  1. Yes, the reworked version of Montezuma's Revenge (not the original Utopia Software beta) was supposed to be on cart but it ended up as a disk-only release in the US. Does anybody know what happened to the sequel, Barbados Booty? There is no disk version of Tutankham. It seems there are two versions floating around but they are just files extracted from the unreleased cartridge. Box exists, be sure to check the ad: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_soft.php?...VERSION_ID=5561 There is now evidence Mr. Do's Castle was officially released by Parker Brothers Canada. It was also sold in the US but on disk only. The manual mentions a cartridge version of Cosmic Tunnels and I believe Video 61 has it for sale. You can add the following to your list: - Hardhat Willy by Inhome Software - Gold Mine by Spectravideo - Eyes, Rockball, Gyruss by Roklan (don't know whether the first two were ever started but Gyruss definitely was) - several titles by ZiMAG probably - some four or five games by Romox - Winter Games - Ixion... Don't forget all the planned CBS Software stuff, Imagic games (Fathom, Moonsweeper...), missing SEGA or Activision programs... -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  2. There are many more if you count all third-party developers. I'll add some other titles later on. -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  3. Hi Sean, Don't know whether they support high speed but I like PicoDOS and Speed Start Initializer which won't restrict you to 8.3 filenames. I'm afraid I don't have any links so I hope someone else can help you with these two... -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  4. There's a game called Lookahead on the A8, maybe it's the same concept: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_8bits.php...VERSION_ID=3035 -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  5. http://www.atarimania.com Oh well -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  6. Hi, Basically, blast everything in sight except the men at the bottom. You need to protect these guys, pick them up and drop them over the space station (or whatever that is). The SPACE BAR is for smart bombs and any letter key activates your shield. Awesome game -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  7. Is it really THAT difficult to ask for permission first? Just because you state something on your page doesn't mean we give you some sort of blessing... What kind of a cowboy attitude is that? As for the deleted text on your cracks (which are mostly easy tape-to-disk conversions), you're right, I did this on two or three games (out of the 1,500 other images we have) because we wanted clean copies. If that makes you happy and boosts your ego, I'll admit I shouldn't have done that but, at least, we're not claiming it's our work... -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  8. Hello, Isn't that a bit lame to credit yourself for the archive when most of the box scans come from our site? -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com

  11. Simply incredible! France played very poorly, how the hell did England lose? Croatia and Switzerland were appalling, England should go through if they recover from the nightmare... -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com
  12. Thanks for all the details. If we can locate the original author or the programmer who handled the C64 conversion, we might know more... Don't expect anything for the moment but we'll look into that in the not too far future... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  13. Forgot to ask... Is the instruction booklet A8 only or multi-system? Thanks -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  14. Hello there, Is this supposed to be the sequel to Lords of Midnight? I never ever heard of the series being converted to the Atari so this is quite odd... Do the instructions state anything else? Thanks for the information -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  15. The main problem was that the A8 didn't sell well enough in the UK to ensure interesting software development, simple as that. Because of the booming home computer market (mainly with the Spectrum and C64), something like 90% of the technical creativity came from the UK at that time and the Atari had no chance. We did get Elektra Glide, Mercenary, Encounter!, Zeppelin stuff... but got virtually nothing apart from that. No Ocean, no Imagine, no Thalamus, no Mirrorsoft, no Hewson... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  16. I can't say more for the moment but you're wrong... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  17. Hi Lee, Do you have any further info on the A8 version (as I suspect both were written at the same time)? This could mean other SEGA games were in the works for the platform... The A8 program is credited so this may be a good place to start... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  18. Fantastic port, the game is super fun If I were to change just one thing, it would be the font. It would look SO much better with a non-standard character set. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  19. Before the Spectrum and C64 appeared in the UK, the 800 was clearly the king of computers if you wanted to play games. The main problem was the high price tag, meaning few British publishers developed for the platform. Most of the software being expensive US imports, it didn't help market penetration. IIRC, Maplin were the ones handling distribution, not Atari, so I believe not everything was done to ensure success... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  20. Hello folks, More on the A8 version here: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_8bits.php...28&SOFT_ID=2629 This seems to be the "original" release, not the crappy pirated version. The US GOLD copyright would indicate a forthcoming European release. SEGA probably pulled the plug before any agreement could be reached with the UK company (just my theory). Some other interesting things revealed by the code: - there is a 1983 SEGA copyright (if this is in place of the US Gold copyright, I suspect this means the company already knew the game wouldn't be released in the US) - the game size is 16KB, which could mean a cartridge release was planned - there seems to be a cheat mode! - the programmer left his name (I won't post it here because I don't know if it's a good thing but you can find it easily). Your turn now, bloodhounds -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com

  23. Hi, Credit must go to Fandal for sending this playable demo  Anyway, considering the game is written in TB, it's not bad at all... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  24. Hi, Keep an eye on our site, we already have about a thousand games available for download and keep adding some exclusive stuff regularly. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
  25. Datasoft and sister company Gentry Software used to do that. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
