  1. Wrong adapter...that adapter is an exact opposite of what you need. LOL Actually, it's not. that's the same adapter I use. It's actually better than the other way around. You use one of those, pulg it directly into the 7800, and use a better coaxial Cable-TV type cable to plug into the TV, instead of using the godawful crappy RCA-Jacked cable that comes with the 7800. Most decent grade F-type Coaxial cables (Cable TV type) have WAY better RF sheilding than the piece of crap cable that cap with the 7800 back in 1987.
  2. http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=79826 Unbelievable. rock solid Genesis emulation AND Sega CD emulation that is nearly flawless. time to buy another Pro Duo.
  3. Or the ROM on a Cuttle Cart 2. The cuttle cart is just a glorified version of emulation IMO. Simulation and emulation are two very different things. The CC2 is a 2600/7800 cartridge simulator. Emulation implies that the hardware necessary to process and run the ROM files is being Emulated on the console end. With the CC2 - It's not. You're running on real hardware. Original 7800 hardware. It's simply a different cartridge format. No different than running a multicart on the 2600 or a "Brain" type cart library device.
  4. If I recall, text was always garbled on Activision's Spider Fighter when played on a Gemini.
  5. there are 2 trak-ball models. the CX-22 and the CX-80. But there are 3 differnt versions. the CX-22 has a white bottom, and white ball. The CX-80 has two different protocol versions, but both look the same with a black ball & Case. Some of the later CX-80's used the CX-22 protocol. The ones that Best Electronics sells are these. They come with the multi-language instructions and box. You probably bought the CX-80 version of Missle command, but have a CX-80 trak-ball that used the CX-22 protocol.
  6. and having played both, the 7800 version is much more accurate with the trackball. The 5200 version seems sluggish for some reason. I think the CX-80 is actually a better and more durable (and easier to use) piece of hardware. And I'd argue that the 7800 version's graphics are more appealing, as the colors are more distinct, the sprites are more colorful, and both versions are "short and fat".
  7. If you've got a modded PS2 or PSP and would like to play every PS1 game ever made - get them from www.undergroundgamer.com They have the entire NTSC US set.
  8. It doesn't support plugins, it doesn't support 1.50 Kernel, nor does it install it. So basically, if your homebrew is reliant on the 1.50 Kernel (like DGEN, or a few others) then it won't run. Since it doesn't support the 1.50 Kernel, there is no way to downgrade back unless you have a Pandora Battery & Stick already working. I'll wait.
  9. this is correct. the FCC has nothing to do with it.
  10. Personally I think the "war" will be a wash. One of these two formats will no-doubt have to come out on top as far as sales go...but in the end it won't matter, people will pulled away by cheap and convenient HD movie via download. Why spend even $14 on an HD movie when you can pay a flat monthly rate and have access to 100,000 movies? That said, I've already bought into it, altho there's no war for me, I have both formats and in my eyes they are equally crisp and clear. I am choosing very particular movies, SFX driven flicks that benefit from HD. The majority of the flicks I like (B-movies) probably wouldn't benefit from HD and since I already have them on regular DVD makes rebuying them even less desirable. The fact that I'm investing in formats that will ultimately fail doesn't bother me, these movies I did choose are ones I know and like, look great in HD, and it's worth the $$$ to me to have them now. Lots of People like to own movies on some tangible format, collect them even. The number of people willing to foregoe a collection of discs to download them all is very small. also - the average home internet user only has a 1.5Mbps connection, and very, very few have anything over 3Mbps. Other than the few people who use bittorrent sites to download bootlegs and illegal releases, or the infinitely small number of people who have Verizon FIOS or other such ultra-highspeed fiberoptic internet connections, I highly doubt that most people will be pulled away from going to a store and buying something they get in hand to own, permanently, with something that will take upwards of 2 days to finish downloading, per movie, only to find out their download got corrupted part way though and they have to start all over again. HD movie Downloads will always trail behind Netflix and other Online Movie and Music retailers as a marginal alternative.
  11. Shadow - unless you've bricked your PSP, or have one that is newer than 3.50 official firmware, you really don't need this. I wouldn't risk bricking a battery and memstick unless you absolutely have to.
  12. If you buy the Panasonic BD-10a blu-Ray player, you can get 10 free movies. 5 in the box and 5 in the mail. there's good deals on a lot of players now.
  13. You made a post yesterday explaining how you just recently got a PSP. Now you're claiming that you only play it rarely. How often do you expect to play it in a 24 hour period?
