I used a heat gun to peel the labels off, then used Goo Gone to get the remaining glue off and then glass cleaner to get the Goo Gone residue off. However I got a little overzealous with the heat gun on Xevious and slightly warped the cart while getting the label off (!).
Good to know. I will be very careful with the heat gun.

I got mine today and stuck 'em on, nearly got high off Goo Gone in the process but it was worth it.

I am basically doing the same "Arcade" set. I found all the dupes I needed this week except for DK and DKJR. Did you just use Goo Gone or combo heat and GG?

Another BUMP and a RAVING Review. These things are beautiful. The pictures don't do them justice. If you are sitting on the fence jump off and send your money.

When I get around to removing labels I will take some more pics. Before and after.

Perfect. I have all of that stuff already! Thanks!

I have never done this type of project. I am assuming a hair dryer or conservative use of a heat gun is the best way to loosen up the old labels. Any other tips for this project. Thanks again.

I forgot to ask. I am assuming these are pre-cut? Correct? Mine show they will be here tomorrow! Can't wait. I was able to pick up dupes of all the arcade titles I want to use these on over the past 2 days except for the DK's. But I will be patient and get them eventually.

If you don't already have the Juno First box, Marc makes two versions. I ordered the Konami Style box and love it! BTW, here's a link to another one of Marc's sites: http://www.freelancer-games.com/atari.php

Do I dare admit this. I don't even have the game Juno First.
I guess I need to try it on my Harmony. I know everyone raves about it. So I see on this other site you shared he has some boxes that aren't on his main retail site. Can you also order those? I want to get a Defender Arcade!!
I guess I can email Marc and ask him. Crap!!! More $$$

I had just ordered about 12 boxes from Marc. about 3 days later I get a PM from tep392 stating he had a DKPK slot open from me! Doh!!
I need to figure out a couple of other boxes I might need down the road and place another order. They are quality boxes and the price is not that bad IMO.
FYI - If you are in the US you can not order directly from the site. You just need to send Marc an email with what you want and he will get you a total and a paypal address to take payment.

I have a Harmony Encore so I have no need for a CC1. If I could find a CC2 on a steal I would get one since the Concerto is still so far away.

CC1 is now available...eBay Auction -- Item Number: 302313918869
I have a "Cuttle Cart" saved search on ebay. This one came up about a week ago. CC whether a I or a II don't come up very often, and like my meme stated above they never sell below reg retail price they are usually easily 1.5 to 2x or more than they usually cost. #crazy #aftermarket

Good Luck with that ----^^^

Thanks for your honesty in your mistake. I might help some other frustrated Concerto owner from doing the same thing.

They are very close. AA Subscribers have been offered a limited number of pre-orders. Al decided the original labels could be nicer so he found a new company to do the labels. He is building carts as fast as he can and just waiting for the final pieces (Labels) to get done for everything to fall into place.

I don't see that happening. These are limited pop-up types of runs for a reason. Supply and Demand. Demand is high and the supply of parts that it takes to put even a small run of these together is very low. Especially if it is a POKEY enhanced cart.

And what DrVenkman stated...

I got mine today. I think it's my fault that this thread was started. I posted it on AAFB and a 7800 FB group. (My Bad)

Wasn't aware it was ever being sold to the "public". This and several other Pokey carts it seems, only fall into the hands of the enlightened every great once in a while. A combination of who you know and, well... who you suck up to I guess.

There is a market for anything. I am not an A8 collector but I am sure someone will chime in here and offer to take them off your hands.

I wish this was the right size:

This one looks like it could actually fit.. I might make a draft soon.
It it is vector it is totally scalable without losing quality.

Wow!! Very nice. I wish that Star Wars Arcade CIB was 2600 and available. Congrats. Persistence and patience does pay off some times. I wouldn't know though because I have never even been able to find a decent lot like this to even try to acquire.

groundtrooper- Yes, you can use the standard dual stick X-arcade in the same way you can use the Tankstick. And, yes, that is the correct Tototek adapter.
So just to clarify my shopping list -
I need:
1 X-Arcade 5in1 Adapter.
2 Tototek PS/Sega Adapters
1 Best Sega to Atari Adapters or an Edladdin Seagull 78
Thanks a lot for your video and input on this set up!
-
I asked this question here last year. I don't have the X-Arcade Tank Stick, but I do have the non trak-ball Dual Stick model. I assume it would work also with the same set up for a 7800.
I really would like to get it working for Robotron for the 7800 since I have the X-Arcade Dual Stick I just need to purchase and sort out all the adapters.
-----EDIT-----
So is this the correct Tototek Converter?

