Any commercial release?
www.atarimania.com replied to davidcalgary29's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
M*A*S*H and Mogul Maniac were probably released by Romox on ECPC cartridges but good luck finding them... Hot Lips was originally a game by London Software. Check the ad here: http://www.atarimania.com/detail_8bits.php...FT_LIB&SENS=ASC -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -

Spectravision Gold Mine Cartridge?
www.atarimania.com replied to Tempest's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The binary has been floating around for ages but I had never seen actual packaging for this game. Is there any label on the cartridge? Might be a proto or extremely limited run... BTW, check the SV flyer in the VCS section, you'll see the game listed as a tape-only release. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -
There was a German game called Wimbledon '88 written in BASIC. I also seem to recall an ad in ANALOG for a program named Volley Partner. I would believe there is (was) a finished but unreleased version of On-Court Tennis by Gamestar but maybe I'm just dreaming... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com

What would you like to see on cart?

Tekblast is an outstanding Bomberman clone for the A8. Probably still being sold by Sikor Soft. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -
Wow! How on earth did you hear about this mag? Do you have any back issues yourself? Anyway, I'll post your message on a French forum tomorrow... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com

Differencies between tape- and disk-games
www.atarimania.com replied to starraider's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I have to admit you're right No tape versions for Roklan games AFAIK... I think the disk version of Gorf saves scores the same way. Maybe Sea Dragon by Adventure International as well... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -

Nukey, I know that already. I never wrote the Parker Brothers version was on tape, I was just comparing the releases -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -
Differencies between tape- and disk-games
www.atarimania.com replied to starraider's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The only difference between the two is that the disk version plays in-game music. The Parker Brothers release has no music but enhanced graphics and doesn't have the scrolling GAME OVER display. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -
Differencies between tape- and disk-games
www.atarimania.com replied to starraider's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I seem to recall there's a fix to make them DOS-compatible but you'll only be able to load the created files with a TransDisk menu. You'll also have to load the game once to check the scheme used and then configure Transdisk accordingly. HowfenDOS is easier to use. Just follow the instructions and pop in the tape so the program can read it. The file is then written to a specific menu (which isn't DOS-compatible either). -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -
I second that  -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com

Yes, I wrote that "the main program and the installer are on the same disk", implying DOS is also there. Anyone from Poland willing to help? -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com

I found Transdisk IV extremely awkward to use. HowfenDOS is a much better alternative, though it doesn't give you DOS compatible files. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -
I downloaded NeoTracker and some tunes but I just can't understand how you should play these back. It seems there's some kind of installer program but all I get is a "CIO ERROR" at the prompt. The main program and the installer are on the same disk but I'm getting nowhere. Help -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com

Gauntlet was released by Mindscape in the US so there may have been a company logo there. Trailblazer is another European game published by Mindscape and it has that logo... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -

No, there are just two locations on the tape version of International Karate: side A is Sydney, side B Mount Fuji. Serpentine and Choplifter! have enhanced disk versions. Zaxxon, Astro Chase, Frogger... are different as well. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com -
Bulldog is from Hayden Software, it appeared before PCS. jnice, how many PCS games are on your disks? If they haven't been "spread" yet, we'd love to have them on our site. -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
