  4. Unpopular and Controversial Opinions, Volume 22:

-'80s British Stop-motion cartoons > most American cartoons from that decade.

-Frank Zappa's music has aged gracefully.

-On the other hand, Green Day still sucks.

-While I abhor their employee treatment, Konami is trying to amend their credibility. Credibility that was ruined when Kojima was company Vice President.

-Grandia II = What Final Fantasy VII should have been.

-Van Beuren's Tom & Jerry > MGM's Tom & Jerry. (Fun fact: Tom in the MGM cartoons was originally called Jasper and Jerry was called Jinx.)

-Metal Gear Solid 2 is like the PS1 Masterpiece that preceded it but bad.

-Speaking of Grandia, I still recommend Monochrome Mobius, Child of Light, and Terra Memoria.

-I'm glad that John K Bacchus is still working on Mega Man X: Corrupted.

-Of all the games released under the PS2 Sega Ages 2500 line, Space Harrier was the best one.

I'm not sure "Frank Zappa's music has aged gracefully" is an unpopular opinion. If you're a Zappa fan, it's timeless. If you don't like it or don't get it, you probably felt that way from the start. Incidentally, I just watched my Zappa Plays Zappa DVD for the first time in quite a while. Incredible stuff.

      Speaking of Space Harrier:

There's just something about the Master System's FM unit that has a certain charm to the games that supported it.

  8. Don't worry, I'm alright. The only thing that happened at my house was the backyard area outside the fence was flooded.

  9. A little piece of forgotten video game history:

Rockstar games originally started as BMG Records' video game division, BMG Interactive. They spun off some time in '96-'97 and became Rockstar Games. Then came the Take-Two Interactive buyout and the rest is history. (Take-Two also bought out DMA Design around the same time and became a division of Rockstar when GTA: Vice City was launched.)

  10. One thing I liked about the Amiga original over the DOS version. I wonder if anyone here besides myself has played Lemmings' 2-Player mode?

Agreed, and it's pitiful that Sony won't release the entirety of the Psygnosis back catalogue on Steam, GOG, and Zoom Platform.

  11. I wanted to remind you that Demon's Souls came before Dark Souls even if the latter is the more popular of the two. Oh, and for fans of Final Fantasy Legend/Makai Toshi SaGa, Square Enix just released a new entry:

Memo to Square Enix, go back to making awesome stuff like SaGa: Emerald Beyond and cease making the likes of Forspoken. You, your fans, and your bottom line will be grateful that you did.

Too bad that the rest of the levels of this game weren't finished up and released.

      SpiceWare

Wow, they got big. Loved playing Lemmings on my Amiga 2000HD, but missed that one as I'd moved onto OS/2 by then.

I did end up with Lemmings 3D at some point. Don't recall if I played it via OS/2's DOS support, or if I had to boot into MS DOS.

I first saw a PS1 copy of Lemmings 3D at FYE at the local mall in the 90s. Years later I played the demo of the DOS version and didn't like it very much. In its defense, it did have good music.

  13. Child of Light:

Hmm...this game's battle system seems somewhat familiar...

  14. One of my favorite Amiga Soundtracks:

Too bad that Psygnosis and DMA Design were never able to finish the rest of the level packs.

  17. The Viewpoint 2064 OST:

I'd wish Sega would re-release Sammy's '80s and '90s library that doesn't involve Guilty Gear. Oh, and this is for @Charlie Cat and @Tanooki.

I dunno, making an FPS and slapping a name of a 2D game on it doesn't make it "Contra 3D".

  23. New footage of the cancelled N64 game Rev Limit has been posted:

You guys would be surprised to hear how long Seta has been around. (One of their last games was Project Sylpheed.) As for the game in question, I think it could have used a bit more to set it apart from other N64 racers.
