I got another question. I can you find all the Sol Citadels? I know there in the game because I found them in the arcade and this version. I know (roughly) where the four hidden Rally-X flags are.
-
I've noticed this same thing happens on the 2600 too.
EDIT: Did you take those pictures with the flashbulb on?

OK Bakasama, got it. We want to add red - using the arcade video sample I can see what could be done.
It turns out I goofed about the red. I just played a game of this and there's IS a red color but I was just focused on the bullets. However, I think it's possible to red and blue to the bullets to make them a little less dull looking.
Well, don't worry it. I might make some mockups in the meantime.

You guys are touching on the same thoughts I have. Adding red to what, not sure what you're talking about? To the ship, or to the explosions, or everything?
Everything really, I've noticed a lot of objects in Xevious have red colors. The game plays almost like the arcade but the lack of red always bugged me.

I got question, is it possible to add the color red? The game seems a bit dull without it.

The controllers with the original flashback (that looked like a small 7800) will NOT work on the 7800. They are closer in operation to NES controllers.
So can they be modified to work with a 7800? If that's the case, somebody is going to be busy with some modding.

That reminds me, the original programmer was trying to fix this the whole game and maybe change the graphics. That was some years ago.

I was wondering what else can be added to the BIOS. I've seen a game can be added but what else?

I would welcome a remake of Karateka only if to kill that damn bird countless times over.

...And yet... I've never forgiven Rampage. I know it's a good game, but I've never forgiven the shortcomings in graphics or that there's no end to the game (like in the Lynx version). For me, my impressions seem to be based on when I got a game. Rampage was the last commercial game I acquired (around 1995) and by that time, I already had the C64 and Lynx versions.
According to the posters on the Lynx board, there is an end to the Lynx version of Rampage. Still, doesn't change the fact the 7800 version of Rampage doesn't have an end. It could stand to look a little better tho.

In general the graphics didn't compare to either SMS or NES. I don't blame the hardware for that, though. The only game that really stood out was Tower Toppler. Sadly, that was the ONE GAME I could never find in stores >:-(
I didn't find in stores either but I just ordered it direct from Atari Corp. back in the 80's.

I thought game was unfinished but it was complete enough to be playable?

I use WinonX, it works with the prosystem with some weird sounds at time but at least I can play the 7800 homebrews. I just use it just because too much trouble just to use WINE for that.
You could try using SDLMESS but like it's name it is a mess from user standpoint.
Prosystem is suppose to be open source but I've haven't seen anyone attempt to port that Mac OSX

I've tried this on my macbook. I wasn't expecting a trainer but it is fun to see how fast the grunts go without dying.

I've played the arcade version on MAME and there doesn't seem to be an end. It seems to loop back to the beginning at some point.

You do have a point about Winonx. I've tried several programs with it. The only windows programs I can get to work on that is the Prosystem emulator and flash games in the form exe files.
I tried Wineskin but I just don't "get" it. I mean would love to play Torchlight 2 or see if League of Legends playable on my Mac. I just find it hard to the setup.
So is the point of this project is to have a disassembly that's usable on Xcode or any windows compiler?

Cuz this 7800 Robotron X game that's about to hatch tends to crash my Prosystem Emulator, although maybe that's because I'm running XP on my Mac running as a Mac...You run Prosystem Emulator on you Mac? I use Winonx run that, it saves me the trouble of running Windows at all.

Hmm, what he's doing might be useful. I recall that Curt released the source for one 7800 game but it isn't the final version. The source for that game wasn't found and I can't remember which that was.

I am interested to know what Atari hardware this game ran on.

It sounds like a few steps away from "Hey, I bet this would sound great with a POKEY!"

Say isn't the Japanese name of this game Area 88?
-
There's an issue with Mac SDLMESS, it's a command line app. So unless the user is used to command lines, those are pretty difficult to get running.
-
No, there isn't. Although you can use WINE type program to make that work on a Mac.
I use WinonX run ProSystem on my Mac.

The neat thing about the switches is that if you fool around with them a bit, you can get unlimited lives.

Kevin, I was wondering, can the title art be modified to say, "Super Xevious"?
