  1. I did write/convert the memu generate in Java but I don't think anyone cares because there is code for Linux. I guess I will come up with a relational thing that has all the non-joystick crc numbers and the controller type and then put in a link-up in my java code and then output the controller to the right side. If you all are interasted, I can then add this code to the C code. I can keep that on the link above when I get it done. With my wife going on vaca with-out me, I should have time to actually do it.
  2. It would be nice to know if a game uses something other than a joystick. Like maybe changing the menu name to like this: P:Kaboom P:Circus Atari Kd:Cookie Monster Munch Kd:Big Bird's Egg Catch Kd:Oscar's Trash Race K:Basic Programming K:Brain Games B:Omega Race (if it was in there) B:Thrust in the CC2ROMDB.TXT maybe? What do you all think?
  3. Just got it! I gotta say, (without a MMC cart) I just got a paperwieght. So now I have to run out and get one for $40 - 64M or 128M for $60 or wait and get it on line. I already got the card reader at OfficeMax for $10 - $10 mail in rebate. Should I try it without the card? Will it say please insert card or something? or will it break it?
  4. It showing up now, I guess it just got picked up: May 7, 2004 9:23 am Picked up by FedEx Estimated delivery date May 12 So you all that already got it be glad!
  5. This is strange, I got the e-mail from shells.com domain: computer generated: CHAD SCHELL of SCHELL'S ELECTRONICS sent Tom ****** a FedEx Express Saver Package. but I hit the link and the FedEx site says number is unknown. Well I hope I get this today (and before my wife sees it) ------------------------------------------------------------- Chad, I would be glad to have you except my java version of the menu generate code to add to your until's page. They can be found at this page.
  6. Huh? But there really are two different versions of Asteroids. One with the copyright at startup, and one without. Yes, but I don't know English! What I wanted to say was: CC2ROMDB.TXT has both versions of 2600 Asteroid ROMs going to the same output name "ASTEROID.BIN" and when you have both versions in the input area, the program will get to the second one and then over write the first's ASTEROID.BIN file with the seconds information and think it has two rom's instead of just one. A solution would be to change the CC2ROMDB.TXT and have one go to ASTEROID.BIN and the other go to ASTERDCR.BIN or I can change my program to just output one.
  7. If some CC2s would get assembled and shipped, maybe more people could try it out. (Yeah, I know, we're waiting on the board assembly place right now, and they're busy.) Well anyone can create a MMC card or the file structure on your computer to get ready for the CC2. I was thinking ppl could try making these now, instead of waiting last minute that way we will know the problems sooner.
  8. I run this in a DOS (command prompt) window with: java -jar CC2MenuGen.jar You will need the CC2ROMDB.TXT from one of the zips at http://www.schells.com/cc2utils/cc2files.shtml
  9. I created the menu generate in Java at here: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2MenuGen.html Things to note: 1. CRC 32 is not the same in the CC2ROMDB.TXT compared to the CRC in the winzip util. So I could not use the built in java code to compute. 2. There are 2 different entries for Asteroids in the CC2ROMDB.TXT and this program will report one more rom file then it actually got. I can't believe that there are two roms. 3. And of course: use at your own risk. If someone can run this on a MAC, that would be nice.
  10. I have to plug my super breakout story book I found.... WARNING: These files contain cheesy material, downloader discretion is advised.
  11. Dan Boris thank you for all the work you have done. You have been around sence the start of MAME at least (what about 1995ish) and you seem to be always doing something. I have a few questions for you: Q: Why is this emu separate from MESS? Q: Is MESS still going strong? Q: Will MESS get these changes? Thanks.
  12. What Database do you use? is it MySQL or some M$ product?
  13. did you all see this in Excel?: =SUM(IF(FREQUENCY(MATCH(Title,Title,0),MATCH(Title,Title,0))>0,1)) for Unique titles? You have to: Insert->name->define and select the entire Title row and then name it Title
  14. So I will not be able to play PAL ROMs on my 7800 with CC2 because they have no didgital signature required by my NTSC 7800 or did someone add the signature to the roms?

  16. I have been dieing to get my hands on a Riddle of the Sphinx Rarity 2!!! for the longest time (about 2 years). I just found it loose for $3.
  17. I just looked and found that Tank Command is a 7, that means I actually have a 7 Woo-hoo! So I guess, I did good at picking this up for $5 and some Water Ski carts because they where 6 rarity at the time and now 4
  18. Yes it was. I have no reference to how much memory cost back then, but I do know back around '92-93 when I upgraded my chachine w/2MB of RAM it costs me about $200.00 so 10-15 year before then I'm sure it was expensive for 4k, etc as well. I found this: This quote is about Adventure a 4K game! This is at:http://www.toadstool.net/games/adventure/i.../interview1.htm
  19. The Status page is what I have been looking at: http://www.schells.com/cc2.shtml#Status
  20. I could be wrong here but I thought putting 12V into something desighned to use 10V is a bad thing! But I know you electronic geniuses will have more info.
  21. They should make a Atari 800 version of Adventure II
  22. I have the box to Epyx 500XJ: Epyx 500XJ picures (big images) As you can see the box is not the greatiest. Don't know if you-all want these. Or if you want more, I can create. This has a catalog but is mostly other system's games and a page on other system joysticks.

    7800 Ms Pac Man

AHHH, Now the legs make more sense! He was trying to set the character apart from Pacman. Maybe?
  24. I wonder if they would use it to overlay the score and other "changing" on screen information? That information doesn't require hi-res graphics. The Laseractive does something similar to this. Tempest This makes me think of the arcade game Fire Fox that had sky seens from the video disk and the computer put the game part on top (F-15's). Do you think that this is what they were thinking?
