I found about ten Jaguar controllers in their boxes for about $5 a piece. Found my JAM!!! (Composite to VGA box) for $2 at a thrift store. Jaguar w/ Alien vs. Predator in pawn shop... $55 in 1999. And while not thrift, it was amazing to find a new Jaguar in a Kaybee toystore in 1999 for $30. Last of three in regular stores in Dallas.

That's ok... I mainly heard about Battlesphere when I was part of the Dallas ST Atari club in 1999. They had been waiting the whole time with baited breath and I was like "What is that?" Anyway, you seem to be into Intellivision, or perhaps the PC. Think of Space Spartans on the Intellivision, give it X-Wing vs. Tie graphics (around 1994-ish) and there you go. (Space Spartans is basically Star Raiders with voice effects) A great game that I would love to see available to more people with Jaguars.

Forget Raiden 2... I want RAIDEN DX!

Reasons for a Jag-CD: VLM and audio CD's as well as karokee. And if that doesn't add hundreds of discs for the Jag to use, you always have... - Iron Soldier II - Battlemorph That said, what amazes me is how Atari had a CD player, and it took Nintendo... ah hell.. Nintendo STILL doesn't have a CD player.

This is only one passing mention of a "JagJoyBox" ... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...ic=21072&st=350 Which is apparently the new hack one of the members here. Nice! Aside from that, if you hate the size and feel of the Jag controller, then you will ABSOLUTELY hate the MAS-Pro arcade controller, or the Jedi Jeff Joystick, or a lot of arcade controller types that have come out. There are of course the rotary controllers ranging from modified 2600 driving controllers, to boxy arcade paddles, to the ones where they have it mounted in a Jag controller. In my opinion, there needs to be more selection for the Jag, and that JagJoyBox might be just what the doctor ordered.

Still want to find out more about this.

Hmmm... could be useful for when M.U.L.E. is ported to the Jaguar.

hm... i dont know that one....... how is it done??? 910725[/snapback] What code would that be? Never heard of that either. -
I have been able to come across multiple copies of Battlesphere. And a Catbox or two, and the JagLink II. Used it to have fun with a friend's kids (three player game) and as time has gone on I have lent out two copies to people I wanted to have enjoy the game. Still have two copies. Luckily I was there and had just enough money to buy BS and BSG when they came out. It was just a matter of timing there. Hey, those in Dallas or around Dallas write me a PM and we'll hook up for a multiplayer game sometime. A little Battlesphere.. a little Doom..

How is this different from the regular multitap adaptor?

Every time I hear that I remember an old love interest of mine. Of course you go through this blissful level and hearing that, and then you mess up... it is such a let down having to get back to the real game play. T2K just rocked in every way it could. -
BS gold, the part I enjoy that was not in BS was the warp effect/tunnel. I usually play with that on. About 95% of the gameplay in BS is the same. It is still very good. BS Gold has a lot more codes and hidden things. And the clear cart makes it easy to find in my collection.

Looks great. Will pick one up when they become available.

Few like the Bubster, and in truth, if I hadn't spent a year or so playing it (because I liked the Jag and it was one of the few games I had, and my friend's kids liked watching) I probably would not be such a fan now. I can get Bubsy to do a run, jump glide combination, and even ways to reach things that are difficult to reach. There are even places I can do this summersalt jump glide move. Good stuff. And I try to instruct friends and others wanting to learn that. And then I have to remember all the fun I had dying those first couple of months. I think it was my friends kids laughing at Bubsy dying so much that made me forget the frustration of those days. That, and when he knocks on the screen when you don't do anything.
-
Yes you can change my vote on American Hero from "28 D" (LOL) to probably "6". As for Bubsy, the best Bubsy game to date, in my opinion as a big Bubsy fan is the first game on the Super NES/Sega. Of the Bubsy games, I would have to put them in this order from best to worst... 1) Bubsy (SNES/Sega)(PC?) 2) Bubsy FFT (Jaguar) 3) Bubsy II (SNES/Sega/Gameboy) 4) Bubsy 3D (PC/Playstation) The Jag version got me going on it, but I've had the most fun on the first Bubsy game hate to say. The Jag version is a close second though. Bubsy II is a lot of fun too. Bubsy 3D has funny moments, but is definately on the bottom of the stack.

Score in Salmon Run... 3322.

I did a search and did not find this mentioned yet, soooo... ... those that go to Charlie and the Chocolate factory will see a familiar face. When they show "Television Kid" for the first time, you can see the game system he is playing is an Atari 2600. The game he is playing is clearly not a 2600 game, or he has severly hacked that game. An Atari 2600 with PS3 graphics. Well, anyway, was great to see it featured. Amazing how that game system just keeps showing up no matter how much time passes!

Why did the arcades die in America? From my perspective the arcades were going great until the laser disc games like Dragon's Lair and other came out. That is when I remember things dropping off drastically the first time. Up till then it was a scence of awe. When Dragon's Lair came out, it was simply awesome and unbelievable. I remember seeing it for the first time, and I didn't believe my eyes. Time rolled on, creative games were replaced with fighting games and games where people walk along and beat peolple up. That I thought was a stagnant era in arcade gaming. So that brings us up to the nineties, and by this point, I remember playing X-Men a lot, having a blast with it, and a few others. Late nineties, the Star Wars Arcade, Area 51, and DDR. All fun. Here in Dallas we have seen special arcades, to games at Putt putt places, and now those are gone. There are places like Dave & Busters, and other gaming places for adults, but by and large, video games are seen at skating rinks and laundry mats. (That is where I played a Alien vs. Predator game). There are small arcades at the malls. Used to have them take up a whole wing of the mall, or a whjole floor, and now, maybe a room. Video games are definately still out there though. Current assement of this situation was brought to mind by one Putt Putt arcade owner as he shut down the place. He said that people simply don't get out anymore. Period. But you'll certainly find me getting out and looking.

As far as Bubsy goes, I have fun being one of the few that enjoy that game, but being that it was like the second game I got for the Jag, I have delevoped my gameplay on it for years. Now it is enjoyable. Steep learning curve, but can reach a point where Bubsy's moves are varied and his moves can be mastered.

What was going to be a peaceful casual klingon raid of the Starship Pegasus for the Klingon "Good day to dine" is turning into a full blown battle as the USS Trinity River is flying in to defend the Pegasus, and challenges the IKV Melota and the Rogue Squadron to a fierce lan battle afterwards. A lan party... see the message that follows. There might be some USS Joshua involvement there, though uncertain, since they are schedule to arrive a few hours earlier. Could be a very interesting event and lan party though. Q'lu "Yes I'm a demon... a dimensional traveller or 'demon' for short. Got my copy of Last Starfighter. Love the case, works great, looks great next to Star Raiders. Would love to recase my Star Raiders II game in the similiar brown and gold lettering, but maybe someday. Anyone out there do custom labels?
