  1. I admit to liking International's pickup trucks. If your work truck also wins points in the style department, it is safe to say that they did something very right. (Ditto for the Scout and TravelAll.)

I feel for you, x, seeing that I went to look at a '73 1210D in Mandeville.

My boss at the music store (late 90's) traded a Marshall half stack for an orange International Scout.  Very Well Built!  Man,  they don't make'em like that anymore!

I like International's pickups and the scouts, but Ohio was murder on them. People ran them into the ground and the road salt did the rest. I did find a couple good examples years ago, but the guy had moved and lost the titles. Also typical Ohio there.

  2. For those who remember the original Cotton game, Success and Beep have this awesome looking remaster: To be frank, this series was in need of a revival, and hopefully this will get a US release.
  3. When it comes to the games I played, Halo was good, along with Toe Jam & Earl 3, Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Steel Battalion, and Kakuto Chojin looked interesting. To tell you guys the truth, despite being a Nintendo guy at the time (still am for all of their defects); I thought that the original X-Box got too much shit back in the day, and even admit that it was a good enough platform that MS could have squeezed a few more years out of it. Oh, and let us not forget that Modern Vintage Gamer was the one who programmed all the homebrew emulators for it.
  4. For those who remember Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams, it just got a PS4/Switch remake:

I hope that this does well enough to warrant a compilation of the series.

Update Time: Cotton 2 for the Saturn just got a translation patch.

      https://www.romhacking.net/translations/5999/

Now if only someone translated Cotton 100% and Rainbow Cotton...

  5. That is quite impressive, Eagle! As said before, I look forward to an actual game from you.
  6. Phoboz, will there be Pro Controller support for this game?
  7. For those who loved Guardian Heroes and Code of Princess:

I will admit that the digitized sprites for this actually look good.

  8. All that needs to be done with the label is to move the IREM logo up a bit.
  9. I have to admit, you did quite well on that edit.
  10. I have to say that flyer art would be perfect.
  11. The new protagonist sprites look good.
  12. What are your Top Five game series that went downhill after the first game?

    1. bluejay

      bluejay

It started to go downhill after the 4th game, but it still went downhill; Castlevania.

Any game that was 2D and then tried to be 3D hahaa...

    3. TwentySixHundred

      TwentySixHundred

That's a hard one because most lose the plot after the second or third. Like Sonic, Test Drive and the Strike series for example. However there are plenty that went on to keep the same format and produce quality. Having said that i agree with Gold that most who tried to transition from 2d to 3d were usually complete fails.

Anyway here is one that comes to mind:

      Bubsy - SNES/GEN

Bubsy2 wasn't horrible however more of a missed opportunity. It really just lacked what the first game had and where it did try to add innovation it just fell short.

  13. @Synthpopalooza I look forward to what you make.
  14. One thing that I will say is that you did a great job programming the gravity in E.X.O. It almost makes me want to write a platforming engine.
  15. Looking better and better by the day.
  16. The Lancia Stratos HF:

It just may be the best car Lancia, if not all of Italy, has ever produced.

    1. bluejay

      bluejay

So, uh, the 037, which was the last rear wheel drive ever to win the WRC, even beating the mighty Audi Quattro in 1983, isn't a rally legend? The Delta S4, which featured a revolutionary twincharged engine, isn't a rally legend? The Fulvia, which won the Italian Rally Championship no less than 8 times issn't a rally legend?

    2. Hwlngmad

      Hwlngmad

Granted, the others are really great and amazing cars.  No debate about that.  But, in my opinion, the Stratos is the most iconic and best Lancia in my book as that is car I immediately think of when I think of Lancia.  But, then again, others (such as yourself) might think otherwise, which is totally fine.  Not a problem at all.

I remember seeing a Lancia Scorpion/Beta Montecarlo back in '05 at a motorcycle race. Too bad that the Delta was never officially released stateside. Come to think of it, the Stratos and Scorpion would be perfect for racing and car combat.

  19. This is a must for those who want POKEY support in their games. Matt, I salute you.
  20. He did a good job for his first homebrew project, and if you need another musician, I can compose a few tracks.
  21. I'm currently rewriting my source file. In case anyone is wondering, I based the firing routine off of the one in the 7800Basic manual. Update: Now I'm getting an assembly error. --- Unresolved Symbol List BREAKPROTECTOFF 0000 ???? (R ) player 0000 ???? (R ) stack allowance: 30 nested subroutines. the canary is situated at: $1c1 28631 bytes of ROM space left in the main area. 514 bytes of ROM space left in DMA hole 0. 581 bytes of ROM space left in DMA hole 1. 395 bytes of ROM space left in DMA hole 2. $1880 to $1fff used as zone memory, allowing 15 display objects per zone. 2310 bytes left in the 7800basic reserved area. 22. Panzer Dragoon Saga:

Judging by the footage alone, it has aged better than most of its contemporaries. (Much better, mind you.)

It's a shame that Sega lost PD Saga's source code, but with modern reverse engineering, a port/remake isn't as improbable as we had thought. All it needs is Sega paying someone to do the RE.

    2. Curious Sofa

      Curious Sofa

I would think it would easily outsell the PD remake, which I do enjoy.  The hunger for PD Saga is huge, and I agree with SlidellMan , even with the source code lost, it can be done.  Just imagining PD Saga without the "jaggies" gives me a few goosebumps.  Incredible journey.  And IMO a better way to really show off what they created than with the original Rail shooters (nothing against PD 1, 2, or Orta!).  Much like I always thought KOTOR was a great way to explore the universe.  And I don't even like RPGs. :)

  23. Here's one Progressive House song worth listening to:

    1. DragonGrafx-16

      DragonGrafx-16

I like the first half but the second half kind of loses it for me. Though I'm more of a deep house fan when it comes to house music (also acid and disco house).

Progressive house is just slower trance.

Anyway for house music I'm really into Stussy and Djoko right now: What U Want (Chris Stussy & Djoko Remix) - YouTube OH YES

Speaking of Trance, and Acid Trance in particular, I just released a new version of Black Pudding.

      https://www.bandlab.com/fighting_zenith/black-pudding-wip-03-3a68c20a?revId=49d14973-775e-eb11-a607-0050f28a2802

As for slow Trance, try the Deep Trance genre. Those songs are around 90-110 BPM.

    3. DragonGrafx-16

      DragonGrafx-16

Eh I'm a Goa/Psy head when it comes to trance, though there is some overlap with acid trance being than most of my Goa tracks have a 303 in it:

Panther With Third Eye | Psykatagoa | Running Rampant Recordings (bandcamp.com) The first track doesn't though.

  24. The best home version is about to get even better.
