  1. If there is one good thing worth saying about the misbegotten Problem Solvers: John DiMaggio's Snagglepuss impersonation.

  2. This is why Fist of the North Star is still my favorite anime:

  3. If there are some things about Swat Kats I still like: The music, voice acting, choreography, and color theory. Too bad that HB couldn't market the show well. (Which led to its cancellation.)

      MrMaddog

"Billionare" Ted Turner canceled it cause it was "too violent". Another casuality of political correctness...

I seem to recall he was pushing that godawful crap Captain Planet on people and was getting rid of shows people liked...

To this day I hate anyone who thinks that cartoons should be "educational", and of course the senators who came up with e/i and killed Saturday morning cartoons...(I'm not talking about School house Rock and Sesame Street BTW)...

  4. Apple used to be synonymous with "quality product that justified the high price tag." However, their decline started around 2006-2007. (I used to like their computers despite using Windows and, before that, Amiga Workbench.)

^ And thanks to that post I now know what a Chocodile is lol I had never heard of them before. Personally I'd like iPhones and iPads a lot more if Apple just ditched iOS and let them run OS X with a touch interface. iOS always seemed too limited in functionality compared to OS X to be practical for me.

The iMAC was not a high quality product, iPod was cheap looking....

  5. Sega Lord X on the Sega Saturn Hardware:

  6. If there is one thing I do like about Crystal Dynamics and Eidos: they had good taste in voice actors. Seriously, you couldn't go wrong with the late Tony Jay from ReBoot and the last three TMNT seasons.

  7. I wonder if Lazy Game Reviews is still active here?

      ValkerieSilk

I'd check, but I gotta take a nap..

  8. I don't know if there's any Megami Tensei fans here, but I prefer Kazuma Kaneko's earlier art (1987-1997) over his post-Persona 2 work. It looks stiff and not very expressive despite being otherwise solid.

  9. Since HamCorossam's site went under, I wonder if there are any other download links for that freeware game, Gunroad?

  10. Why is it that Bulletstorm's Duke Nukem mode is somehow better than Duke Nukem Forever? Maybe 2K Games should let us make a Duke Nukem game?

    1. Flojomojo

      Flojomojo

Don't we have enough Duke games? Would hate for the formula to get tired. ;-)

It doesn't have to be an FPS.

  11. Dragon Quest 5 is still my favorite DQ/Dragon Warrior game.

I've got DQ 1-8 on my phone in the event I get buried in a cave-in or something. So long as I have power.

I had to look that one up...I guess I haven't played it. I may or may not have a fan translation ROM, if one exists...

  12. I've been thinking of using 160B mode for my 7800 projects.

Funny how long it took to have a console which did proper colour at 320 pixel resolution!

  13. I don't want genderswapped Ghostbusters 2. However, I would like an animated Ghostbusters film based on the Real GB cartoon. Don't know if Bill Murray would be interested, then you have to take into consideration whether to choose between Frank Welker or Dan Aykroyd as Ray, as well as between Ernie Hudson, Arsenio Hall, or Buster Jones as Winston.

    1. BydoEmpire

      BydoEmpire

I don't care if it's gender-swapped. Sure, why not? Is it good? Is it funny? Is it entertaining? That's what actually matters.

    2. DZ-Jay

      DZ-Jay

@BydoEmpire, all things being equal, you are right. However, unfortunately, in this day and age, doing a "gender-swapped" version of something is a conscious decision, meaning that *it* becomes the salient point of the work. *sigh*

After dealing with HP's sketchy business tactics (updates crippling performance and locking out 3rd party toners), I switched to a Samsung all in one. Better software. Better hardware. Faster speed. More intuitive. Better all around performer.

I have loved my Epson WorkForce 845 since I got it in 2012. Works perfectly with generic inks too.

I have an Epson Workforce 845 as well and it's been pretty solid.

  15. Too bad that Interplay fucked up the HD version of Earthworm Jim. They could have made the ultimate version that had the parallax and transparencies of the Super NES version, and the Sega CD's extra levels and improved animation.

  16. Would it be a problem if I were to say that I dislike MGS2 and 4?

I wonder if he gets mad whenever someone calls him "Pink Thing."

  18. Here's an excellent cover of The Great Mighty Poo theme! https://soundcloud.com/kawabounga/bullshit It just may be the best song I have heard from the past 20 years. (This is including Ryan and Daryl Mitiska from Apocalypse Cartoons.)

  19. Would a 40-year-old African Grey parrot with a foul mouth be a good RPG character?

I think you're going to run into encumbrance issues. I recommend a barbarian that only quotes Schwarzenegger's *other* movies. "Get to the choppa!"

      Both sound like good ideas.

  20. Would it be considered cartoon heresy to say that Animaniacs hasn't aged well? Sure, there was Slappy and Pinky and the Brain, but beyond that...

    1. DZ-Jay

      DZ-Jay

@jd_1138: same with me. 1940s cartoons held up through time rather well.

  21. I don't know if you guys are into Grave of the Fireflies, Pom Poko, or My Neighbors, The Yamadas, but Isao Takahata just died. I liked The Little Norse Prince despite Toei's meddling.

  23. As much as I liked watching the original TMNT cartoon ('87-'96), I will admit that it hasn't aged well. Hell, I can see why Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman hated it. The 2003 TMNT, on the other hand, is criminally underrated and is easily the best thing 4Kids has ever done.

    1. Jess Ragan

      Jess Ragan

2003 Turtles are definitely better, but I like how the 2012 series "split the difference" between the old and new shows. Baxter Stockman getting chopped to bits in the 4Kids series was a little too intense for me.

    2. MrMaddog

      MrMaddog

2003 TNMT was the closest you'll ever get to the original comics. '87 version was just a toy commercial...

    3. BassGuitari

      BassGuitari

I still owe my parents a massive apology for forcing them to endure that part of my childhood. And also to my grandmother, who took me to TMNTII:Secret Of The Ooze when it came out. Yikes.

  24. So, are there any other non-Warner/DC cartoons that patterned their styles after B:TAS besides Gargoyles, MK: Defenders of the Realm, and The Big O?

  25. Am I the only person here who has heard of RosenKreuzStilette and MegaMari?

    1. Dragon Princess Yushira

      Dragon Princess Yushira

Nope. I have. I never played them but seen them in action.
