  1. I looking at the credits list and I see there's few 7800 games listed that don't get a mention in atariprotos, like "Track and Field" and "Rescue on Fractalus". I'm not sure if any exists now but it's an interesting look at the history.
  2. I don’t I seen this addressed anywhere, does the color/bw switch pause the 7800 games?
  3. Assuming that Albert can get supply of cart shells from Atari, that might mean new homebrew circuit boards might have designed that fit in the these new shells.
  4. I was wondering if new Atari carts shells designs are any different from older Atari carts.
  5. For those interested, here’s an updated cart list of the 2600+ pdf:
  6. I’d say Atari/PLAION made sure carts would at least fit the in the slot. As to the 2600+ cart slot, I don’t think it possible because the cart slot and bezel are one unit. I recall Curt did reengineer the 7800 cart slot to fit every cart years ago when he was working the XM. However, since he passed, I’m not sure if there is a way to get those now.
  7. You could try this thread: Only because Ben from PLAION posts and reads that thread
  8. It's no big surprise since Genesis gamepads aren't wired for 7800 games just 2600 games but think there was the Seagull 78 adapter from edladdin might do. Still, I have yet see anyone get the C button work with the 2600 two button hacks on the 2600+.
  9. I think someone got those controllers work with a Mega 7800 adaptor.
  10. According to Ben, Atari is making new versions of the 7800 joypads.
  11. So the only part that is interchangeable between the models is the part that covers that joystick shaft.
  12. Since we’re talking about Berzerk, here a promo vid with Dennis Debro and Mike Mika talk about the game.
  13. I got a question, are the cart guide and bezel are one unit. That’s what it looks like.
  14. About those 7800 controllers, here Ben shows the insides of the 7800 joypads with old ones side by side with newer ones that Atari is going to be making.
  15. It just kills me that there’s a box for Warlords featured here.
  16. Im curious about the new wireless joysticks. The ones released by the Atari of old was two bulky CX40 controllers that used 9 volt batteries and receiver that used 2600 power supply and used DE9 connectors.
  17. Well, Curt did have schematics for track-ball controller for the 7800. That might get made.
  18. I was wondering, will it be easy for people to tinker these controllers, like rewire a cx40 to add another fire button.
  19. is it possible add more frames of animation to the caveman?
  20. I think closest anyone can get six buttons is a Sega Genesis six button controller with maybe an adapter. Plus there must be a game that is programmed to use the controls.
  21. Looking at these mock-ups give me the impression that the 7800 can do 5200/8bit graphics with ease, with more colors and sprites. I’m still trying get how 7800 graphics work, I get how 2600 draws per scan line with very little RAM and how CPS2 and Neo Geo draws their sprites, more or less. The 7800 seems be a real beast with sprite handling.
  22. If I'm understand this correctly, 160B mode has a lot of colors to use and spare a lot of time. A game like Xevious can have more colors to use, like red. I felt the color depth in that game seems to bit lacking when compared to arcade version.
  23. Choplifter does have problems but I can at least finish the game with a perfect score.