  14. How about some people stop trying to be the forum police and just let people have their opinions and express them?
  15. Very simple, because "kids games" isn't a classification, it's sarcasm by people who don't care for some kinds of games and want to insult those that do. "Oh my God, a puzzle game. That's kiddy crap, mature people don't enjoy puzzles". Being non kiddy does not mean everything has to be M rated 'kill the mutant zombies'-'blow up the terrorist tank'-'run around cussin, beating people up, raping women, stealing cars' crap. Exactly, so why the need to use incorrect and insulting sarcasm just because your preferences are different? (You absolutly SURE you were just joking earlier? I'm starting to wonder.... ) The DS has lots of games that have characters and storylines geared for children 10 years old and under, right? Somehow magically, when someone recognizes this fact, and speaks of it as it being a "kiddy" system, people are automatically insulted. Why are people insulted when someone accurately describes an inanimate object like DS console? I don't get insulted when people say the PSP Sucks and has no good games, and is too expensive. Those opinions might be true to them, but they aren't to me. There are some REALLY over-sensitive people here. Some who can't take a joke, can't allow others to have an opinion contrary to their own, can't laugh at themselves for still being a video game geek well into their 30's (or worse).
  16. The thing I don't understand is why it gets all dramatic when someone says "the DS is a kiddy system" or complains that it has too many games geared towards really young children. Why do people immediately deny this fact and then point to the same 3 or 4 "M" rated titles as evidence that it's not a system geared towards kids, when the other 300+/- titles available for are exactly that? Why can't some of you who are DS fans just say "I like little kids games"? Wouldn't that be a more effective means of halting the argument instead of clawing about to find justification that the DS isn't a little kids system? (when a cursory look at the overall library of games clearly dictates otherwise) It's all a matter of preferences. I personally prefer not to play those type of games, so I chose not to buy a DS. I also really got a good laugh at the guy questioning the masculinity of the people posting here, without asking what their respective sex was. Good going, insult the few women who do post here with sweeping, completely off-target generalizations. That'll get ya a lot of dates.
  17. I enjoy blowing stuff up on my handheld as much as I do on my console. I don't enjoy crossword puzzles or cute little yoshi adventures, real or virtual. See how that works? we both have a good laugh, and no one get's their undies in a bunch over it. (well, except the people who came to your defense unnecessarily, LOL)
  18. And it's all in good fun. Some people take their gaming a tad too seriously, it seems. Mostly, I just don't like Nintendo products in general. And I find their games to be, in general, too simplistic, and tediously repetitive. The fact that the characters and storylines are intentionally geared towards the 5-10 year old demographic doesn't exactly sway me to buy their products.
  19. Look in the mirror Danno, you jackass. There's only one guy acting like a 7 year old girl in this thread and it's not the RedFive. He offered an opinion, you're acting like a pathetic little bitch. No I'm simply making a joke at his expense. And all the little thin skinned, over protective cryers think I'm being "serious". doesn't' anyone here have the ability to laugh at themselves?
  20. Basically, your opinion amounts to you not liking the PSP and thinking it has a bunch of "crappy, sucky games" because you only seem to like cutesy little kids "Barbie's Dress-Up and Yoshi's crossword puzzles" type games. These aren't games for Business trips. They are games for your 7 year old daughter.
  21. So yeah, you don't need specific games to downgrade your ANY FIRMWARE PSP anymore. You also don't need to worry about your PSP being permanently bricked. WOW. http://www.psp-hacks.com/ Right after we posted about Fanjita’s upcoming PSP unbricker for those that bricked their PSP with a bad copy of the M33 custom firmware, Fanjita and his crew upped the ante releasing a program that UNBRICKS ALL SONY PSPs. Wow a strong kudos goes out for this one. No longer will we need to ship bricked PSP’s off to Sony to have them fixed for a cost. We told you that we’d be releasing an unbricker for the M33 bricks. But then we got to thinking, maybe that just wouldn’t be exciting enough. Would you like a super special surprise bonus? How about an unbricker for ALL PSPs? Yep, you read that right. We call it “Pandora’s Battery”. There’s a larger story behind this unbricker, though, and it deserves to be told. It’s the culmination of years of behind-the-scenes research and development by some of the top names in PSP hacking, under the name of the Prometheus project. This group of people, from various development teams, was dedicated to developing and releasing PSP hacks and exploits, with the aim of improving the status of PSP homebrew, and making sure that it was kept alive. As always you can grab this file from our psp downloads area or by clicking here. For all the details from Fanjita check this out
  22. Last time I checked we were all here to post and discuss one another's opinions. Why is everyone so afraid of that? I' have a PSP and love it. I would probably have a DS and love it if I were 11 years old or younger.
  23. The board moderators will decide what language is acceptable and what is not. About the same time you became one. Tempest Have I been going around telling people where or what to post about?
