OK, I'll look into it and get back to you.

If you selected all three check boxes, then you will have to go past all the usual entries sorted by game name to the part that has them sorted by company name then then to the part where it is sorted by controller type. or go backwards to see the controller type section.

I guess a script to add the stuff you want could be done using the CC2ROMDB.TXT that I wrote. The hard part of what you want is sorting the game name while ignoring the prefix. I think only a few people seem to want to sort their CC2 menu in different ways other than just game name around here. ? One thing I would like to have a 2 level menu on the cc2 so the top level would be: GAME NAME COMPANY NAME CONTROLLER TYPE Once you select one of these choices, the sub menu would appear with a list of the games in that order. That would be realy spiffy dude!

In the DB that I created I have company as one of the attributes this takes care of "Hacks" as this is listed as Hacks as the company. I was thinking of putting a check box in my Java Menu gen program, to filter by removing all (PAL) roms but you can always just take out the PAL (or NTSC) from the input directory. In the CC2ROMDB.TXT that I created I put in this as one of the attributes and here are all of them: private static final String[][] CONTROLLS = { {"2", "2-Btn"}, {"K", "Keypad"}, {"P", "Paddles"}, {"D", "Drive"}, {"C", "CosmicCmd"}, {"B", "BoostrGrp"}, {"F", "FootCraz"}, {"I", "KidCtrl"}, {"V", "Joy+TPad"}, {"L", "LGun"}, {"JL", "Joy/LGun"}, {"J2L", "2BJoy/LGun"}, {"KV", "KidVid"}, {"TB", "Trackball"} }; and I wrote the Java menu gen to go with this data so it will sort the games in controler order. So I can plug my paddles in and go to the paddle part of the menu and play these at one time. Sample output menu is: ----------------Joystick---------------- 7800: Asteroids 7800: Ballblazer 7800: Centipede : ----------------Paddles----------------- Astroblast Paddles Bachelorette Party Paddles Backgammon Paddles This is the program page

If you have hand entered new menu items into your cc2 menu, then I would like your help. Can you please run this program that checks your CC2 roms are all located in the current CC2ROMDB.TXT. If they are new and not listed in the CC2ROMDB.TXT, it will list them. Then you can post them here, for everyone to use. You can get the program here: http://www.geocities.com/mot505/Chk4NewMenuItems.html Thank you very much. I will be updating the CC2ROMDB.TXT on my site.

Was the Atari 2600 your first video game system?
Mot replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I'm probably older but my family had a pong system before the Atari 2600 back in the day. My dad worked at Woolco as store manager in Tucson AZ and think my dad brought home a second 2600 that was a store demo. I remember in High School having friends come to play at my house. I even made Asteroid button with real arcade buttons for the 2600. Then I went to collage and the family got a NES and a Commodore 128, I would play Zelda when I came for x-mas. I latter ask my mom what happened to the old Atari(s) and arcade buttons she didn't know. -
The box doesn't look like this?

I think this should work: See Q: How do I convert Sega controllers to Atari pinout? in Atari 2600/5200/7800 FAQ v. 11.5

I found a 7800 with just the console and so I had to find power for it. I found that the Sega Master System (SMS)'s power supply had the same spec's as the 7800. I could get it to work my just holding it into the 7800 connector. Then I melted the old 7800 connecter's plastic and put in a standard connecter to hook up with the SMS power and put a cable tie to hold it down to the board. This works for me.

Also from: Atari 5200 Hardware and Accessories Atari 5200 2-port ...snip... Unfortunately, it seems that some 2-port units are not compatible with Pitfall! and Mountain King. However, the 2-port systems are all compatible with the VCS adapter. So what Activision games don't work and do you have a 4 or 2 port 5200?

So you mean that I'm not going to make $100 off of my $3 investment?! Good to know and thanks for the Joystick database.

I was in the used game store yesterday and I saw a strange looking joystick. The clerk didn’t know anything about it but it said SPECTRAVISION on it so I said how much and he said make an offer so I said $3 and he said fine. So here it is. I looked in the Atari 2600 Hardware and Joystick Rarity List and no dice, so, I hooked it up to my 7800 and launched Omega Race and both button’s worked. So this told me it is a Colecovision controller. Now for the questions: So should the Atari 2600 Hardware and Joystick Rarity List include Colecovision controllers because they work on 2600? Is this stick very rare?

On that note check out the wife at the top right of the box: FlashBack 2.0 box She seems to be giving him the evel eye or something She seems to be saying to herself, I don't know you or who the hell did I marry.

I thought it was a very good deal because they didn't seem to know that the Masterplay interface was the thing to highlight in the auction. I'm going to ask if they have or can find the button and I will add $5 for it. Also, it was not just $41 it was $25 for s/h = $66. Oh well I will hook up my arcade joystick to it anyway.
-
Can I just wire up the second button myself? or are there different types of Masterplay interfaces ( one with 2 button and one without)?
-
I just won this: ebay:5200+trakball+masterplay This seems like a good deal to me (I need the trakbal + Kaboom) but how much is a Masterplay? is it only around $31.00? Thanks.

Yep. The Koala software could be used with a pair of paddles, but I don't recomend it. Also, most paddle-based games could be played with Koala Pad, but it might not work very well. 842990[/snapback] I tried my KoalaPad on my 7800 with Kaboom! and Warlords and it work but not very well. It only controls the paddles in about an inch range at the bottom right. Up down for player one, and right left for player two. The button on the right for player one and left for 2. It was very hard to play.

I think emulating the 2600 is hard and even Mess does not have it working correctly. So you would be hard pressed to get a Java 2600 emu going right now. There are some emulaters written in java try: Java Emu page I just tried the sega master system one, that one is fun.

try: Atari Engineering Notes on the 1450XLD project

I guess you mean: Xonox company

Hay, just a thought here: My Dad had a leather hole punch with various diameters. I think this would work great for this job. ------------------------------------------------------------ Will you just relax, mon? My father is a television repairman. He's got an awsome set of tools. I can fix-this car.

Hay Phil, Did you use the CC2ROMDB.TXT that I created? I have tried to keep it updated. Try this one and if you still see any ROM that are missing, just let me know. Thanks.

I know noone cares but: I just added the Massive Winter 2600 Hacks Update to the end of the CC2ROMDB.TXT file. You can get it here. And if you find something wrong please post it here. And if you have entries that need to be added, post it here. And if anyone wants to take and post it on your site, please feel free. Thanks.

Here is a question I have had for a while: Do we get the word 'piss' or 'take a piss' from that Mannequin Piss boy from Brussels. Who put out a cannon in this way? (I could be mistaken but that is what I heard).
