1. If you have hand entered new menu items into your cc2 menu, then I would like your help.

Can you please run this program that checks your CC2 roms are all located in the current CC2ROMDB.TXT.

If they are new and not listed in the CC2ROMDB.TXT, it will list them.

Then you can post them here, for everyone to use.

You can get the program here:

    http://www.geocities.com/mot505/Chk4NewMenuItems.html

    Thank you very much.

I will be updating the CC2ROMDB.TXT on my site.

  2. I'm probably older but my family had a pong system before the Atari 2600 back in the day.

My dad worked at Woolco as store manager in Tucson AZ and think my dad brought home a second 2600 that was a store demo. I remember in High School having friends come to play at my house. I even made Asteroid button with real arcade buttons for the 2600.

Then I went to collage and the family got a NES and a Commodore 128, I would play Zelda when I came for x-mas.

I latter ask my mom what happened to the old Atari(s) and arcade buttons she didn't know.

  3. Does anyone know what Bumper Bash would go for?  I've checked online, and apparantly its an extremely rare game (9/10 on this site), in fact most sites (including this one) have never even seen what the box for it looks like.

The box doesn't look like this?

  4. i am currently thinking about purcaseing a 7800. i have one question

its missing all the cords but has a controller and comes with a game

i heard that u could use the sega genesis cords(rf, etc.) for 7800. is this true?

sorry if this is a stupid question but im new to atari

I found a 7800 with just the console and so I had to find power for it.

I found that the Sega Master System (SMS)'s power supply had the same spec's as the 7800. I could get it to work my just holding it into the 7800 connector. Then I melted the old 7800 connecter's plastic and put in a standard connecter to hook up with the SMS power and put a cable tie to hold it down to the board. This works for me.

  5. That particular joystick isn't rare, but IMO is better than the stock Colecovision controllers.

So you mean that I'm not going to make $100 off of my $3 investment?! :(

Right now, I'm the process of giving the Atari 2600 Joystick and Hardware guide a major overhaul.  When I am finished, the controllers will be separated from the hardware, there will be a new column added that mentions what systems the controller was listed as compatable with (where possible) and the rarity is being adjusted into a simpler rarity format.

After I am finished with that, I plan on eventually adding separate sections for the Colecovision, Atari 5200, Genesis, Master System and an additional section titled "Other Systems" which will be reserved for misc. joysticks that might be of interest to people.

Good to know and thanks for the Joystick database.

  6. I was in the used game store yesterday and I saw a strange looking joystick. The clerk didn’t know anything about it but it said SPECTRAVISION on it so I said how much and he said make an offer so I said $3 and he said fine.

So here it is. I looked in the Atari 2600 Hardware and Joystick Rarity List and no dice, so,

I hooked it up to my 7800 and launched Omega Race and both button’s worked. So this told me it is a Colecovision controller.

    Now for the questions:

So should the Atari 2600 Hardware and Joystick Rarity List include Colecovision controllers because they work on 2600?

    Is this stick very rare?

  7. What kind of wife makes fun of her husband for the stuff he enjoys...... bummer..

    853378

On that note check out the wife at the top right of the box:

    FlashBack 2.0 box

She seems to be giving him the evel eye or something

She seems to be saying to herself, I don't know you or who the hell did I marry.

  8. I thought it was a very good deal because they didn't seem to know that the Masterplay interface was the thing to highlight in the auction.

I'm going to ask if they have or can find the button and I will add $5 for it.

Also, it was not just $41 it was $25 for s/h = $66.

Oh well I will hook up my arcade joystick to it anyway.

I suspect it means that the KoalaPad reads as a pair of paddles. Sort of like an Etch-a-Sketch, one knob is your X axis, the other your Y axis.

    842971

Yep. The Koala software could be used with a pair of paddles, but I don't recomend it.

Also, most paddle-based games could be played with Koala Pad, but it might not work very well.

    842990

I tried my KoalaPad on my 7800 with Kaboom! and Warlords and it work but not very well.

It only controls the paddles in about an inch range at the bottom right. Up down for player one, and right left for player two. The button on the right for player one and left for 2.

It was very hard to play.

  10. I think emulating the 2600 is hard and even Mess does not have it working correctly.

So you would be hard pressed to get a Java 2600 emu going right now.

There are some emulaters written in java try: Java Emu page

I just tried the sega master system one, that one is fun.

  11. I cut small squares from this (Need a really sharp and strong pair of scissors), and then just stick them...

    Hay, just a thought here:

My Dad had a leather hole punch with various diameters. I think this would work great for this job.

    ------------------------------------------------------------

Will you just relax, mon? My father is a television repairman. He's got an awsome set of tools. I can fix-this car.

  12. Just for fun, I saw this in the JoyStik/July 1983:

    DRAGONFIRE

Imagic, Inc. for Atari 2600 and Intellivision

    ** poor

In Dragonfire, you control a handsome prince who must collect treasures while contending with the fire-breathing dragon who guards them. You must first run across the long bridge that leads into the castle while ducking under or leaping over the dragons’ fireballs that fly in your path. Once you’ve entered the castle, you must grab a series of prizes –goblets, lamps, jugs, etc.— that are scattered throughout a treasure room. While doing this, you must dodge fireballs being shot up at you from the dragon, who scampers back and forth across the bottom of the screen. Once you’ve collected all the treasures, you must escape from the treasure room and do it all over again, crossing another bridge, grabbing more treasures, and so on. Despite the impressive graphics and relative difficulty of play (especially in higher levels), Dragonfire is not very exciting. It’s too repetitious to warrant extended play and not amusing enough to make it on entertainment value alone. It’s more draggin’ than it is fire.
