Some progress... A guy calling himself AntiPontifex (!) actually typed in this program - as well as many others! - a year ago: http://abandonlistings.free.fr/microvo/ATARI.htm I can't get the BASIC file to create the machine language program due to an error detected at line 0. Am I doing something wrong or is it just a matter of a mistyped line? Here's the disk if someone wants to check what is going on: Multicolor-Drawer.atr

Isn't this something like Super Examinador? -
Jersey Atari Computer Group (J.A.C.G.) Disk Archive
www.atarimania.com replied to cx2k's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Please upload what you have. Not sure I saw anything special in the catalog but it certainly won't hurt to have the disks archived and available somewhere. -
Definitely looks like a "1". I don't believe the glitches at line 2000 are extra characters that were accidentally squeezed, I just see a "D" and a "5".

Thanks to both of you! I just removed the disk that was on our site. Now that we have a working version from an original, there's just no sense keeping the other one.

Atari 8bit in China and/or Japan
www.atarimania.com replied to Marius's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I actually forgot about the Programmers 3, Inc. and Star Craft, Inc. development teams responsible for AE and Sky Blazer respectively. Is it confirmed the A8 ports were also converted by the original Japanese programmers? -
Atari 8bit in China and/or Japan
www.atarimania.com replied to Marius's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks for your insight! Are you aware of any software developed in Japan for the A8, even small programs or PD software? -
Hi, I just forwarded your message to our webmaster. Not sure why it doesn't work straight away, some problems seem to pop up from time to time. If you want to submit anything, please feel free to send me a PM or even post what you have right here on AtariAge, that's perfectly OK. Thanks!

Mark, thanks for the great Easter egg! Are you allowed / willing to share it as a single file as well? -
There may be some more - I seem to recall a PD game in German - but here is what we have: http://www.atarimania.com/list_games_atari-400-800-xl-xe-strategy-politics_genre_152_8_G.html

I did get the particular picture with the stairs to display properly, though.

Please try the following disk images: Lucifer_s_Realm.zip I didn't get the bug but there might be some other problems (despite following the solution exactly, I got stuck shortly after). Also remember this is an OS-B title.

Programs from "Your Computer" magazine
www.atarimania.com replied to Allan's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thanks Mark, I just uploaded Swag a few hours ago and I'm going to add your disk edition for more convenience as well (all credit to Livorno for taking the time to type in this game!). I don't believe we have more Your Computer listings in the pipeline but am currently working on the missing Computer & Video Games programs which were also done by Livorno about a year ago. -

How about a Western Union money order? I remember using that option with Ben years ago and everything went smoothly. -
Retro Gamer Magazine (UK)
www.atarimania.com replied to ∞ Vince ∞'s topic in Classic Console Discussion
No, I'm not "clumping every configuration into the same group", just the standard systems. Considering GB64 includes educational programs, why disregard them on the Apple? Whatever... Anyway, what part of "the vast majority of the software is educational" don't you understand? Seems pretty clear I meant there were more non-educational titles on the Commodore 64 so you should be happy... For those who DO want to include educational games, there are 20,000-25,000 titles on the Apple in this category at least. I honestly don't care whether I can convince you but you'll find the programs listed in Software for Schools 1987-88, editions of The Software Encyclopedia (R. R. Bowker) or The Software Catalog - Microcomputers (Elsevier). Otherwise, yeah, I have to agree Retro Gamer has gone downhill... -

For the record, there ARE more games on the Apple than on the Commodore 64, it's just that the vast majority of the software is educational. -

Monday Morning Manager is "out there" but there are various releases / editions of the game. I don't want to add the program to the database before more complete and accurate information is found. -
Color difference between Emulator and hardware
www.atarimania.com replied to tsom's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Actually, a number of screenshots were taken a very long time ago using Atari800Win PLus and a palette best matching what I saw on my PAL system (there are still a few duds that are terrible and look neither PAL nor NTSC, these are replaced regularly). Altirra wasn't available back then and it was difficult trying to find the best settings... and it still can be. A number of times, I tried to check what the screenshots looked like on some boxes - like Bruce Lee - and modified the colors on the emulator accordingly. The new stuff being added on our site also aims to make a difference between NTSC / PAL aspect ratios depending on the origin of the program and adds artifacting where applicable so there may be more than the colors looking dissimilar.
