So would AtariAge get upset at me if I took the data from here and let people d/l it (for their own personl use)?

One thing with the cartridge info is it is always changing and we have to give AtariAge, DP and others credit for updating the information. (So now that I have a bunch of unopened:Froggo Water Ski's we know that they have dropped in value as they have dropped to a 4, )

  2. You all know that Cart Commander has one with his version of prices included in it.  But this is not FREE WARE and requires payment.

I used some Java tools and sucked down the info from this site for 2600, 5200, and 7800 once and put them in a comma seperated values (CSV) type file (for use with my own personal Java Cart inventory software).

I have made an Access Database out of Stella .PRO files. It may not be what you are looking for, but it already contains SOME info:

    http://www.arminvogl.de/KrokodileCartridge/Revision1.0/vcsbase.zip

That is what Im hoping to do when I get the time. Hook Java into a MySQL database so I can browse through it, make reports ect...

Id be willing to help out if we are going to work up a DB. Plenty of DB2 experience but no Access experience though. I would talk to the people here and see if you can get the info in CSV then you can do what ever you want with it using SQL...

The file of all the 2600 carts is not that big and so I keep it in a CSV file and load it into memory.

The Java Hash keys and stuff are find for look up and such.

I don't know about running this code on a PDA it uses JTable in Swing a lot.

but I could put this on my web site minus the AtariAge data as the legal Terms don't allow it.

That is if people really what to see it.

I don't think anyone runs my Java CC2 stuff...

I want to know why everyone has there a new CRC type key for rom signatures? the CC2ROMDB has it own version of CRC16 and this Stella one has MD5 and the CRC in zip files is another. I know bitch, bitch.

  4. Those trak balls were mostly made for the 8-bit Atari -- Crystal Castles, Missile Command, Centipede and others all have trak ball support.

    Hay thanks.

Now I will have to play these games on the 800XL and see how much fun they are.

and some that work quite well (Crossbow, Spitfire Attack, Gangster Alley, etc.)

So is it fun to play Star Raider with the track ball?

I just found out that the 5200's track ball is only compatible with 12 games. I always thought that it was the same as the joysticks.

  5. I have just scored an Atari Track Ball CX22 and I have some questions:

Is Missile Command TB the only game designed to work in track ball mode for the 2600?

Is there any game on any other system that uses the track ball mode?

How hard is it to convert 2600 or 7800 games to use the track ball mode?

Here is my list of games that are mostly used with a track ball:

    2600:

    Missile command

    Crystal castles

    Centipede

    Millipede

    Reactor

    7800:

    Centipede

    Have I missed any?

What games do you play with the Atari Track Ball (on any system)?

What about the Stelladaptor 2600 to USB Interface ($29), I know it only supports: joysticks, paddles, and driving controllers, but is the Atari track ball in track ball mode physically impossible to support?

    Thank you.

  6. 100% for all 2600 and that's about 200 carts

100% for all 7800 (except for CC2) Only 20 carts. I did find shrink wrapped: Frogo games and Ms. Pacman and Astroids.

75% of 5200 carts (as I got 10 or so with my 5200 system from a local AtariAge person.)

The only thing I got from e-bay was 9 A8 carts and a GORF machine.

  7. I assume you mean collections larger than zero, for reasons such as "I don't collect Atari stuff"  :)

I could see someone having only one or two carts, favorites from youth or something like that.

All you really need in this world is a CC2 and a Pitfall II!

The ashtray, the paddle game and the remote control, and that's all I need. And these matches. The ashtray, and these matches, and the remote control and the paddle ball. And this lamp. The ashtray, this paddle game and the remote control and the lamp and that's all I need.

  8. I was looking at the sio2pc board here and noticed that it does not have the switch for:

    1. pc to Atari computer.

    2. pc to Atari disk drive.

I know I have seen ones that do this, maybe home made ones.

That way he could just use setting 2 and store games on disks and take the disk drive and a set of disks to someone else’s house to play.

    Just my 2 cents.

  9. If I Actually read the posts!!!! :dunce:

    so:

    FuKung512k demo by ADavie

    should be:

FuKung512k demo by ADavie (not working)

    and

    EdTris (1995) (not working)

    And maybe:

    FuKung Sprite Title demo

    should be

FuKung Sprite Title (dancing babies)demo :D

  10. One works, one doesn't.

It doesn't seem to work in Z26 either (at least for me) so maybe this isn't a CuttleCart issue?

