Finally scored a Famicom converter!
SiberianSpForces replied to SiberianSpForces's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Just went and downloaded it. Very nice design! This just saved a NES cleaner from getting cut up. -
Finally scored a Famicom converter!
SiberianSpForces replied to SiberianSpForces's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Yeah! I popped the top and RF shield off since I tested it out with no shell. Had lines on the title screen, but I cleaned the Famicom cart's contacts and that cleared it up. The 3D printer shell is just outside the print area unless i stand it on edge. I'm a little worried on printing it like that. Has a better chance of getting knocked over. I'll either try it like that, or get an extended bed. -
Finally scored a Famicom converter!

Slapping the converters in the NES carts was a quick solution for an expected high demand with that Christmas season. There's not a reason to pop a Famicom cart apart, unless you would be doing a custom NES cart. -

I know Krikzz sell them for I think $20. EBay ranges from $8 to over $20. I downloaded a .stl and blew the dust off my MPSM. Going to run some miscellaneous prints to get any kinks out before trying the cart. -

That's an option. I should check thingiverse. I imagine someone has made a .stl for this purpose. -

Now I got to rig up a shell. Been looking and one person at Nintendo Age used the NES Cleaner cart to use the adapter. Then there's using the bottom 1/2 of the cart with a pull ribbon for front loaders. Thought about cutting up a cart similar to how the cleaner cart looks. -
About damn time I found one! After sifting through many 5 screw carts at the local game shops, only to see that the contacts were symmetrical. Tonight, with baby in tote, we ventured into one of the local shops and seen a Gyromite sitting on top of a stack of carts. I figured it was one I had already inspected long ago, but no! The contacts happened to be asymmetrical! I flip it over to check the other side, to make sure I'm seeing straight, still asymmetrical. Dropped the 8 bucks down and off we went. I've been sitting on Densetsu no Kishi - Elrond(JP Wizards & Warriors) and now I can put it to use.

If you would be willing to PayPal the cost of either or both, I would think you could make some sort of arrangement with a pal or possibly a member here? -
Looking for a tabletop pinball suggestion or two.
SiberianSpForces replied to Reaperman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Oh man! I remember my brother having either an Atomic Pinball or something very similar. I have an Air Pinball I got for Christmas years back. I believe they came from Radio Shack. Dismantled it over the summer since it had battery corrosion. Got onto some wiring so I had to replace some wire and resolder a few joints. Only thing left is to get a replacement speaker. It fell apart when I removed it. -
This came from Colecovision's facebook page.

RAMPAGE INTO A MOVIE. WHY?
SiberianSpForces replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Can't wait to see him in Burgertime! -
Indeed. One person noted that it won't boot up correctly when the batteries are low, but once those are replaced, it's fine. Then the guy that discovered this says after it times out from demo mode, you have to repower it. He is looking into a bypass for that.

The black wire runs to the negative terminal on the battery case. The red goes to the on/off switch. The 2 yellow ones are for the speaker.

Here we go. Pulled the pic from another fb memeber's post.

Anyone know a cheap source for av connector PS2?
SiberianSpForces replied to SignGuy81's topic in Sony Playstation 3
The plastic on the port cracked? -
On the FB group, a guy has now modded one to play all 4 with using a joystick direction when you turn it on.

Intellivision newby; some questions ...
SiberianSpForces replied to Yosikuma's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
With just swapping them, they don't work properly. I'll give them a good cleaning/look over and try again. -
I got my tiny Pac-Man modded, just need to wire it to a switch. Then I have another Pac-Man on the way for my brother. It's a bit of a task for me since the surface pads are very small.

It's all the same, just one end has a short male end. I replaced the internal jack with a standard one on mine. *Edit* Here's a link to the jack; https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/cui-inc/RCJ-021/CP-1406-ND/408493

You may just have to re flow the solder hopefully. Otherwise you might find a partstation that doesn't have AV problems. -
Most fragile CD based systems?
SiberianSpForces replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Just got a McBoot card and need to see what to do for the HDD. -
Possibly cutting a small piece of foam to cover the speaker may help? Something I'll look at when I get mine in.
