Nuon Game System Talk & Discussion
doctorclu replied to doctorclu's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I might get your help though on the debugging. The controls on the Atari 800 emulator for Nuon don't exactly work right. Want to see if we can get that working. So my story for Iron Soldier 3 was a long one. Picked up a 2300 in like 2001-2002 but by then the card that came with it was already expired. Oh yeh that was for Tetris... nevermind! So I did order for like $150 a Tetris and Iron Soldier 3 combo through some guy on Atariage I want to say. The package was lost in the mail. Guy refunded half the amount, and the postal carrier was made to pay the other half. I didn't have Tetris till a few years ago, but I got ahold of a copy of Iron Soldier 3 fairly quick, like around 2002-2003. We had picked up the 2300 for a friend, and I had the N2000. Found Iron Soldier 3 played better on the 2300 so friend offered to trade. Why I have the 2300 now. And few years ago I sold my rarer Nuon titles. I think I would like to pick up a new copy of Iron Soldier 3 for that 28 page manual at the very least. How about you? (And others can chime in on their Iron Solider 3 tales) -

This is all amazing Carl. I was just thinking after seeing this on the Jaguar forum "This needs to go on that Nuon thread we have here" and well, it was already here. Still got my 501 and 2300 Nuons, and could probably use an original copy of this again. Never had the manual so that will be nice to see. And how nice this will look on a shelf with the Jaguar Iron Soldier 1 and 2. -
Sounds very much like the G4 Mac Powerbook from 2003. I turn that on, it thinks and thinks. I try various buttons (usually space bar) and if I hear the hard drive accessing and eventually a "pop" sound as the speaker loads as it goes to the next screen, I'm IN! Well, after another minute or so of fully loading. Why I am thankful to Linkovitch for updating the Skunkloader so I could run it on a regular more modern 2015 MacBook Pro. I used the same 2003 laptop for years as "it worked". Worth the trouble of upgrading.

64,250 with the v.4 rom.
-
Oh so THAT's what it was doing. Cool to know.
-
I know what you mean. Still, impressive score! And we've all had a hand in making this game better in the end. Seriously? 😮 One transfer took 40 minutes? I've got a laptop from 2002 (Mac G4 PowerBook) and even it only takes maybe 30 seconds. How old is that laptop?

I would love to see what you did with the game. RESET!

Cruizin' Discord - Paws on Fire (Extras) - November 2020
doctorclu posted a blog entry in Bubsy Bobcat Fan Blog
So this morning a shout out was going out to Awesomehaig and Mayan People who have been two people who have put some love into the Bubsy Bobcat Wiki. This is an ongoing labor of love of many Bubsy fans. Today's article was inspired by them. Over on the Officious Bubsy Fan Group on Discord there has been wonderful showing of things that Honza 55 44 has discovered on the latest Bubsy game "Paws on Fire". While there has been much uncovered, such as the fact shown from earlier game trailers that the first boss was actually supposed to be Poly and Ester, the Woolie Queen: But most exciting for me, and for those helping on the Bubsy Fan Wiki, are actual names of the enemies in Paws on Fire. DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!! They are... Exciting stuff. Honza has done some great sleuthing into this latest game, and hopefully we'll add more in the future. Wrapping this up, how about some art. Bubsy fans are always drawing great art, and finding art! I tried my hand at 3D printing the Busby "Games Done Quick" award pattern. It had challenges but not a bad first go. Speaking of art, some art done over Twitch... Loved this one... There is a lot of good art out there. Good time to be a Bubsy fan. Also for those that are looking for a Jaguar to play "Fractured Furry Tales" there is currently an auction for a complete system and Bubsy for a nickel short of $350. It is like they had us in mind. Alright, wrapping this up for the Bubsy Wiki editors to read. You all take care and stay safe. -

Cruizin' Youtube - Woolie Strikes Back (Voice Clips) - December 2020
doctorclu posted a blog entry in Bubsy Bobcat Fan Blog
Good morning Bubsy fans, long time no see. * In my tooling around and enjoying the Bubsy goodness on the interwebs, I enjoy what other fans find. Hey, this is a FAN blog afterall right? So this one goes out to Xinny for finding this. From the author's perspective this voice actor, who I hope we learn the name of at some point, is one of the best portrayals of the Bubsy character. Some say it’s Vic Mignona, some say Dan Castellaneta, some say Brian Drummond. IMDB seems to point to Dan, so time will tell as it often does. This voice actor, and the twitter Bubsy actor at the time, had a great upbeat humor, still full of himself as Bubsy tends to be, but more chill and less annoying. Notice the word "less" is said here. So the performance was more enjoyable, less grating. Bubsy The Woolies Strike Back - Bubsy's voice clips.mp3 * So to be honest for one of the authors of this blog (only there is one writer currently but other "staff") well in current world time is a blur. September was written, then October whizzed by, and as I said "Hey, that was October..." well, November whizzed by. As the writer Douglas Adams of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" once said "I love deadlines and that sound they make when they whiz by." Can relate! Speaking of time, our dear Bubsy friend, fan, and Bubsy cosplayer, Rusty Everhart had a birthday a few days ago. And when he did he got this Bubsy cake! That is SUPER cool. Well Happy Birthday from us here at the Bubsy Fan Blog! More to come soon! -
You'll find a Skunkboard, or the SD cart before too long I'm pretty sure.
-
So for those looking like I was, the game can be downloaded in this area and played on a Skunkboard. And I have my addition of 9,950 points.
-
Oh yeh... I guess I DID know that. With no drive to play either game I had just forgotten.
-
Nice! Playing that new rom now, so far so good.
-
Fun game so far.
-
If nothing else I'll see if I can get some builds LinkoVitch patiently built for me running on my Catalina machine sometime today. ------ (55 minutes later) Yep, got JCP running with Catalina now. Sending instructions by PM.
-
Yeh it is. Sorry was the best I could find in a search.
-
Well, if you wanna spend a bit...
-
Throwing my first one in, more to come!
-
That is so cool, thanks for the tip. Hopefully will print them soon.

I would like to start this with a fun pattern I found... the 2020 Dumpster Fire... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4648427 But seriously, one of the patterns I've wanted to do for a while was this Archon set, which the link is currently down... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:187973 Does anyone have this pattern saved?

Toys "R" Us VIDPro Display Card .. for Jaguar?
doctorclu replied to doctorclu's topic in Atari Jaguar
Well from what we see here most of these titles are 1993 or early to mid-1994 releases. But Aliens Vs. Predator was a October 1994 release, and Bubsy a December 1994 release. So a possible one for the VidPro card collection. For you Jaguar but non-Bubsy fans out there, well shows there were a two year range of these cards possible. -
Actually Bubsy is, just gotta get good. Highlander I liked for the overall story and atmosphere. But as I said that included the cheat codes with the hidden area about the programmers and the rubber chicken.
-
Yeh they are. I think VLM and Battlemorph are my top reasons, but also another I'll mention shortly. Fun game. Loved flying along and blowing up stuff to a rock soundtrack. Played all through Highlander on cheat mode with a rubber chicken. Fun game. ---- The other reason to get a Jag CD is it makes a good way to load homebrew games and some ST ports.