I am not an expert on this cab by any means. I wonder if the 4 rectangular pattern holes were to mount some sort of "light kit".
While not authentic these days I would get a couple of LED strips to replace the lighting in the marquee.
It will provide a more consistent light (no hot spots) little to no temperature problems, and you will never have to change a bulb in your lifetime.
Just my suggestion. I am sure others here have answers of a more authentic nature.

WANTED: Feedback for Donkey Kong PK
in Atari 7800
Posted
I just saw your "Lets Compare" video and it reminded me I needed to leave feedback. I missed Crazy Brix and Scramble because of life getting in the way or first things first as Phill would say.
I don't have much to add to the excellent breakdown by Trebor, but here is my DK history and 2¢.
As a kid I loved DK in the arcade. I wasn't that good at it because I didn't have a lot of quarters to put in it and I lived very far from the local arcade, 15-16 miles according to google maps these days. It seemed farther than that as kid who was still in Jr. High and couldn't drive and there was no public transportation in my little AZ town. When I saw ads in Electronic Games for DK by Coleco for the 2600 I was excited. I remember "earning" the money for it and ordering it via mail order probably from an ad in Electronic Games. Well the day finally came I was so excited to open that box and get home and play. Well I am sure we all know where this is headed. Like many other 2600 Arcade ports Coleco's DK didn't really live up to my 11 year old expectations. But I played it anyway. It was all I had in terms of easy DK accessibility.
Two or Three years go by. I am getting ready to graduate from high school. My 2600 had kind of taken a back seat to an Apple ] [e and an Atari 800. (The 800 was my "upgraded gaming machine" since I could never convince my parents to get me a 7800.) The main reason I wanted a 7800 as I have probably stated in previous feedback's was for the "superior" arcade ports.
Fast forward to September 2016. Something lit an Atari fire under me again, I can't even remember what it was now,. I got back on Atari Age and started lurking and researching. I decided that I would get that 7800 that I never got as a kid and I would track down those games that I never got to play on a 7800 and the side bonus was that I could play all my childhood 2600 carts that I still had. So I found a used 7800 at a used record store chain here in Phoenix and paid probably too much for it knowing what I know now, but I paid for it with a rebate gift card so I can live with it.
I started tracking down 7800 games. Found a few in local shops, but mostly I went the ebay route and think that I did ok with most of them even being CIB. The day finally came when the ebayed Donkey Kong showed up. I was giddy, just like that jr. high school kid was for his 2600. Again I popped it in. WOW my eyes were amazed and my ears were assaulted. What a disappointment. The sound was grating on my ears, I muted the sound but it made the game even less enjoyable.
Flash forward again to about 45 days ago. Someone on Facebook, probably the Atari Age group, posted a video of DK PK. I was dying to get my hands on it. I came to the forums and found some threads about it, but couldn't figure our how to acquire it.
There was an auction in the AA Forums for a one of a kind CIB DKPK cart with proceeds going to help CPU_WIZ with his medical bills. This was offered by tep392. Well I was out bid on the second day and the auction ended up going for double of my max bid. Foiled again. But in the PM bidding process told me he was getting ready to offer another run of the cart and I asked him to add me to the list.
I then made some comments on that FB post and a comment was made that I needed to contact tep392 over here in the forums. I explained that I had already been in contact with tep392. I later figured out that tep392 was the one on FB that told me to contact him on AA. We both had a good laugh when we matched up our AA identities with our FB real life names. I bought 3 POKEY's on ebay for various Pokey projects that are coming up in the community and sent one to tep392 for my cart.
I received my DKPK around the same time as you dauber. Unfortunately I have not had a lot of time to play it. But the little time that I have has been extremely enjoyable. The POKEY sound is outstanding and the missing levels makes it complete. I highly recommend getting on the next wait list and add this to your collection as it will NEVER see the light of day in the AA Store due to copyright issues. This is the ONLY DONKEY KONG you need on the 7800.
Sorry for the long post dauber that was way more than my 2 cents. More like $20. You can edit as needed. Most of my feed back has turned into my personal history with the arcade version and then acquiring the home brew version.
If you want you can name my segment GT's Storytellers, like VH1 Storytellers.
Thanks for the all the time and hard work you put into this GREAT podcast dauber! I look forward to seeing it pop up in my feed.