No, it didn't work for me in z26 either. Maybe it isn't exactly the right filesize or something. :?:

    Actually read the posts!!!! :dunce:

  11. I have added some stuff to my version of the cc2 rom db. Please tell me if you think something is off.

You can get the New CC2 Rom DB from this page.

    Also I had questions:

I could not get this one to work:

    FuKung512k demo by ADavie FUKUNG 3F512K 78BIOS b11ec32d

The sprite one worked fine (see new entries below).

    Also

    EdTris (1995) EDTRIS95 4K 78BIOS 25de750a Self-Published -

Title screen is fine then it messes up.

Changes in the new cc2 rom db:

    Changed duplicate rom names.

    Added the following:

  12. I hate to say this now, but I have a mini-van with a TV and the only inputs in there are the three RCA jacks.

This leads me to say: I would like both s-view and a regular RCA jack for video.

Will there be a way to hook this up to a auto RCA jack and a video RCA jack TV?

  13. Now, with the bd78pok.bin I am getting no music with the pok+hsc settings. (78HSCPOK-banking, HSC-startup)

And the pokey sound does work ok when you have it setup without the hsc support (78POKEY-banking, 78BIOS-startup)

So no, I can't get the pokey and hsc to work together :(

    Did you know about:

    78HSCPOK Banking

Use this for 7800 games that use both the POKEY and the HSC. (Beef Drop)

  15. what games does the Cuttle Cart II not play?  Does it play all the 2600 games?  Still purchasing and eagerly anticipating the Krokodile Kart. ;)

    Well we do have:

Are there any games that won't work?

Pitfall 2 will not work on the Cuttle Cart 2. It's special chip is too complicated to emulate in the Cuttle Cart 2's bankswitching logic chip. Other games might be found to be incompatible as well, especially as certain 2600 games will not work on 7800s. These games will most likely not work on the Cuttle Cart 2 either.

    from:

    http://www.schells.com/cc2.shtml

Now the question is: Has there been any new games that Chad can not make a bak switch file for?

Someone sad that the CC2 will play 2600 games on a 7800 that the same game will not play with the cart. This had something to do with the "sync" line or something that the CC2 has and a 2600 cart does not.

We will have to have Bruce Tomlin speak about it.

  16. I added the new entries by MayhemUK and assigned companies to them and I also added companies to other’s that didn’t have them before.

I uploaded the updated DB and I updated the:

    http://www.geocities.com/mot505/Chk4NewMenuItems.html

    and

    http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2MenuGen.html

    and just the db at:

    http://www.geocities.com/mot505/CC2ROMDB.zip

I found the the jar in the zip file of the Java Menu Generator didn’t seem to work, so I added just a link to the jar file on the site.

I ran the Java Menu Generator with the new entries and I got more recognized roms in the menu.

Anyone else have hand entered new menu items in your cc2 menu?

    Thanks.

  17. By different directory structure, I don't mean on my MMC, I mean on my HD. Where my ROMs are located is deeper than just one sublevel below where I normally store the executables I run (such as the menu generator) and I don't store my master list of ROMs in a directory called GAMES either ;)

Rerun it, attached it to maintain column spacing  :P

    Thank you

    I will add...

  18. After a bit of thinking, I managed to figure out how to set it up properly per your instructions  :P

Sorry, I tried to be clear :)

Any suggestions on how to make the instructions more clear would be gladly accepted.

(I have my ROMs laid out slightly differently directory wise to the standard CC2 structure!)

Does this mean that you have sub-dir’s on your MMC? Or how can you have any different then <root>MENU.CC2 and <root>GAME<gameNames>.BIN?

    Anyhow I get this output:

    (clip)

Thanks for the new entries, but I forgot to add the CRC to the output! :(

So can you d/l and try it again? Please!

Given some games in there are already known about, does this mean the checksum of the dumps I'm running are different to all that you've encountered so far, or are some of my naming convensions off?

The program only looks at if the CRC is in the database, so all of these versions of binary files are not in the current database.

I don’t know if we need to have an approval process for entries in the database but I will add them to mine.
