  2. Hi, discovered this one at the back of an VG8235. What is it or what could it be? Thanks. Tom
  3. Thanks, but that is sadly not the problem ... I'm cleaning the heads now.
  4. Thanks man ... I'll try to clean the heads first ...
  5. Hi, bought some Atari 8 Bit stuff for my collection recently and tested all of the hardware. Everything is working fine ... the 1050 floppy loads all the atari disks without any problems, but when i get into DOS 2.5 and want to format a disk, i always receive error 173 in the end of the formating (i took 1 minute or so). I tested 20 different disk, but it is always the same error ... i always hear the formating sound (what shows, that i shoud work), but at the end .... Error 173. I don't know why. What COULD be wrong, but don't forget ... the drive loads all my Atari disks wihtout a single problem. Maybe the disks i want wo format are in a bad condition ... but all 20 disks? Help would be great. Thanks. Tom
  6. Another 800XL and some other things for my collection ...
  7. I've tested Hunchback, Repton 3 and other joystick supported Games for about a hour now and the stick works absolutely great without any issues! Don't know, why the seller mentioned the hanging left problem. Everthing is like new (anything except the box, but this isn't very important in my case). The microswitches are in a top condition.
  8. The Thomsons are/were french computers made by the Thomson company. Here are some informations about it. http://www.cpcwiki.eu/index.php/Thomson I "love" them, 'cause they are not common like the Commodores and other computers. Mostly comparable with Sinclair ZX, Amstrad CPC, MSX and others ...
  9. Yes, the seller said, that the stick stucks a bit in the left direction. But i've many spare Comp. Pro parts. It will arrive tomorrow and maybe my repair will be successful.
  10. I'm choosing the simple way ... i bought this one ...
  11. Well, maybe this could be another possibility: Some guys used a Meanwell PSU ... https://www.reichelt.de/Power-Supplies-up-to-150-W/SNT-RD-35B/3/index.html?ACTION=3&GROUPID=7300&ARTICLE=137089&OFFSET=500&SID=11V03F36wQATMAAGskb@g38212397c5915f0973ca3a204b6dbce9&LANGUAGE=EN ... to replace a faulty Atari 1040ST internal power supply, which also needs 5V+12V. Or an original 1040 internal power supply, 'cause i've some for spare parts.
  12. Yes, that would be an idea ... I'm not so much into that electronic things like reading shematics and soldering complicated pcb stuff (i repaired some easier things), so i've to learn some more of that crap first. I've some older ATX PSUs in the basement.
  13. Thanks for your answers ... Yes, i'm on system-cfg too and i hoped to get some more solutions. You know ... more eyes, more brains ... more possible solutions. The UV method looks interesting, so i will check this one when i've repaired my broken power supply ... it falls of the table yesterday.
  14. Hi, well, i repaired some of my other Thomsons and now i got a TO8 with a cut power cord. Ok, i replaced the power cable and the suppression capacitor. I powered on the TO8 and and he brings up the normale red light, but i only get this noisy picture ... Strange, 'cause i don't know, where to start searching for the failure. The scart cable works with all my other homecomputers (the ones with a scart connector) and i get the regular +5V and +12V from the power supply. I little help would be great. Thanks & regards Tom
  15. Thanks for your answers ... i'll check some possible solutions ...
  16. Hi, i own a BBC Model B Issue 7 with a sd-card interface and i know about the old joysticks like the Voltmace or the BBC Dual sticks ... and this one ... but are there any useful selfmade solutions to use a simple Comp. Pro, Quickshot or other similar sticks? I've seen this and this thread here at Atari Age, but are there any solutions with pics and more infos? Thanks Tom
  17. A little shelf update and some more pics ... I received a boxed MO5E in an absolutely great condition some days ago ... time for a test ... Pics of some of my shelves, the testing station and spare computers which i must repair and other things ... a lot of stuff is in my basement too ...
  18. Please close. Thanks.
  19. Hi, i'm mainly into the old homecomputer stuff. My first contact with homecomputers, consoles and stuff was an old Intel Video Game (from my deceased father and i sold i ... well, i'm an idiot) in the 70s & my first "real" Homecomputer an Amstrad CPC 464. After this i collected a lot of computers like MSX, Thomson, different Atari ST Versions, some Sinclair ZX, the Commodore 264 row, Acorn Electron, TI-99/4A and many others. Here are some pictures ... older and newer ones ... My main focus lies on the Thomson computers. Greetings Tom
