Well we do have: from: http://www.schells.com/cc2.shtml Now the question is: Has there been any new games that Chad can not make a bak switch file for? Someone sad that the CC2 will play 2600 games on a 7800 that the same game will not play with the cart. This had something to do with the "sync" line or something that the CC2 has and a 2600 cart does not. We will have to have Bruce Tomlin speak about it.

I added the new entries by MayhemUK and assigned companies to them and I also added companies to other’s that didn’t have them before. I uploaded the updated DB and I updated the: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/Chk4NewMenuItems.html and http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2MenuGen.html and just the db at: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2ROMDB.zip I found the the jar in the zip file of the Java Menu Generator didn’t seem to work, so I added just a link to the jar file on the site. I ran the Java Menu Generator with the new entries and I got more recognized roms in the menu. Anyone else have hand entered new menu items in your cc2 menu? Thanks.

Thank you  I will add...

Sorry, I tried to be clear Any suggestions on how to make the instructions more clear would be gladly accepted. Does this mean that you have sub-dir’s on your MMC? Or how can you have any different then <root>MENU.CC2 and <root>GAME<gameNames>.BIN? Thanks for the new entries, but I forgot to add the CRC to the output! So can you d/l and try it again? Please! The program only looks at if the CRC is in the database, so all of these versions of binary files are not in the current database. I don’t know if we need to have an approval process for entries in the database but I will add them to mine.

If you have hand entered new menu items into your cc2 menu, then I would like your help. Can you please run this program that check if they are in the CC2ROMDB.TXT. It puts all the entries that are not in the DB into an output file. You can then post the resulting entries here. You can get the program here: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/Chk4NewMenuItems.html Thank you very much. I will be updating the one I keep on my site: See also: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=61860

You all don't mention the price factor. Is correct to say that the 800XL is most produced of the bunch and therefore cheaper?
-
Ok I put a link to the database in that page or <a href="http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2ROMDB.zip">here</a> I hope this helps... btw, the text in the box in the picture above, is examples of what you would see in your CC2 menu and as you add and remove sections you will see that example being added or removed.

Ok here is the GUI menu generation stuff. and I am yet to look at the other stuff.
-
One thing I forgot is that I have to hook up the old hard drive, soo it will be a while. What about the "good roms" utility, that util seems to have all the signatures, that and Stella has one also, is there anyway to get one of these databases?
-
Someone here (sorry I don't remember who) gave me his menu with ROMs and I updated the rom db with that. It mostly added Hacks. So if you want the new db I can put it up somewhere. I wrote some code in Java to update the data base for me, when given a menu and roms and I can put this up too. I also wrote a new menu generator with a new cc rom db that included company and so it would output the menu in company ordered sections and or the standard title sorted. I should put that up on my Java stuff. So much time and so little to do. Wait a minute. Strike that. Reverse it.

I didn't even think of asking how much, but my wife (this is the wife that thinks all my VG stuff is crap), talked them down to $35 for it. And being from China, should be able to get it at a swap meet for less. But because this is supposta be about the 7800, I want a portable 7800, please, so I can slap the CC2 in it and go!

This weekend I saw this 150 NES games peace of crap (cheap plastic, made in china, pirate job) at the mall and it has a NES port! http://www.nesplayer.com/pirates/superjoyiii.htm And I thought if they could do it with this think, why not the Flash Back?

And you can buy your friend (if he still has it), and fix it with a little help from AtariAge people. If it can be fixed that is.

That was funny! No a CX-2600 can not play 7800 carts! The only cart that was 7800 in the lot was Dig Dug and he says: Gee, I wonder why?
-
Maybe they will come out with a latter version with a port because of customer demand. (a-la, we want the old Coke back.) Or someone here will find a way to hack in a cart slot. If this is truly the old system and can work with carts. Do you think they put any expansion capabilities? It would be dumb not to, as they can get another $10-$20 for 20 more in a expansion cart thing. Because: I know 20, is not my idea of filled!

Q: what is this white cable for? A: The 7800 had a special connector that the power supply uses to connect to the 7800. The seller is only giving you the cord (I think). So you will have to get DC 9V 1A and use the wire he gave you to connect to the 7800 unit. Q:does it have the same connections as 2600? A: The 7800 has connections for TV and joysticks. TV connection: an RCA type connecter that you will need to connect to your TV Cable some how. See: How do I hook up my Atari to a TV? and you could buy Coaxial (F-Type) to Female RCA Adapter Joystick connections You can use regular 2600 joysticks to play all 2600 games and a some of 7800 games (mostly the arcade ports). Most of the 7800 games needed 2 botton 7800 joysticks to play. I hope this helps.

This is not mine! Just thought you would like it. (My cube mate took a class with the guy who did it.)
-
Hay someone understands me! I should find my extention cables and use them too.

For some reason, Wico made a 5200 joystick with db -9 pin connector (like 2600) but was analog! Did this look like the one at the bottom of this page?:http://www.atariage.com/5200/archives/hardware.html

I never said anything about the joystick. On power-up you have to hit reset, then it works fine. It's the display that's screwed up. Sorry, I was interpreting: this to mean that it stopped working when you move the joystick. As in you move the joystick and get a blue screen of death It would be nice to have a debugger in one of these emulaters. Bruce Tomlin do think that would be as good as a 6502 ICE? As far as being able to land, has anyone tried a touch pad for the right controller or 2nd joystick?

I can play Robot Tank on my 7800. http://www.atariage.com/7800/faq/index.htm...mID=7800#cat3_3 The FAQ has a lot of info, Please read! Robot Tank 1 Yes

Here is what I think we got so far: kenfused has got the middle blank part to be every other line in MESS (with rescue2.zip) Bruce Tomlin has got the same thing going on a CC2 without the joystick working. The question here is why can MESS work with the joystick and the CC2 not? I cannot seem to land in MESS or know what buttons to make stuff happen other than just flying around, has anyone got it to do more than that? Bruce Tomlin are you still using the .bin file appended to itself (to make it 64K) and 78SC_R16 bankswitch setting?
-
This works a ton better for me, now you can see more! Thank you kenfused.

Firstly, the .a78 format won't work with the CC2. I tried simply renaming it to a .bin and tried a few different settings with no luck. You'd need to strip off the first 128 bytes to return the a78 to .bin format. So is this the same as 7800 Crossbow and Alien Brigade as the menu generate can fix them by moving the first 128 * 1024 extra bank from the start to the end of the ROM file?
