Well you could check my stats but I'm 28 years old my first system was a 2600 when I was 5 and I still have it along with my games. I've been extensively collecting for 15 years I have over 1200 unique label variations and over 500 boxed games in prestine condition, not to forget my manual collection which is in the 800's. I'm still not sure what most of your comments mean they seem convoluted. You think most of the people here never played atari before what came out. Most of the people on here are late 20's or older and have some of the most amazing collections you could imagine. Also they all know alot about the collecting field. So what are you saying or asking? Bruce i'm not trying to say I'm better than that or anything... but when I STOPPED collecting these games I had over 180 complete games (minus some boxes for some reason I didn't save) and that was over 15 years ago. I am now 35. I never got a Nintendo I just loved playing Solaris, Desert Falcon, Ballblazer (best two player game I ever played, hardest I ever laughed in a 2 player game) Jr Pac Man, Midnight Magic and Xevious. While my friend down the street was playing Zelda I was still playing Donkey Kong and Solar Fox and loving it. I don't collect label variations, sorry your thinking seems convoluted to me. But if you say they're collector's items, I suppose they are, and in 20 years if Antiques Roadshow is still on the road and if it ever comes to Detroit I think I'll be proud to say I have this collection that all came from one pretty rabid collector during the era. Do you see what I mean? I think the problem here is that you have a guy trying to sell his old Atari stuff and trying to get obscene amounts of money for them, and not exactly winning it over with possible bidders on the items. A lot of people on this forum that have not chimed in have tons of Atari boxed stuff that they collected from that time period, and a hell of a lot more than 180 titles. It's all relative as to the way you perceive your collection to be. While I see it being your choice to make a lot of money on your items, if you are looking for the "slow dime" as opposed to the "fast nickel", you're better off putting these in an eBay store for $0.05 a month and letting them sit with Best Offer prices as opposed to running eBay auctions. It's no secret, they are severely overpriced, and if I could get prices like these for my stuff, I would be a multi-millionaire overnight along with half of the forum members here.

New Intellivision homebrew
DreamTR replied to holygrailvideogames.com's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I used the CONTACT ME link on your website I wanted to reply to this post specifically for the benefit of everyone publicly: David discovered yesterday that the (Contact Me) button was broken for the last month or more, which is why emails to that address went unanswered. This has since been corrected, and he's digging through the backlogged email. Chances are, if you sent something via that method that needed a response, David has gotten back to you already by now. I know I received several backlogged requests. Please accept our apologies. Also, you can always feel free to email me directly at i n t v n u t AT g m a i l DOT c o m. I still have nothing. -
Didn't Video Game Connections close down years ago? I could have sworn Mike Etler now just runs a flea market and mail order business from the website.

PAPERWORKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKk -
She's a very good buyer. Considering the last THREE NCAA Basketballs went for less than $33 each shipped, I would say you should jump on that.

Actually that is a pretty good point. Though I want to say I am not as bad as I think I am made out to be. Let's look at the facts. 1. I could of offered the Video Life Manual at an insane amount but instead I started it off at .99 cents. 2. I did not mention the Atlantis II by name in the thread. Two others mentioned it before I chimed in. 3. Most of my auctions are started off at .99 cents, and I let the market bear what it's worth. 4. I don't have the type of Ebay rating that most people have who are out to make a quick buck. 5. I am extremely honest with my dealings with others. 6. It is more for sale than you think. I may need money for my education if I have to repeat my class. I am willing to sacrifice an Atlantis II cart if it means getting my B.A. 7. I put it at it's current price $5,050 to end people being so defensive about how N.W.C. Gold or Grey is worth more than Atlantis II. Now they will have a number to point to instead of just opinion. I also put it at that price, so that for at least a couple years someone will not try to put one up for $50,000 or 1.75 million. I truly believe that most of the reason people respond so agressivley against the cart is that it has been an extremely long time since it was put up for auction with no reserve or high price on Ebay. 8. I also announced putting it at $5,050 to try to divert attention away from the Phantom, Lemoncurry drama. Unfortunately that did not work. 9. I have a best offer for a reason. I was testing the waters. But I have now realized that people get put off by the top dollar amount, and the more reasonable I offer the A2 cart the more reasonable the offers will become. If the water is warm enough I may jump in. 10. I almost never bad mouth people even when baited to do so. Though after around 4,400 posts I have slipped up a couple of times. But well over 99 percent of my posts are not critical of others in any way. Phantom, calm down. I did not even refer to you. It was a generalization about all high dollar items put on eBay multiple times. I think you could have had that game in the news from multiple game sites of its discovery like Jollerancher did from his eBay listing, that was a clever marketing tool to begin with, but in my opinion, you should never use eBay to put things up to display as "news", that does not really make sense. I'm just glad you are allowing the release of the cart for everyone to play on an actual 2600, and you are keeping your investment with it, so as far as I am concerned, the topic of your game should be completely finished. Homer: It all boils down to you wanting the most for your product, and the way you are marketing it is the only way to do it. SOme people are naive about values, and like the gray carts that sold over 5K at one time, it just takes one person to do it, and there's your 5K. Personally, I would only want the A2 paperwork, as in this day and age of copies/boots/repros, I would never take a chance on something like that, even in comparison to "originals" like a copy of a Mickey Mantle and the original holding its value. With the 2600, I am fine with that, but the paperwork means more on my end at least.

