  1. You, sir, have done a better job programming the credits in your game than what I have done with mine.
  2. Another one of my dogs has died...

Same here, glazball, and what kind of dogs did you have?

My condolences.  I lost my dog about a year and a half ago, and I still miss him dearly.

      Sorry for your loss.

  3. VHZC, you get points for originality. (I am not being sarcastic.)
  4. So, for example, Bank 1 can be level 1, Bank 2 can be level 2, etc.?
  5. DBZ is fun to go back to, at least the Raditz, Saiyan, and Frieza sagas. The Cell and Buu sagas, on the other hand, tried too hard and were a complete bore.

I haven't watched a lot of Dragon Ball, but from what I remember, after the Freiza saga, they basically became gods and the show became boring, since they would always win due to their power (and if they died they could always just find the Dragon Balls and wish the character back).

Yeah, Akira Toriyama wanted the Frieza saga to be the end of the series.

  6. Fascinating, and maybe XM support would be on the pipeline.
  7. For those who remember After Dark screen savers:

Fun fact: Newgrounds user Sirkowski used to be a colorist on the Bad Dog cartoon before he made Miss Dynamite. Speaking of Sirkowski, am I the only person who thinks that he went downhill after 2003?

I really miss the flying toilets.🙁

  8. Time to bring up something that I haven't heard of until now:

Totsugeki Mix by C-Lab. This was both available for the PC-9801 and MS-DOS, by the way.

  9. RevEng, thanks for pointing that out. To clarify, I was following Atarius Maximus' examples in the 7800Basic manual. Sorry for not pointing that out earlier, and here's the latest builds and List file. New_VerticalShooter_Test.78b.a78 New_VerticalShooter_Test.78b.bin New_VerticalShooter_Test.78b.list.txt
  10. Will this version include the extras from the MSX and PC-Engine versions?
  11. List files included in the zip. @RevEngSetBulletHome is in the actual source, and have made corrections in that regard. vertical Shooter 9-05-2020.zip New_Vertical_Shooter_Rewrite1.bas_00.bmp New_Vertical_Shooter_Rewrite1.bas_01.bmp
  12. Here's what happens when I try to compile the original engine with Sound effects and DMA: --- Unresolved Symbol List 0.SetBulletHome 0000 ???? 13. What made The Predator (2018) all the more dreadful: the fact that both Shane Black and Fred Dekker were at the helm.

    They should have known better...

For those who want a more comedic take:

Sometimes, I question my friends' tastes in films.

  14. Agreed, it helps to proofread your manuals and tutorials.
  15. I wonder what would happen if Brittany Taylor (MTV's Daria) met Mihoshi Kuramitsu from Tenchi Muyo?

  16. I've decided to do a re-write of my vertical shooting demo. The good news: The dim segments are much more organized. The bad news: This new ROM I compiled now displays weird garbage. 17. I have to agree with Karl, knowing when to rewrite can be quite helpful. I bet if you did a series of 7800Basic how-to videos for the newbies after you finish Spire of the Ancients; the amount of games for it would skyrocket.
  18. I have to say that you progressed nicely with Popeye so far. Of course, you still have to properly implement the spinach theme.
  19. Will there be deep parts of the flooded tunnels?
  20. I wonder if anyone here has seen John Carpenter's Cigarette Burns, or anything he did since?

I've seen Cigarette Burns (starring a younger Norman Reedus). It's okay. Probably one of the better Masters of Horror episodes.

  21. Here's a new version, now with DMA!! With that out of the way, I need help with the Sound Effects, shot code, etc. Vertical Shooter 9-02-2020.zip
  22. I originally was hesitant to even work on this given that Curt Vendel has passed. However, might as well work on it some more... As usual, you can look through the code to see what I did right and wrong. Vertical Shooter 8-31-2020.zip
  23. This was unexpected, and I am terribly sorry.
  24. Vigilante 8 has surprisingly aged quite well when compared to its sequel. Though, in the latter's defense, if you have a '73-'77 GM A-Body in your car combat game, Luxoflux and Activision did something right.

    1. IntelliMission

      IntelliMission

I used to play a lot with my friends in the summer of 98. Shame the PS1 version only had 2 players split screen instead of 4.

I love the Interstate '76-Vigilante 8 universe... I hope they get revived some day. It's about time for a car combat comeback!

@ZoyousCar combat is in need of a comeback, which is why I am focusing on the groundwork for one.

  25. @SmittyBThanks, and I just updated with a gameover_loop test by pushing the left switch to the B position. New_VerticalShooter_Test.78b.bin
