  1. That's quite the price to pay for a game like that. Nothing as bad as buying an expensive game then discovering that it's terrible. Is it the SNES port of that Dragon's Lair style game? It doesn't look all that good.
  2. Thank you, Anthony! Yes, I chose Last Resort, as I was talking about the Neo Geo anyway, so I might as well have some gameplay from the system. I played a little bit of the game. Not enough to really give much of an opinion, but I certainly enjoyed what I played!
  3. I remember playing the Game Boy version of it. Horrible game, possibly one of the worst I've played.
  4. Sorry guys about the lack of posting, I have been busy for a while now! Getting back on track with what appears to be a semi-regular thing, another question! As we have had a lot of positives, let's go negative. What is the worst SNES game you have played? I remember owning a terrible Thomas the Tank Engine game as a kid, but no specifics come to mind.
  5. Hello everyone! As promised, here's my newest video: 'Do Console Specs Matter?'. While this video isn't specifically about any NEO GEO consoles, I feel it is relevant to NEO GEO discussion, and the video mentions the NEO GEO AES as a point of comparison. So, enjoy! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9MIfbK3IzI
  6. That looks really cool! So clean and crisp visuals. People really can do some amazing things with old consoles nowadays. Review scores seem to of been driven upwards today. In theory, 6/10 should be 'above average', but now many people believe a game rated that is awful, which is a same. This is one of the reasons I'm kinda against review scores, as the meaning of a number is ambiguous.
  7. Missed one! Too many post to count, was going to miss one at some point! Anyway, thanks for sharing your story with us. Certainly a great one, so many good things you got there! I guess that job was worth it, then? Clearly bagged you a bargain!
  8. Wow, so many posts to reply to! This'll take a while... Before starting this thread, I had no idea about any of these devices. This is now a real possibility to help me play many SNES games I couldn't before. It has been posted multiple times by other users, and I do agree that it is awesome! Exactly, Byron! Any games in particular you'd like to see on there? Really? I didn't know that. It's always interesting to see a game get adapted for a licensed property. Thanks for sharing! I really like that photo. I love the jacket and the cartridge designs. Thanks for sharing that awesome photo with us! Thanks for the information, I will certainly be on the lookout for this ever-increasing list of things to buy!
  9. Thanks for all the information! Once I gather the money to do so, I will certainly look further into the options you have given me, to see if emulation is my thing. I will post my experiences with such devices, if I ever get them. Again, thanks!
  10. I never knew those controllers existed. Thanks for sharing with us, this should be most useful.
  11. You could, yes, but there's the problem of the controller and finding decent ROM's as well.
  12. Believe me, if I had infinite money, I would get the original hardware every time, just that it isn't practical when there's a cheaper alternative. I agree we should keep the originals intact and use them, but an emulator can help those who cannot play most of the games play some of them, such as in my case.
  13. I actually own a SNES myself. If I were to buy an emulator like that, it would be for the games on it. If I were to buy every cartridge for every SNES game I wanted to own, it would be way too expensive for me to do. Buying an official emulation console is the next best thing. Super Punch Out is great, but I can't think of any you're missing, besides obscure SNES games. If we were to list those, though, we'd be here all day. Besides, the obscure games tend to also be expensive.
  14. Who doesn't love him? I can see it now: Anthony, the NEO GEO comedy man! On a more SNES related note, I would like to ask another question, to re-ignite this thread into action! With talk of the new NES Classic Mini, would you guys like to see that sort of Console for the SNES, and what games would you like for it? I would love games that I've always wanted to play, but were either too rare or too expensive for me to get. Games like Super Metroid, Crono Trigger, others like that. Then, we could have a collection of Mario games, such as Super Mario World (1 and 2), and maybe Super Mario Kart? I'm randomly thinking here, would love to see your suggestions!
  15. That's an absolutely awesome collection you've got there Mayhem! So many classics of the SNES era right there. I see my personal favourite, Mega Man X there. Thanks for sharing that with us! I understand the habit of never finishing games. I did that a lot as a kid. Good luck finishing both Final Fantasy II and III, should be pretty cool to do!
  16. There are so many trends here. Well deserved trends, as the music in all those games are great. I love Sim City's soundtrack: so soothing.
  17. Thanks very much! Not sure if I've mentioned this, but another piece of music I love is that from Taz-Mania, the obscure game I showcased earlier on this thread. That music was really catchy, and suited a Loony Tunes game really well.
  18. I am much more familiar with Donkey Kong Country 2, as that is the one I had as a child. The variety of music in the game makes each area so unique to play in, as well as the brilliantly designed levels.
  19. I appreciate that pun there Anthony! Anyway, I must of also been crazy not including Donkey Kong Country myself. I love the music in it, a truly great game.
  20. I LOVE the music in the Donkey Kong games. So atmospheric and relaxing, while also somehow building tension at the same time.
  21. I've got an EU SNES, and all my games are from here, so I've never had these sort of problems. Good luck trying to get a Super Famicom cartridge for cheap over in Britain!
  22. I certainly will do. Good choice for the greatest SNES soundtrack!
  23. Sorry Byron, somehow forgot to reply to you! I agree with F-Zero. Such adrenaline pumping music making you want to race as fast as possible. It's great!
  24. Fantastic choices for soundtracks, Anthony. I love the Starwing music, especially the Corneria theme. It's one of my favourite pieces of music in gaming history. Fast-paced, and yet somehow atmospheric. That's great that you got it at launch and got it repaired for free. I didn't get my SNES until the early 2000's, so I was a tad late. And I understand the mastery of the game. I used to be able to play Starwing without losing a life. Somehow I've gotten worse over the years, but hey, I don't mind. Go back to the 90's and say to anyone you had both a Genesis and SNES. It'll blow the mind of anyone in the time of the Sega/Nintendo console wars.
  25. Thanks Anthony! I also have the 'Do Console Specs Matter?' video in the works, and I'll post it on the NEO GEO thread when that's done. Anyway, enough about video ideas, back to the SNES discussion! I want to ask all of you: What is your favourite music in SNES history? Mine would be a mix of both Starwing and Mega Man. Catchy songs that build atmosphere are always amazing!
