Received an EPROM with the Oric diagnostic tool (http://oric.signal11.org.uk/html/diagrom.htm - it worked in a working Oric), plugged it in, but no change ... i only received the same pattern and no diagnostic things. Crap and it sucks ... i'll throw them in the bin!

I own some Matra Alice (the small 4k ones) and as it was mentioned here ... it is the same like the MC-10. You could use all the available extensions listed here: http://alice.system-cfg.com/extensions.php The official 16 kb RAM add-on will work with the MC-10 too.

Thanks for your answer James. I now tried two different universal power supplies ... the same result. The RAMs are all only warm, not hot (both computers). I don't think, that this is a RAM problem. I will shorten pin 1 und 40 tomorrow, 'cause the reset switch ist only for NMI. I went to the defence-force board, 'cause there are some Oric freaks there, but ... i really appreciate all your help and it is welcome ...

I bought a Saleae LA but i have to work for the clamps. Maybe i could find the problem ... maybe it's the 10017 ULA, the 6502 or the 6522.

Hi, got two defective Orics (1 and an Atmos) and both show bad screens. It looks like a defective cpu and/or defective rams. So i'm searching for someone, who had similar problems and tried to repair an Oric and could tell something about this ... Both seem to have an ordinary 6502A CPU, so a replacement would be easy (i think). Thanks in advance ... Tom

Hi, i know, that the FW1599 works with a 800XL, but i've seen, that the 51AUP supply is only mentioned with the XE systems. So my question is ... will the 51AUP (1A) wotk with a ordinary 800XL without problems? Thanks in advance. Tom

Well, i received a BBC Master with a little keyboard problem. So i opened the case and cleaned the components. I've seen, that there was no internal battery pack included ... which is good i think, 'cause old packs could have a leak. I bought a new pack and i hope it will arrive soon. The keyboard problem is gone ... it was heavy dirt under the keys ... I noticed a further problem ... the three important psu capacitors weren't changed in the past, so i'll do it by myself in the next days (the two X2 and the 220uF). I'll show the whole results the next weekend (including new keystrips and other stuff) Here are two pics of the original condition.

Hi, i wonder, if there was a mod for adding a power switch to a Sinclair +2a/+2B ... i can't find anything about it. Well, i use a powerboard with a switch for each socket, but i would prefer a power switch for the the Sinclair anyway. Any hints? Thanks ... Tom
