@joeatari1 Same here, and his brand of irreverence would never be allowed on film and television nowadays.

  3. Asteroite has finally been streamed:

@phoboz @Songbird That was for you.

  4. Here are some classic New Orleans commercials, as well as Lafayette, Pineville, Alexandria, etc.

As a bonus, here's a Delchamps commercial montage:

  5. Don't you find it a bit sad that Robocop Vs. The Terminator (SNES) is one of the only games from Bethesda that isn't buggy? Then again, it helped that it didn't have the massive size and scope of the Elder Scrolls series.

Video of the game in question.

  6. Sigh......

    Finally

It took my one giant pain in the &&& but I finally fixed my offset bug.

The complicated programing in assembly to catch a moving 8x8 pattern by a moving sprite in real time is the very definition of a headache but I did it.

I did not quite rewrite my movement and scrolling routine but I honed it to bare bones then merged the two timing with a pretty cool routine to mathematically get the proper address where the sprite will be.

I have all things within the NMI so there is no tearing.

Now, you can all say this is just Haunted House...big whoop.

Well, now I have a set of routines that I can have a true scrolling playfield with sprite collisions.

I think I can also do this horizontally but I am not about to make a vertical.

With proper setup there is no reason why we can't have a nice Zelda type game in respect to a horizontal side scroller.

Personally there are a couple of Amiga games I would like to port that come to mind.

So now, I will go back to the room mapping and rest of the game programing.

      Nice.

By the way, the Sega SG-1000 had similar hardware.

This would make for a great homebrew port.

I also wanted to mention the Sharp X68000 version of Thunder Force 2's soundtrack:

This is Exceliza, I will deploy now. Roger, Good luck!

  9. Happy 85th Birthday, Daffy Duck:

Today would also have been Joe Alaskey's birthday if it wasn't for his passing in 2016.

My personal favorite Daffy cartoons were made betwixt 1938 and 1953. That was before he became the bitter, spiteful, antagonistic, greedy fall guy who always got the short end of the stick.

Zippy, may I suggest the following?

      -Scud the Disposable Assassin

      -Transmetropolitan

      -DMZ

-Ex Machina (Despite having only one super hero; this is actually a political comic, and a nuanced and well-thought-out one at that.)

      -Dave Sim's Cerberus

      -Chew by Rob Guillory

      -Sweets by Kody Chamberlain

-Legba's Bar by Inland Blue Publishing

      -From Hell by Alan Moore

      -Meth the Immortal

And the e in Hrēad has a long/macron accent. Geoluhrēad, I learned that from

https://www.oldenglishtranslator.co.uk and https://www.bosworth-toller.com, which are really helpful for Old English.

  18. Eternal Champions is a pretty overlooked SEGA Genesis fighting came. Definitely check it out if you haven't already.

I'm also a pretty big fan of the soundtrack, despite the fact that it uses the notorious GEMS sound driver. (Although, plenty of games which utilized it well were able to produce some excellent music). Regardless, I decided to give it a go at making a remix of "Blade's Theme" using a combination of instruments from the Sonic 1&2 sound driver and the SN76489's square wave channels.

    Take a listen!

Currently listening to it, and I have to say that it sounds better than the GEMS original. A piece of advice: May I suggest that you sign up to SoundCloud or BandLab? (The latter allows for unlimited uploads.)

Razorfist on YouTube said in an episode of The Rage-aholic that it is his all-time favorite arcade game. If it weren't for the legal convolution, I'd say put it on the VCS as a part of Atari Recharged.
