1. I am SOOOOOOOO glad I bought a CC2. I was going to ask about someone trying this hack in the 7800 forum. Here'a stupid question - what tools are you using to disassemble this game to hack it? How are you making the changes? I messed around with some of the 2600 hacking programs a while ago, but if you could post a link to whatever you're using for this, that would be awesome. If I can figure it out, I want to try tackling a Hack of Desert Falcon into Zaxxon.
2. Sam looks great, but comes out way too early and way too often. Was that by design? Ken - If I could recommend one change, graphically, it would be this: Q*bert needs to get a "Buns of Steel" workout going. He's got a Big Butt. Maybe it's just the angular cut shape, but I thought his rear end when seen from him jumping upward on the board was more rounded and less protruding. At any rate - I'm SOOOO glad I got he CC2, what wiht all these FANTASTIC ports you guys are doing. Thanks you a million times.

Yay!

At the prices some of the gougers in the Atari trading and selling world are trying to charge for even the semi-rare games out there, you're lucky if you cna get a collection of 20 games for under $200. CC2 gives every game, hack & homebrew ever made, for less than the cost of 8 single unboxed rarity 4 games on ebay. It's a bargain, and worth every penny.
4. I recently got my CC2. Holy shit this thing is awesome. nyway - I do have on question: All the PAL 7800 games do nothing on my 7800 fromthe CC2, but the Pal2600 games run fine (even though the screen/colors are off due to the Pal system). Beyond changing the BIOS chip in my 7800, is there anything I can do to get them to run?
5. And there is an existing version for the 5200/800, so it shouldn't be too hard.
6. I have a 7800. all the games that won't play on it, play just fine on mine. And they played just fine on the one I had as a kid too, and both are different Mobo revisions. In fact, the Robot Tank 2600 I just bought from CPUWIZ, which has the "This game is not for use with the Atari 7800" disclaimer sticker, works just fine. 850509 I thought there were 2600 games that would not physically fit in the 7800 cartridge slot? 850534 the actual cartridge connector isn't the problem, it's the plastic cup that surrounds the cart slot that is too small. But it's easily adjusted/removed. It's just a useless piece of plastic.

Yay!

It's here!!!

9. There's no contest. The 7800 IS a 2600. That's like comparing a Ford Mustang with no options to one that's all tricked out with all the options. Why would you even bother with the one that had no options?
10. MY Cuttle Cart 2 is arriving tomorrow, according to Fedex. So could one of you guys post the proper entry line for this frogger beta for the CC2's menu files? Also if you could post them for the Q-Bert demo that would be great. Thanks fella. So far in MESS this looks fantastic, schmutpuppe. Real quality. I'm dying for it to have sound.
11. What's the difference between the two? I only seeone listed on the rarity guide, and only remember the one I had which was the Atari version.
12. It's up to .96b now, but try to get 95 if you can. 96 is a little buggy.
13. Wow. This is quality. Now someone please do a halfway decent Spy Hunter and Zaxxon and Crystal Castles, and it would be complete - as far as all my favorites go. Well - maybe add a Defender port in there too.
14. Here are some comments from Thomas J's source for the Missile Command track ball hack he made; these might help. and this: But your best bet is probably to ask Thomas himself 848630 Those are the pinouts. I actually rewired teh optics of my CX-80 to a mitsumi serial mouse, but now taht I have a working 7800 and a CC2 on the way - I'm going to reverse the sex change operation I performed on it.
15. I have a CX-80 Trak-Ball, and my CC2 is in the hands of Fedex as we speak. My only problem - I don't know squat about programming for Atari or 6502. I was just hoping I could get a few people to put their heads to gether and give this idea a whirl.
16. I'm not sure, but I think it's like the driving controller/spinner type, yet operating on two axes simultaneously. It's like a dumbed dowm PC. mouse. It's got pinwheels and optics, just like a mouse.
17. Does anyone out there have a disassembly of 7800 Centipede? I'm wondering if it's controller scheme can be converted to use the CX-80 Trak-ball in true trak-ball mode.
18. If you're just worried about wear and tear on the 7800 - you could get a set of controller extension cables, and just leave them plugged in all the time, and just plug and unplug the controllers into them, instead of into the 7800 console itself.
19. Ha. As it turns out, the Radio Shack around the corner from my office has them on clearance for like $20. I know it's a few bucks more, but I want to have it in-hand when the CC2 arrives. I hate waiting for shipping, and I've gotten really burned lately. I bought a NIB Robot Tank off of one of the best sellers/traders here, but the USPS screwed us, and I'm still waiting for it like 11 days later. "Priority" mail, lol. This bites.
20. Try New Egg. www.newegg.com A-DATA 64MB MultiMedia (MMC) Card Model MMC-064 - Retail Item #: N82E16820211303 The A-Data 64 MB is the cheapest they have and it works fine with my CC2. The best $9.00 you will ever spend for gaming! 846261 Thanks guys. Yeah I saw they had them on Amazon for like $15, but Radio Shack and Best Buy only had 128meg ones for like $40. That's lame.
21. Just Ordered mine. Does anyone know if Radio Shack carries MMC cards?
22. If you guys would bother to read Clint's posts, you'd see taht he says "Yes it's a custom label I made becasue the white one was torn." Duh.
23. It's PAL. Is that typical of PAl carts?
24. I recently bought a copy od Stargate, which I thought was NTSC. It has no markings on the outside indicating otherwise that it is PAL, except a sticker on the back of the cart witha large "P" on it. It's a square, approx. 1/3 inch by 1/3 inch. I just asssumed this was put there by a previous owner. But when I put the cart in, I get 1/2 a second of what appears to be the title screen, score appears at the top, and then almost immediately the screen start to roll diagonally, and there is a groaning noise coming from the speaker - like the sound of the car in Pole Position. And the cart won't play the game. Is this normal behavior for a pal cart? I thought Pal games had a problem with Vertical hold, but otherwise would play. Is this a PAL cart - or is it just messed up. I'm playing it ona 7800, which has no compatibility issues with any of the "commonly incompatible" 2600 games on some 7800 models. Anyone? Is the cart dirty?
