  1. Oh now that is nice! What was the story behind this?
  2. I have a VAM1202 coming in for the replacement laser. They are all over ebay, about according to the thread about a lot of duds out there. That should be here next week. I bought new rubber bumpers, which I hope to find before the laser comes in. (Looks around) AHh... found it! So that leaves the specialized parts and here was the pricing and other info on those: A little bit for such small pieces of plastic, but vintage. Really glad we have Best Electronics. Love the brown tape with "Atari" he ships with. Makes the experience all the more retro classy.
  3. Original Article... https://getpocket.com/explore/item/astronomers-creep-up-to-the-edge-of-the-milky-way-s-black-hole?utm_source=pocket-newtab&fbclid=IwAR38MAHC-04odaGe0TYPfjXoZqetW7_xJ_A9RQZjnGdMPNhmugpqvfHXvy8
  4. You know, I think you're right. Super Burnout I think the thrill is how you can hug the turns. Atari Karts that just isn't there. Also what got to me about Atari Karts vs. Merlin Racing (Same company but on the Nuon) is that the power ups are on the track (hard to see) and really aren't that great. (Merlin Racing got MUCH better). How is World Tour Racing in comparison to Super Burnout in steering at controls?
  5. Nothing cooler than Atari in Japanese script. Got this keychain from a local GameStop.
  6. Need help from someone in the UK.   Trying to have something shipped but they (in the UK) will not ship to the United States.  I will cover all expenses.

Give them a shot.  I've used them before for exactly the scenario you're describing, and have no complaints regarding their service.

Good advice.   I have that as a plan B.

  7. So when I got my Jaguar in '99 a friend of mine had me get him a Jaguar and he's had two sets of kids growing up playing the Jaguar. He said the other day they hooked up the Jaguar to play the one day they play over and over and over again: Super Burnout !! They have quite a few games on the Jaguar, but that is the one they gravitate back to. Wondering if they'd like Atari Carts? Shame World Tour Racing is not on a cartridge.
  8. So for those of us who are WKRP, and we are sticking to the original crew for this one, there have been discussion of Jennifer or Bailey over the years. As a kid Jennifer was obviously the hot one and Bailey was the nerdy one, and mean, glasses!! Arrgg!! As Not Another Teen Movie joked, oh no, glasses!! That is uncureable!! Of course, secretly, just like Velma and Daphne, we migrated to the one with the glasses because the Jennifer and Daphne's of the world were... unobtainable? Out of our league? So the nerdy girls became more the focus for us nerds. Same is true for Ginger and Mary Ann in Gilligan's Island. We gravitated to Mary Ann. At some point a gorgeous blond friend of mine who just happened to be pretty (so the popular girls thought she was another of the pretty girls) but also a nerd let me in on a little secret: The Jennifers, Gingers, and Daphnes were all people (and not some higher being). Shock! She also let me know that, for example, in college there were the women who had a skill set for getting what is commonly called the "MRS Degree". They were almost courtesans in that they get skilled in hair, make up, clothes, conversation, and what not to marry well off. That was their goal and they built that skillset. But all this to say THAT is their skill set to some intelligent women. That was the story related in the late 90s. The bottom line of this is to say, Velma or Daphne, Jennifer or Bailey, all were great women there. So today someone posted an awesome picture of Bailey in the WKRP group on Facebook: So always a fan of Bailey, but there were comments like "Bailey was wayyy hotter than Jennifer". I did a complete rewatch of WKRP (and New WKRP) last year, and the story arc of Jennifer is an interesting one. But the head strong secretary while pushes off the advances of Herb Tarlek, she still cares for him as a co-worker. She cares for all she works with and pulls favors to help all at some point. A beautiful lady throughout. So my thoughts on Jennifer or Bailey? Ultimately loved the character development of both throughout the series.
  9. I think what makes the game so fun is that the game's theme is ridiculous. "It's a toy car driving around a living room driving past... I think that's a cat". And so on.
  10. Like Tempest 2000, Doom, Joust, Raiden, Bubsy, Zool, and variety of other original, ST ported, and homebrew games on the Jag. Among many, also Club Drive. Checkered Flag... pretty game but not a fan.
  11. Now that is a fun game, especially two player.
  12. Finding the Lynx had about all the pins for some reason. Stun Runner tempts me, but I *HAD* to get this one. If you have other pins in your collection, feel free to show them here.
  13. These are a real joy to see. Honestly, not many sightings of Jaguar VidPro cards from the various collections I've looked at.
  14. Oh that's awesome, thank you! Standard back of the box for the back, and love the front cover example.
  15. Hey JagMod, would it be possible to get a higher quality picture of one of those front and back?
  16. Thanks for the invite. Sure, sounds like fun. So when is this kicking off?
  17. So collecting everything Bubsy got me started on collecting the E3 and video game promotion enamel and metal pins. Then while see what Zool had out there (having found about all I could for Bubsy) I found the Zool: Ninja of the Nth Dimension pin! (Update hours later...) There is a Rayman pin. looks like bigger in scale than the ones above. That one is on the way. And so far no Kid Kleets /Soccer Kid pin. But will naturally keep looking. What else is out there I wonder? Cannon Fodder? Didn't see one for that yet. But one for the Worms franchise, luckily fairly available.... Who else am I missing as far as mascots and characters go? Looked for Dizzy which have been recently ported to the Jaguar. Spread to the action games? Kasumi Ninja, Ultra Vortek, Wolfenstein 3D... nothing yet. But no surprise to find Doom. Naturally the Doom logo was out there, but so was the character one... About all I can find for now. if you find other character pins related to those found on Jaguar games let me know and I'll add it and the finder's credit here!
  18. It's funny but I originally did the 2600 sounds as a joke. There were so many others, the Atari 8-bit being the first one I did and favorite, that were better. So figured I'd throw in the 2600 to help make the set complete to represent all the other Atari consoles. But the Atari 2600 was actually pretty good and ... better than the Atari ST version which is just sad. And Arkanoid was fun. A lot of sounds to match up on that one.
  19. Ordered the drive mech, the bumpers, now just need to order from Best Electronics (maybe) a drive latch and the stick that triggers the latch switch. Yeh, this is a parts CD player that was pretty picked over, but powers up and displays! (I do have another working model.) (hours later) Was able to reach Best Electronics and order the missing pieces. Reminds me of the time I fixed up a Portfolio from a thrift store that was missing about... everything.
  20. All sounds like good reasons to me. I liked the original fan game of Tetris .... or was it called JagTris, for the music.
  21. Now now, we all know it's the prince of purrrsonality IT's !!! But seriously... This was my first thought. Pac-Man. Never crazy about the game, though I really liked 2600 Pac-Man. But the character was fun. All the merchandise and the cartoon series. Adventure was amazing. If not the block then the duck dragon would be the mascot.
  22. My research books for the Zool Fan Wiki
  23. Started a thread is for Zool fans on the English Amiga Board and we would like to hear from you on anything related to Zool. Pictures, merchandise, collections, etc! https://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?p=1450940#post1450940 And inviting all to check out and add articles to the Zool fan wiki... https://zool-the-alien-ninja-from-the-nth-dimension.fandom.com/wiki/Zool:_The_Alien_Ninja_from_the_Nth_Dimension_Wiki More on Zool and other mascots on the Jaguar soon!
