I don't consider 4K/ month a real salary .. not even close. Do you? Maybe because you live in Northern California $48,000 a year does not seem like a lot of money ? The majority of people here in the UK don't earn $4k per month either (even with the distended exchange rate at the moment that works out to be about 2000 GBP before tax, or about 1400 GBP after tax)... and the cost of living here is higher than in general America. I don't know about California but I've been told it's fairly high by comparison. I would wager a lot of people would love to earn that sort of money per month... (I'm one of those "lucky" ones who does earn about that level however) Mayhem: Precisely. California on a whole has a higher pay scale than most of the country. Heck, they even have a higher minimum wage than the Federal Government requires! I was making a little more than that when I lived in California, and I was always broke because you can't afford a house, etc. Out in Tennessee, I make a bit more, and I feel like a live like a King because everything is cheaper here. If Joe Programmer makes $72K in California, has to live in an apartment, or $45K in Kentucky, but owns a house, that's usually the discrepancy level I see for this. And sorry for going off topic....I just want to buy Actionauts and pay my bucks already...

I agree with whatever price you come up with, I'm going to buy the thing, but I think you're starting to alienate some of the people from the community.

Does it make you sad that I have come to a decision that $4K / month is reasonable compensation for the time I put into making somehting for your enjoyment? Curious what you earn per month doing whatever it is you do? Why not just do it for free? When will we be notified via email of how/when to purchase it? Already signed up to get the game, and to be honest, I don't know why anyone is making a big deal on the price. It's an extremely limited release that is going to sell out no matter what. 300 copies in the internet age and rabid collectors? $74.99 is a drop in the bucket.

Sure it could, pinballs are at least electronic too! We could talk about politics, recipes, LOST, lots of more off-topic things! And I'm sure Homer doesn't mind the bumps! Black Knight 2000 rules, but mine has a ROM board problem and lock issue =( -

Just her voice in Breakshot Man, I just remembered how much I hated Capcom pins EXCEPT for Big Bang Bar and Kingpin. -

I wonder what a CIB Gauntlet would go for? CIB Birthday Mania? More than 5-6K? Sure its rare and another one of those oddity carts but whos willing to spend more than 6k on any atari game? I don't know if you know this but Wonder007 has a $6,500 open offer on Birthday Mania loose. Edit: Here is the thread were made the offer. I don't now if he still has it, but he did at one time. Check post 18 http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...=birthday+mania Homer: Buyatari is not ripping on your stuff. You've got to stop reading into things like that, no one is saying "you are stupid and your cart sucks", but you are making it out like everyone is. He's just telling it like it is. Believe me, if you want to see people yell about pricing, check out www.pcenginefx.com where people are ripping on ANYONE trying to sell anything at high prices. They are less than "nice" about it. -

They won't be looking for alternative contest carts, that's the thing. Incomparable. I can't think of ONE NES collector that would care or even thinks about an alternative that way, it's just not going to happen, unfortunately... I respectfully disagree. Main reason being that more than just NES collectors want the NWC Gold cart. If you are not an NES collector to begin with and you want the NWC cart than you might be inclined to want the Atantis II cart especially if you can't afford the NWC cart. Homerwannabee: There is no lore to that cart. The NWC was a nationwide phenomenon when NIntendo was at its peak. The Wizard? I mean, it's like comparing a Ferrari to a really expensive limited edition Yugo I hate to say. I don't get the Wizard reference. The movie bombed at the box office. The movie made less than 15 million dollars. I think Encino Man made more money than that. It was an average video game movie. You make it sound like the Wizard Of Oz had a tie in with the NWC cart. Ask the average person today if they remembered the wizard and see what they say. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0098663/business In fact Encino Man DID make more money. 40 Million dollars in fact. http://imdb.com/title/tt0104187/business One more thing I will probably lose this if this turns into an argument. I am a good arguer but there is no freaking way I can battle 10 different people. Look I am just trying to sell the game. $2,750 with a best offer is not that insane. Hey it is a competition cart and competition carts go for more money generally. I don't care which one you point too. Even the Sega Genesis Blockbuster cart is a $2,000 cart and no one remembers that one. Edit: As far as the Expensive Yugo reference. I am pricing it like one. A Ferrari probably would be about 6 times as expensive as a Limited edition Yugo. So I don't understand why you are arguing that as well. I never said anything about box office receipts. My point was Nintendo made a movie which was essentially a precursored marketing tool for the NWC. 30 cities in major convention centers and advertised all over the place. That is what I mean. So many more people care about it and know about it and the NES. Nothing you can say will change anyone's minds about the A2 cart, it's as plain as day on this one from day one why the NWC is worth more not just in monetary value, but it's imbedded as one of the most nostalgic eras of our time at Nintendo's peak. -