The problem is if people weren't just listing items to brag even if they "aren't for sale in the first place" is pretty pompous to everyone. It happens all the time with rare items. You see gold NWCs, Atlantis IIs, and other crazy stuff up for wild offers a dozen times. If they aren't "for sale", don't put them up at stupid amounts of money then. I can see it once in awhile on 10 cent listing day with a best offer, but that's the main problem here. It's all hype and marketing for this A2, and a lot of people still don't seem to get it through their head that any type of attention and press (even bad press) is still that, PRESS AND COVERAGE. I remember when Jollerancher did this with his high dollar items, and people went nuts for it, even if they did not have the money. There's a lot of people on these forums with one of a kind never before seen items and you don't seem them flaunting them on eBay left and right, making threads and trying to get everybody to buy something that is supposedly either "not for sale", or just waiting to "cash in" from the one person crazy enough to fall for the presented hype (like Atlantis II). Obviously people can do what they want, but these type of things are basically just baiting people to respond to the messes.

I don't have it either, and I ordered back in Dec as well. -
I would like to be put down for 2 copies please.

I'm not sure where you got your numbers from, but they're inflated (as usual). It's questionable if a gold NWC cart has ever actually broken $10k. Hard to know, since most of them have been sold through private sale. The last one sold was the one that Bronty sold back in September for $8500. The grey has not sold for anyhwere near $6,000 that I know of...normal range is around $2,000. OK, I got the $6,100 amount from wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nintendo_World_Championship And DreamTR on Digitpress said he sold one privately for $6,500. So there are my sources. Edit: I need to correct the $6,500 statement. I did some searching and DreamTR said he sold one with a ripped label for $5,350. Sorry about that. Here is the qoute "Most I sold a grey NWC for was $5350 with a ripped label" Gold ones privately have now went for 12K. This is confirmed. Last two were about 10K and 12K respectively.

OFF YOUR ROCKER PROTO eBay Auction Disappeared?
DreamTR replied to JustJeff2's topic in Auction Central
Would these be the same people who report proto auctions, get them "officially" pulled, and then contact the buyer privately to make a "gee whiz, don't eBay suck!" pity sale? Yup! Exactly. I dunno...obviously I can't prove anything about anybody, but it just seems to me that almost all Atari protos are getting pulled lately, often within hours of them being listed. I hate to say it, but anyone that actually spends their TIME reporting stuff to eBay left and right needs to find a new hobby. -
Shipping internationally just isn't worth it
DreamTR replied to holygrailvideogames.com's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Maybe you missed the part about there being NO inexpensive tracking for international packages coming out of the US? Don't you think if inexpensive tracking was available for international packages that most sellers would use it? I know I certainly would, as not having it is a never-ending source of grief for myself and other international sellers. I don't blame people for not shipping internationally as a result. This is also why I see some sellers shipping internationally at the buyer's risk and why some sellers will only ship via EMS (Express Mail), which is considerably more expensive than the normal First Class International. ..Al Customs numbers are the best! You can also send the item "registered" mail for another $9-10 or so along with first class. The reason why there is no "cheap" method, but there is for everyone else is that the USPS is the one taking our packages to us. Once it is out of there hands, they can't guarantee it is delivered because everyone is using some archaic system, making it more expensive for us to deal with. That that said, the Customs Dept usually has info on those numbers that we can not normally see. -
I am. PM me paypal info please!

