Marc,
Boxes look great, except for one thing.
Your character's name does evolve into "Mario" in the future (In Donkey Kong Jr). Right now though, he is only referred to as "Jumpman".
As a side note: The woman, often referred to as Pauline, received her name when the game was distributed to North American. In Japan, she was only known as "the Lady".
So it's the lady's name in Japanese is "Onna no Hito-san"?

What about Lalaloopsies? LMFAO
If it were a rare "My Little Pony" my wife would be buying plane tickets to your place. Those damn things are everywhere in my house.

hmm, I got to ask this. Does your wife make her own custom ponies? Anyway about your wife's collecting I think it beats being married to a brony.

You could try Robotron. One guy controls the character and the other just shoots.

Is that pallet pic the most correct possible? I might use that for some upcoming mockup 7800 screenshots.
-
How come you're using JPG as the format for those screenshots? Shouldn't you be using GIF or PNG? JPGs tend to be less than pixel perfect and tend to add more unnecessary colors.

I haven't played a real 7800 in years but do remember clearly that when you Xevious, the the greens start as green but over time the color changes in a brown color. That was with NTSC tv.

@ PFL
Now that's what I'm talking about. I mean you call on hackers to make ET better without suggestions on how to do it. Some might think that some random yahoo like Hardwork suggested such an idea.
Now, on the topic on hand, I recall that ET shares some of the same coding as Raiders of the Lost Ark. Now, I'm not sure if that's true but some gameplay of Raiders put into ET might make the game more interesting. Like using the second joystick to select and use ET's power.
I did have a hack idea some years ago, it was a color/graphics hack of ET called Escape from Neverland. The scientist would be Michael Jackson, the FBI agent would be security, and Elliott would be Bubbles.

Umm, do you have any idea HOW to make this a better game? I'd think the would help a lot to the any would be hackers.

I got question about the 7800 version of Donkey Kong. Is this port based on the Japanese arcade version or the American version. I do remember they have a different level order from each other and the placement of the hammer in the first level might be based on the Japanese version.

I like your mockup. I've done a few things different like the multicolored girders and support for the oil can. I also added Pauline's hat.
The missing hat is because I played game on MAME and took a screenshot when I was at that level. I just took the hat before the shot and just forgot to add it back in when I crafting the mockup. Still, I'm glad you like the mockup.

Did anyone rip the sprites from this game? I wonder if anyone was crazy enough to make a mugen games with SF: Movie sprites with MK sprites for a SF VS. MK game.

That looks like my edited screenshot:

I made this over a year ago.

Arguing about what (dead) game system is superior? I thought we're grown men!

I suppose it beats being a hack about MLP.

It seems like you missed this thread:
http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/158430-rom-hacks-to-support-2-buttons-with-genesis-controllers/
Although, I think mapping the other weapons to the keyboard controller for the player 2 side might have been a better option.

Honestly, I think a Starcraft II map edit based on Robotech is far more likely than a 7800 Robotech homebrew.
-
sure, do it. Sometime the search doesn't seem to work right.
-
I guess you try to convert the enemies too and the monsters getting punched.

You mean the Popcorn tunes this video?

I think the Pokey can do some of these tunes.

All this talk about 7800 graphics makes me want to more Crystal Castles and Pengo sprites.

I thought you would've asked him about Double Dragon.
-
I think he's considered an idiot who set his goals a bit too high. It's funny the posters here put more effort in this than Hardwork ever did.

Ambrosia's shareware classics. Not including their clones, it's worth it for Escape Velocity alone. It's a space game where you start out as a trader and eventually improve your ship with weapons and such. There's like some intergalactic warfare going on and you can choose which side to aid. It's been a while since I played but I remember playing the heck out of it.
I love Escape Velocity, I do remember I had problems playing in Classic Mode on my G5 but Escape Velocity Override worked fine.

Something tells me you haven't been here very long. Kenfused has been programming 7800 games before Bob did.
