I almost put off purchasing Star Raiders because I figured it was a shoe-in for some kind of re-release. Omitting compatibility is a major oversight for this game alone.
I suppose somebody could hack Star Raiders use the right joystick to use inputs. I believe that game used five buttons on the pad. Maybe it’s dumb idea.

Nice link. Thanks.
I saw and played with a trackball in August.
It's a very fun experience.
Does that mean I would love to make a trackball for the 2600+, yes it certainly does, but then I'm bogged down by technical and commercial challenges which just long things out possibly to a point of its just not worth it, happens all the time.
I get what you mean, there aren’t many Atari games that can use the controller and some games have been hacked to use them.

Yes, the factory had a Trackball set up with Missile Command and Centipede playing in TB mode when I visited them, I was instantly hooked and said I need this!
So does that mean Atari can make a trackball that was designed to work with the 7800 but got cancelled for reasons?

I’m impressed the re-releases for 7800 games have color labels on the new carts.

Thanks, that means a lot! I am also the creator of another cart called Lock-On 2600. I hope @Albert can get these into the store soon!
I was wondering if that thru cart might help some problem Activision carts due to the edge connector not interfacing correctly.

I thought SMB2 was a bit of an oddball in the series when compared to the JP version.

Trackball needs to happen! We keep talking about it.
Does that mean Atari could make a mouse if they get the TB working on the 2600+?

If you have all broken pieces, that could fixed plastic cement. Plastic cement is kind like super glue except it melts the plastic a bit so the pieces fuse together when fixed.

I was wondering if a "breathing" animation can be put in. Since you're going to be standing still a lot, might as well make the caveman doing something while standing still

Have the originals become hard to find?
It more like collectors want newer Activision carts that don’t have what’s known as actiplague labels. That happens because glue in labels dries up and causes said labels to come loose or become discolored.

From my understanding the 7800 dev kits were pretty dire with little or poor documentation. I'm surprised anyone bothered to develop 7800 games at all given that Atari paid poorly, late, and sometimes didn't pay at all from what I've read in various memos.
That seems to explain a little why the later games for the system felt subpar when compared earlier 7800 games.

I would like to see a rerelease of Solaris if only see cart stickers that aren’t just greyscale. Heck, I can almost imagine a silver sticker or XP rerelease.

I kind of wish Atari would announce these games at here in forums. Not everyone spends every waking moment at Atari.com to see any new releases. I knew of the new Fatal Run release via YouTube.

I believe that arcade title is owned by Time Warner.

There is an earlier Pac-Man hack based on Ms. Pac-Man. While it’s no Pac-Man 4k or 8k, its a lot closer to the arcade version than original Atari release.

Lurker turned new poster here.
The whole situation is a bit of a bummer since I got both the 2600+ and a Harmony cart for my Dad as a B-Day gift and I'm now having to tell him I gotta flash the whole cart if he wants to play anything other than the 1 game I put on it at a time, but my experience with other communities along with just browsing here at least has me hopeful it won't be a massive issue for long, whether that's Atari doing something pro-consumer with the firmware, batari coming up with some workarounds, or people just hacking and modding the console. Most likely some combination of therein, lol.
I don't regret my purchase (since I didn't wanna get them some AtGames crap and the R77 looked REALLY ugly to me) but I am hoping for improvements. That or I'm gonna have to get some bootleg dipswitch cart off of ebay/etsy too.
Either way neither have gotten here yet so I can't fully attest to how tedious it may be.
The Harmony cart on the 2600+ should able to run demos and smaller hacked games like these:

Atari might offer a release of 7800 version of Fatal Run. I hope they offer a standard edition that’s won’t kill your wallet.

However, I think it would ruin the fascinating ritual of the original selection.
With games like Berzerk, ET, or Pac-man I suppose it isn’t big deal. Then again with games like Asteroids or Space Invaders, that’s a lot choices.

For a better interpretation of this poll, for example I wonder how many people would have voted for an XP edition of OUTLAW.
If Outlaw used the menu hack that’s available, I think people would more willing buy the XP version.

The new Berzerk game has added voices and robots that shoot diagonally.

Just checked my email. the Atari+ still not shipped, but I did get an announcement for the new Amico Home app!! It's like a consolation prize on a game show!!
Amico wishes it has problems that Atari has. I mean the Atari 2600+ at least in the hands some customers.

I was looking at the fan made bezels for this system, I thinking can bezels can made for games that aren't known have a lot bezel artwork like Neo Geo or CPS2 games. I know I've seen a standalone Samurai Showdow III cabinet back in the '90s that had custom made art but that was a rarity since most Neo Geo games came with the Neo Geo cabinets.
Odd connector slot problem

I’d say you could insert the cart and pull it out a little bit. Its because some games don’t fit correctly.
