Nintendo Classic Mini announced
jdollatari replied to Atariboy's topic in Classic Console Discussion
slowly starting to get back to my nintendo roots as this is the company that first got me into gaming this looks like it could be the best of these sort of mini consoles even better than the flasback units likely locked down pretty good this being a nintendo product and a bit pricey but obviously worth it and will sell well -
Jaguar CD Unleashed: the CD BIOS emulation project
jdollatari replied to Songbird's topic in Atari Jaguar
as someone who ended up with a doa cd unit when collecting and has never since had the chance to own and play a jag cd i thank you sir! -
if the numbers are true there are not many consoles and though the number of people who care is also low you have to consider even just from owners with more than one console who have posted here that the hardware is not reliable and so units get tossed or left unrepaired and of course many are likely sitting around unknown. either way i miss the good ol days when they were affordable when i bought mine with the cd add on back in 2007 i want back in but can not afford it and its driving me nuts

where might i buy a new skunkboard or will there ever be another run? tracking one down via trade or used seems like it might be more of a challenge but i am interested in this

wife and i are getting back into pc gaming i haven't played much because my hp firebird is getting long in the tooth being built in 2009 we built a pretty nice rig using amd and asus parts but she kinda got carried away dropping nearly 1500 on it water cooled huge case and power supply some of it was over kill anyway that new 200 dollar radeon 480 card is a great choice and will be going in our next build for my own personal machine since i doubt we can share this one long

Does anyone have Doom impressions?
jdollatari replied to Gabsters89's topic in Modern Console Discussion
played the campaign demo and loved it 10 hours is a good length i think. they really did a great job i was worried this game might not be good. multiplayer may not be perfect but i enjoyed it while in beta i will buy the game just can't afford to at full price right now and i keep missing the sales -
just got this recently and its been a blast reliving stuff i played on the 64 as a kid and trying their older titles for the first time. a great value to this game!
-
bought one for 40 with a couple type s controllers recently to replay shenmue 2 and start collecting for it as i missed a bunch of games and many are cheap its fun to relive some of the old titles as well. planning to mod it and tear it down for some cleaning and improvement any recommended sites ?

Do you spend more money on vintage or modern games?
jdollatari replied to Shawn's topic in Poll Forum
these days modern as i no longer collect and am just getting into this new generation. overall in my lifetime it may be a tie though -
just the image and thought of such a game is neat
-
played it finally while it was free on xbox one and its so much fun i'm decent at it look forward to playing much more and the cross platform should mean way more games to play and now they have basketball i here
-
i am also a shmup fan these days most seem to play on a pc using steam. console wise grab yourself a saturn dreamcast and xbox 360 and you should be good. death smiles on 360 was great. radiant silvergun among many others on saturn. just be warned it can be an expensive genre to enjoy unless doing so via emulation or steam
-
yeah op its crazy how expensive they are i can't recall what i paid for mine but doubt i can have one again any time soon even at 200 its a bit rich id go 150
-
they need to release what will make money they need quality sonic games and stop messing around with phone games that don;t seem to make money they always close them down so fast they can't be profitable. they need to find a way to make yakuza successful here and in europe and then perhaps more will follow
