  1. Replaced my HTC 10's battery. Not as much hard, as it is tedious by all the cables needing unplugged. The big part is getting the screen off without breaking the lcd. I ended up scratching the lcd as the cards I used to cut the adhesive went between the lcd and glass. Also somehow goofed the contact button LEDs. Got the replacement board with those buggers, and I'll be ordering the new screen tomorrow. The battery is holding up, so I can consider that a victory.

And then a 6 year old niece or nephew will come by and you'll be like... "Have you ever played Math Fun?"  :D

Actually... when you see what I'm doing with it... you'll see it's actually very cool.  And can be played by all age/skill levels with the Karma Gaming Engine.  And a GREAT license (sorry Electric Company... you've been replaced) that has info and learning about animals as well.  :)

Great! I picked up the 2 Electric Co. games for my kiddo when she got old enough. Glad to hear that it's getting revamped!

  3. Needs a rewrite - I am guessing that it is supposed to be HER childhood system that she is showing to her kid. Been in storage and is old = hence the dust... They could have expressed that better,

I guess you could say, they weren't, Claritin clear?

  4. For those looking into "scraping" your roms for Retropie/Emulation Station, I started to use Universal XML Scraper V2 the other day. Initial opinion ... awesome!. The program runs on your PC/Lappy and you can directly link to you raspberry pi via the network. Hence, your PC scrapes the game data online, then can send it directly to the pi over your network. So easy. The 3 pic image scrapes look gr8 as well (ie screenshot, boxart, title marquee). Some good tutorials on lubetube.

I did a fresh 4.4 install this weekend and decided to try UXML. Currently scraping as I type. :P I had Skyscraper, which did good, but for some reason it wouldn't scrape my NES or MAME sets. Muljord tried to help, but he couldn't recreate my issue.

  5. Mom and dad rocked Super Mario Bros. back in the day. Dad could pull off the troopa 1-UP trick. :P He also liked playing Contra, too. When the SNES came along they both played SMW. Dad kept on with it and played Contra AMD F-Zero. Then my brother got them a Wii and created a bowling monster with dad.

  6. So, I took a look at the traces the 3 resistors are on and see they go back to the M34012. One is on pins 4(VDD - Battery) and 9(INIT - resistor to VDD), the resistor that's between the ribbon and the M34012. Then one side of the other 2 are on the same trace/path, which goes to pin 3(R10 - Speaker). Could it be a bum speaker, or something on the chip that's not sending a signal to it?
