) as a teen in the 90ies.

Now that is what I've wanted all along.  Thanks for telling me about that.

  8. Hello all from Dallas, TX, home of the Oasis Radio station (New Age and Lite Jazz station that is no more as of a month ago), kept alive in tribute in the Newton MessagePad Servers!

A wonderful NPDS (Newton Personal Data Sharing Server) that I started in like 2017 and Sylvain made pop visually keeps running!

"Keep the green" as we Newton users say and listen into the night!

I did a lot of clever things back then.  :P

  10. I keep trying to order the 400 mini but it feels like bad medicine. I have 800XLs, I have 5200s, I have a GSP, and unlike the 2600+ this one doesn't even take cartridges. I don't see anything here that an emulator can't do.

I will be ordering the CXStick and the CX78+ though, along with new games.

I think the Mini 400 is awesome for someone that does not already have an 8-bit, or looking for the 8-bit experience with a more updated video connector.

I thought about getting one and BBSing with it, but then realized that when I plug a regular USB keyboard, the experience is really kinda lost and might as well use a regular modern computer with emulator.

Statement is more based on actual cases rather than pessimism.  At any rate, hopefully the more immediate problem is handled soon.  :)

"dropping bombs on buildings, tanks and battleships will do that! "  Should be able to do that for years (like the original sticks) not just three games.  :D

As much as I love the Atari 400, I think the best translation would have been in a XEGS design.  That one you had to plug up a keyboard, same with this one.   XEGS might not be as popular a look, but was the most practical with a deteched keyboard for the Atari 8 line.

(Thinks).  How good is the USB Atari joystick that comes with it?   I can usually break modern Atari joystick on the third game of Blue Max.

I thought, if this was legit, which I can't get Arcade1Up to confirm, I would get a X-Men Arcade just for the game element (not build the whole cabinet.)
