  1. Theatarifan is excellent. Got a few items from him--shipped fast with no issues and easy communication. Great guy.
  2. Yes, that one would fall into the exception... games that don't show up enough to get a true aggregate price. If you click to look at the individual sales, you can see that the game bringing it down is a 7800 version of Mario Bros that is missplaced with the computer version...it sold for $7.50. So you have to account for that and try to "manually" correct the price based on the other sales data available. But one of the cool things about PriceCharting is it goes back much further than ebay. So while you can only see the past few months of sold items on ebay, you can see the final sale price for the last few years on PriceCharting. For a common game, going that far back is unnecessary, but it's great for super rare games that only pop up once every few months on ebay. To your point, though, the site has its flaws, but it's definitely a great resource to keep handy in the right spots. I like to use it at flea markets, yard sales, etc. too, because it's much faster than ebay for looking up a stack of games that I'm unfamiliar with.
  3. First off, very nice collection. I just got an Atari XEGS a few months back, so I'm in the market for games like these. Archon, for example, is a game I've been looking for. As for your question about pricing....it's tough, because most pricing guides are either outdated (like the Digital Press guides) or don't adequately cover the 8-bit Atari stuff. Ebay is still the best bet, but how about Pricecharting.com? If you haven't used it, it's a great site for estimating game prices, because it aggregates the sales history on Ebay and Amazon to come up with an estimated price. It's generally very accurate, except for rare games that don't pop up often enough to get an aggregate price. One other problem is that it focuses mostly on the NES and later video game systems, so it's coverage of older games is more limited (especially older computers). But it does cover some Atari 400/800 stuff, so worth checking out at least. And usually much faster than using ebay to come up with prices.
  4. Bump. I've been unable to do the ADT method yet. If anyone is able to make a copy of Oregon Trail, please PM me. I would gladly paypal you for your time and disk. Much appreciated. I'm just not very knowledgeable when it comes to computers in general, especially classic computers.
  5. Bought a TI99/4A game from McCallister. Very easy to work with; and fast shipping and perfect packaging too. Thanks!
  6. Hey guys. I've been visiting Atari Age for years, but just finally signed up for the forums recently. I plan to use the Marketplace, but since I'm new to the forums, I wanted to start my feedback thread myself, in order to provide some background to make fellow buyers/sellers a little more comfortable working with me. So, here's a few things: I've been a collector, and buying and selling games online, for over 15 years now. Before Atari Age, I used the Digital Press forum for buying and selling with fellow collectors (that forum has died down over the years and you guys keep going strong; hence the switch for me). You can check my feedback at Digital Press-- I believe that I used the handle MF_Luder for most of my transactions there. On ebay, I use the name Retro_Strife for buying and selling. On Amazon, I'm currently using the name *Quick_Books for my sales. I'm active on the videogamecritic.com forum under the name Retro Strife. I strongly believe that the only way these online trades works is with fair, friendly, and honest transactions, and hope for the same in return. I wouldn't jeopardize my reputation by doing any transaction any other way. Please feel free to leave me feedback here. Thanks!
  7. What cable do we need for the PC-to-Apple II connection? Is it something I can find on Amazon or just on the specialized webstores?
  8. Good point. Sorry about that; my mistake, I didn't see the subforum section before posting. If a mod can move it, please feel free.
  9. Hey guys. Looking to buy a copy of the first Oregon Trail game, to play on an Apple IIe. 5.25" floppy. Thanks.