Direct4Games had a significant portion of the Telegames stock and was liquidating it on eBay and via their website, which is now replaced with some CD bullshit. That's where I got my NIB copies of H.E.R.O., Keystone Kapers, Pitfall II, Rock 'N Bolt, and Zenji back when they were blowing them out for about £10 apiece. I'm pretty sure most of what they had is gone...I'm not sure if that's the liquidator he was referred to. Bah, those two are one and the same.

everything is for sale Yeah, but the only way I am selling my gold cart, or the other one I have access to, is with an incredulous amount of money. I think 25K might do it for the one I have access to, since last year when we tried to sell it for 10K, and people kept reneging. Looks like a steal now. Mine? Man, $100,000 might do it, but of course, I would never put something like that up for sale that way. SO yeah, I guess everything is for sale at the right price. Lord knows I've sold some Turbo Grafx stuff at crazy prices. It all depends on the people buying these things, and the 2 items for the NES that hit the 5 figure mark are the gold NWC and I think a CIB Stadium Events if left on auction would hit 10K as well. homer eats humble pie? No offense, but whatever the situation may be, I just hope you sell the damn thing soon so we don't have to hear about it anymore. Berkshire Hathaway? It is crazy. Pure speculators buying that stuff now, which is nuts in a collectibles market as volatile as this one. With the various Nintendo franchises still going, vintage Nintendo stuff has a much better chance of holding prices over the long term than Atari stuff does, but an awful lot of people are going to end up disappointed if NES stuff starts tanking 8-10 years from now like most 2600 stuff is nowadays. Atari stuff has had a good run of about a decade or so, and that's probably about the best you can hope for. Sooner or later all these markets will peak, and when there aren't enough new people entering the hobby to maintain any individual sector of the market, things will start to slip rapidly. These people who think the sky is the limit on this stuff have another thing coming. All the people collecting NES are making more money nowadays. When I was completing my collection in the late 90s, I was only making 27K a year before taxes, so if you take into account inflation, and that everyone and their brother is making at least 45K these days, you can see how the value can be skewed up with salary. -
POTENTIAL SALE- Atari 2600 Items, including rarities 9 and 10

It may not have even been anyone from this site. Anytime you post something on a message board, or even now with the age of the internet, people are going to want to make sure that before they sell something, they are getting fair market value. If the guy said something to someone, and that guy looked on eBay or typed in any names of any games for approximate value, and your offer was not decent enough, then of course the guy's not going to sell. When I bought all those gold NWCs, there was NOTIHNG on the internet about them. If I tried going after the ones I did not get now, of course I wouldn't be able to obtain them at the prices I paid for them.....internet has kind of ruined that, and I hate to say it, but "educating" people actually backfires on many people. It takes a long time to know the approximate values for things, and a lot of times someone will just ask for a price check and then instantly add 90% more to that price, and try to sell it, only to never appear again the in the community. A lot of times the people giving out these prices don't even have the stuff in their collection also, so it kind of hurts some of us willing to pay fair market values for certain things. I learned a long time ago to always give fair market value for stuff, or close to it if I planned on reselling it as bulk. It's the way you present the case to someone which is the best form of negotiation. Anytime someone says they can get XXX on eBay for 500 items, they seem to forget all the packaging, shipping, and fees and HOURS involved with all of that until I bring up that point. -

Nope mine wasn't the 15k sale I'm still collecting payments and the longer he takes to pay it off the more he owes. So I can't say for sure what the final price is till its over. Mine was the 15k sale, just cleared escrow this week. Man, if you guys sold yours for 12-15K...this means the market is CLOSED. No one else has one available. NO active sellers. -

Thanks for reminding me Anywho, let me put it to you this way, this collection will put you (based on what I briefly saw) on the top five Atari 2600 collections in the world. What makes his collection weak are the lack of prototypes and homebrews/hacks Yeah, but a lot of people don't care for protos. I love them for NES, but who actually collects or cares of them like you do for Atari, or I do for NES? I mean, I know Tempest does, but I don't think he's after all the released stuff too. I think my NES collection is pretty neat because of all the stuff I have proto wise, and the US collection CIB, but not everyone sees it that way... Wonder, how much money is the guy asking now? -
$3000 for the both CIB if anyone has them. If you only have ONE of them, PM me and let's discuss.

homer, I think you are a great seller, but Wonder is just referring to your strategy for marketing the game. He's not badmouthing you. It's just every other month there is a thread about you having A2 on eBay, and then in subsequent visits periodically, you are lowering the price, or hyping the thing more and more with names and prices and examples and such. It's tiring to everyone because it loses the appeal. Heck, if I didn't know any better, I'd say A2 is easy to find because it's been on eBay so much in the past year! For me personally, if that had original paperwork, I would be all over it, but it doesn't.... -
Looking for any boxed Atari XE games. I have one. Airball. PM me with pricing and such. I don't care about the condition, but they have to be complete with no rips. Even crushing is fine.
