I attached my own connecter when I bought a 7800 only box. I found that my Sega Master System (SMS) had the same specs and so I found a female connecter for the SMS converter. I strapped it to the circuit board with a cable-tie. Works for me. This always makes me think how much the parts in the SMS are the same in the 7800. Like if someone came up with a hybrid that played both, they would probably have very little SMS or 7800 specific circuitry. About a year after that I found a 7800 with converter and joystick.

O'Shea is looking for someone to reverse engineer 7800
Mot replied to kheffington's topic in Atari 7800
What about 2600 on a chip person? Would he be willing to do this if the price is right? And I don't think s-video would be a cost factor. I would buy one if I could play it on the go (protable). -
I don't know if this helps but the 2600 version only works on the right joystick for one player. So maybe you should try using the right side and not the left.

And for a not as good as AA, here is another history page

It is for kids. The buttons are very large, making it easy for them to hit the correct one. Hay, this Controller is for KIDS! Silly rabbit.

Can we make a new CC2ROMDB.TXT with what you have so far? or do you know the crc's for the roms? I can send an exe that will create a crc for any file. This will take some doing for 1,000 files I know.

Colorado Only long post about 1 store I think this was a good store so I will post a very long discription of it. I went to the Flea Market in Colorado Springs and found a place with a lot of loose 2600 carts. I found about 4 that I didn't have but I passed on them but the woman/girl there claimed that they had more at the store, so I went there: They have loose 2600 carts at the store, and about the same or less then the Flea Market. The ones at the store I saw that I don't have and I passed up are: Space Cavern 3 infiltrate 3 sky skipper 3 gi joe 3 fast eddie 4 bermuda triangle 4 gangster alley 4 tac scan 3 commando raid 2 a 4 switch system for $50 and (at Flea Market) a Vader for $50. They did have a coleco system for $100, and they where selling NES systems for $50. At the store in box 2600 games (re-shrink wrapped): Asteroids Dig Dug Video Pinball Night Driver Pitfall (I should have got it) Joust they also had two Epyx 500XJ joysticks for $5 and keyboard controller for $10 Jaguar 3 Jaguar systems for $30 ton of loose carts and some cd and some boxed. Lynx: 2 systems for $100 and some games 8-bit: basic, dk, and Qix (I got that) 5200: loose carts they had where common and where $3 each I got a Frogger (rarity 2) and BuckRogers (3). 7800 only a loose Xevious The Goodwill nearby to GameLand had 7800 Galaga. GameLand Fountain Store Location 143 Fontaine Blvd Colorado Springs, Co 80911 open 7 days a week 719.393.9394 south of Colorado Springs Flea Market store: 5225 e. What used to drive you crazy, as a kid, with your Atari 2600
Mot replied to Kenwood's topic in Atari 2600
The bat in Adventure! "I jumped!, I jumped!" (hitting the button just slightly too late) Kid: "I want to play Atari" Other family member: "too bad, I got the TV first!" The black cover coming off the joystick and playing with the white stick. jittery paddles. Not having a b-day or x-mas or money for that game you gotta have. Knowing people could really impresses the "Mad Bomber," and never getting anywhere close! -
So then, it is just my bad luck that I can't find a 5200 console. I have found a few 2600 consoles, and I have found 2 7800 consoles ( I bought both) but never a 5200 Ok sorry, just letting off steam.
-
Atari 5200 Hardware and Accessories What would you all say is the relationship between the consoles? Would you say something like: 2600 70% 5200 5% 7800 25% and I was not even adding the Lynx and Jaguar systems.
-
Hay I'm in Colorado! Can you give up this spot? Have you ever seen a 5200 for sale? I am still looking for one, I don't know why I don't just bid on one on e-bay.
-
When I play this I pull the plunger back and then press the fire button and that launches the ball into the playfield. Does that not work for you?
-
I have not d/l this in a long time but does it now play 2600 games?

I think it is because people seem to get offended when someone hand holds them too much (I say mostly Americans like me ) But this board can help anyone with getting though the setup of the MMC and I know Chad will help too. I know I thought I would have to format the MMC and I tried to but my version of Windows (ME) does not have an option “/fs:FAT” in the format command. So I tried it without formatting and it worked fine, I don’t know if I was chancing it or anything. Did you get your MMC setup or did you need some help? I guess getting though the steps in “Quick Start Steps” in the manual could be hard on people that never say the DOS prompt before.

If this can be authenticated as a manufacturing error, you could make some money on it!

Did you use 2K or 4K and 78BIOS for all of them? Does this work mostly? We could have a program: 1. use the original name as the menu name. 2. use 2K for 2K games or 4K for 4K games otherwise don't use? 3. always use 78BIOS 4. Cut the original down to 8.3 and if a file is not already there, use it, otherwise rename / keep trying. If a game is bigger than 4K, I guess you will need to know the bank switching.

OK, it looks like I will start something here but anyway… Yes, if you think big and bulky is simple. It looks like a PC’s CPU box but black with some green on it. I really don’t see how the XBOX is that much better looking then Gamecube or PS2 but then again I like smaller more then bigger. As for "serious", Gamecube does IMO look toyish and not serious, but PS2 looks just as serious as XBOX to me. I think both the 5200 and the XBOX are other computers put into a special box and called a game system. Didn't Bill want people to play games on the PC Jr at the time the 5200 was around? Or was that already dead at that time.

The files .a26 are the same as bin files! and the menu generator will look at them and see if they match what is in the CC2ROMDB.TXT. As for the .a78 should be the same but I don't know why, but the roms for the 7800 from this site, do not work. Do get them from www.atari7800.org The changes I made in controller type in cc2 menu thread, was just that, I added the controller type to the names of the roms in the CC2ROMDB.TXT. I didn't change the number of roms that it recognizes. It is still there if u-all want the controller type in the menu: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/ctlMenu.html

Are you going to get some sleep now? (Besides work that is) Anyway thank you very much for your hard work.
-
I found one at the thrift sans adapter. I found that the Sega Master System adapter is the same, so I changed the 7800's power interface to use the SMS one.
-
Ya, the only ones I found (for instant gradification) where: $40 64M $60 128M Are you going to do what Chad said: and then wait?

Not all of us have floppies on our computers anymore. :-) You know maybe he should have used a MMC to put this stuff on I think CD's are cheaper then a floppy now a-days and in my experience lately floppies only seem to work half of the time! Well that could just be me. BTW: my CD's case was broke on arrival but the CD survived.

I can keep fixing/changing this stuff (I guess ) as people find stuff to change. I will look at changing this. I was thinking about this last night, there was someone who had a site with this information but don't know now. If anyone knows this info let me know. Thanks

If you don't see the picture, You can go here maybe? http://www.geocities.com/mot505/ctlMenu.html

I just updated the db file here it is: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2ROMDB.TXT You can replace your CC2ROMDB.TXT and then run the menu generater. To see this on your own CC2. I just used the controller page here at AA and updated a list of them in a file, then I took that and had a program update the CC2ROMDB.TXT. I know I could not find some of the ROM's in CC2ROMDB.TXT. Here is what I started with http://www.geocities.com/mot505/controller.txt