Yeah, I have the cart for it, it has the cycling screens, but yep, no gameplay.

On that one I was bullsh*tting..I figured whoever posted that..was prob a member here..just trying to get a rise out of everyone. I figured the person who said I was full of Sh*t would call me out as they knew this lot was fake..did I catch you? Anyway..if this was a true lot and I had it..those pics would have been posted sooo quick! However this lot I can vouch for as I did see these in person.. no..I couldn't make out the names...but I did see the carts, so I know it wasn't bullsh*t.. That's funny. I LIVE in Smyrna, and this person NEVER emailed me back, and NEVER had a garage sale listing on Craig's List either. Really strange if you ask me.

I have a booth, and I am bringing tons of prototypes for all systems, NES games, NEW SEALED Anime DVDs, BOXED Game Boy, Game BOy COlor, and Game Gear games, TURBO GRAFX games, and promo items. Prices are very very cheap, so I would suggest finding me early. If it's anything like it was at CGE, I was packed for 12 hrs both days with ONE table with the kid of deals I had....

Ebay lowering insertion fees, and raising final value fees!
DreamTR replied to homerwannabee's topic in Auction Central
What else can a buyer do? Let me ask you this. If a guy comes into a store, pays for his game, then reads the back of the game and realizes it's not for the system he bought it for, starts yelling tirades at the manager, and throws things in the store, and threatens employees, would you call that person a "good" customer? By that definition there are no "bad" customers, only bad sellers, which is not the case. I see buyers leaving negative feedback all the time for not reading descriptions thoroughly, and complaining about shipping taking 5 days after they purchased it (that one shocked me, the game ARRIVED 5 days after they purchased it). And of course, everyone has their own view. I buy a ton of stuff on eBay and I sell a ton of stuff on eBay, so I can feel this from both ends. Most people complaining either do one or the other, but not both in bulk. -

eBay Average total pay: $125,889 For: Software Engineer Best Companies rank: 68 The online auction giant is an award-happy place. In 2006, 2,471 bonuses totaling $3.3 million were handed out to employees, and special stock awards were made to 97 percent of employees (top executives were excluded). -
Sinistar prototype now on ebay!
DreamTR replied to iwan-iwanowitsch-goratschin's topic in Auction Central
But it looks like a prototype, doesn´t it?!? Looks 100% legit to me. I agree it is 100% legit, the person whom sold it to me is a well respected member here and would not rip me off,i fully believe his story about it coming from PR person at Atari, the only thing that has me miffed is why it was glued ,anyway i had put it back together and thrown it at the Atari and it works fine I don't know why glue makes a difference, but it's the real deal.. That was sold by me, and I had around 75-80 or so prototypes (still have some 5200 ones left) that were purchased from a gentleman who worked at Atari/Magnavox/Hasbro. I did nothing to them except open a few up to verify boards/EPROMs and sold them. A lot had Lab Loaner labels, and some did not, but these are all from the same source. IN fact, he sold some Jaguar development carts and an unreleased Frogger N64 demo at the CGE last August, so unless he's faking protos and boards for every single system, they are very real. -
Yahoo Auctions Japan has been doing the "real" auction method for years that is being referred to in this posting.

*UPDATE * File false Payal claims - get free Atari games!
DreamTR replied to Pant Load's topic in Auction Central
This is nothing new. PayPal has sucked for a very long time, and it's VERY good for Buyers, but not for Sellers. -
CPUWiz: You know you like $1 bills coming each month for 5000 months =P supergamer: I am just talking relative terms. Someone buys an HDTV on credit. Suer, it's not smart to buy ANYTHING on credit, but who the heck is walking around with thousands of dollars and no credit cards ever? Very few people nowadays. I hope the NWC reaches crazy levels, but it's hard to say who will have the bucks for something like that.
