  1. Finally checked the game, it says Imagination is better than power instead of There is no Knowledge that is not Power... And...there is NO graveyard stage= (
  2. onmode: The Caplet is 16-bit in terms of the graphical capabilities of the system. The Space Invaders is based off of Space Invaders II, the Bust-A-Move game can not be done on 8-bit, it's based off the Neo Geo arcade game, and the other games all have much brighter colors and better sound effects than the Tablet games, hence the 16-bit moniker. Space Invaders was merely the "headliner" title for the system over the other two licensed games. The Caplet has a slightly bigger screen than Tablet, and both are shaped to be similar to a "pill" and "tablet" and "caplet", in the pharmaceutical sense. I have not really had any problems playing the Tablet when I hold it, but the Caplet is a much better value for the buck.
  3. jetset wrote: "Exactomundo. Ebay was not intended to be a full-time job for people who can't or won't get one. It's an online garage sale to get rid of crap and make a few bucks. " O RLY? Hrm, why does eBay sent propaganda to my house after being in the Powerseller program ENCOURAGING ME to sell as much as possible, as it IS a full time job essentially, and THEY UNDERSTAND THIS, having workshops set up regionally, and telephone reps calling and setting up meetings for free for Powersellers because they want to KEEP YOUR BUSINESS. Also, did you know you can qualify for some random medical benefits (pharmaceutical) from eBay as well if you are a Powerseller? In fact, the workshops ENCOURAGE the HANDLING fee for businesses. Gee jetset, I'm sure glad you know your stuff. Online garage sale? Not anymore. You must be living in the stone ages with the amount of major retailers and distributors selling new products on eBay. Full-time job for people that can't get a job or don't WANT a job? Wow, I did not know that listing and selling and taking pictures of items and all those eBay stores like iSOLD it don't want to get real jobs. When iSoldit charges me $8 shipping for an item I won on eBay and ships it for $2.65, they are IN THEIR right to do that. I decided to purchase it after reading their terms. Are people going to attack the iSoldits and SELL ON eBay Brick and Mortar stores because they charge handling fees too? You forget, this is a freaking capitalist economy we live in. If you want to really get down to the bottom of it, EVERYONE is making money on something. We all need to get to the source (China) and live in 4 bedroom houses in Shanghai for $40,000. Let's go and buy our toys we see in retail stores for the REAL PRODUCTION COST! (standard 19.99 products cost around $6 to make in China, sometimes less.) To complain about this now after you have a choice of what to do in the matter is probably the stupidest thing I have ever seen. "Selling on eBay full-time is for those that don't want to get a job, or can't find one", that's the biggest load of crap I've ever read. I don't even sell full-time and I am offended by it because you are just attacking someone's profession. By your point, ANYONE that buys and sells ANYTHING falls in this category, because eBay is essentially a medium utilized for people to do this. Nice.
  4. Mendon: PayPal can recover the ENTIRE amount if there is a discrepancy. eBay will charge you $25 to go through that process I believe. In this instance it really does not matter how much the item is because PayPal is who you deal with for something such as that. As for the Canada Air Mail Shipping issue I read about earlier, it may COST the same, but there is no inexpensive way to ship items to Canada WITH TRACKING. I have seen the Customs Form come up a few times on tracking, but that is very unreliable. You need registered mail, or UPS, or a tracking service. Basically a US Seller is not protected very well shipping Internationally to begin with, so I don't understand the cheap shipping argument there if there are so many scammers. Another thing I have seen people do is when someone on here is ripped off on shipping, I have seen people tell them to just file a claim with PayPal as if they did not RECEIVE the item because the seller failed to put any type of tracking on it. The scams are unbelievable. And I know this is another topic, but I see people on here selling repros/hacks of games that violate all copyright laws, and then get mad when a forum member buys one, and sells it on eBay, as if the person making the hack has the right to even complain after the copyright laws are being thrown out the window? CSly: If you want to start complaining about what is "right" from "wrong", then you need to re-evaluate the LAWS of certain things. From what I understand, THAT is illegal. Charging an extra handling fee on eBay is NOT. Just an example to get everyone thinking a bit, because I know there are people out there that thing hacks of existing games and selling them based on a licensed property even with no profit is legal, and complain about eBay sellers and an extra $2 shipping, what a paradox!
  5. Csly: I'm not putting words in your mouth, you are indirectly saying I am fleecing customers based on my eBay selling habits without even KNOWING what my prices are when I sell. You think me selling a game for $5 is fleecing according to your words. I NEVER said I inflated my shipping charges based on PayPal/eBay fees. I just stated my opinion that THEY are the reason why the shipping is $$$ on eBay, not us with their crazy fee handling. Take this into consideration, I have someone package up my items, and take them to the post office. I have to pay for the materials which include: tape, some boxes, bubble mailers, pens, etc. I have to pay for the person's services since I work full-time and have little time to get it done myself. I ship out either Priority Mail or First Class with D/C. On CD or DVD type items, as an example, AMAZON will give the seller back a $3.49 shipping credit which they state should go towards MEDIA MAIL, which you should know is around $1.59 or less. My postage on those particular items is around $2.40-2.50. Do you really think I am FLEECING anyone because I charge $5 and have to pay for someone to help, AND materials? Csly: Do you sell on eBay? I've been a Powerseller for awhile, and they don't make it easy to make a buck on certain items. As Phantom said before, if you can't realize that 0.99 + 5.00 is better than 3.99 + 3.00, then you need to not even bother with eBay yourself if you can't decipher the difference. We pay eBay enough money. I am not going to have them take even MORE money LOSING money on shipping just to appease you, AND give them a better Final Value Fee AND insertion fee. Why do you THINK eBay is cracking down on this? They don't base their fees off of our shipping. If I was charging too much money, then you can say anything, but unless you sell as much as we do, or even BUY a great deal on eBay, you have no basis for complaining. Answer is simple, don't buy from that person and move on to thr next one.
  6. Phantom: I completely backed you up. Check my posts. It's Christophero Sly that seems to have a problem. "Fleecing my customers?" For what, charging $5 to ship a boxed freaking game? I got in this argument once before. A bunch of people on THIS FORUM told me it is my JOB to pay for packing material and not include it as part of the "handling" charge when I send out items. Most of the people complaining buy less than 10 things off eBay in a year, and expect you to ship it and lose even more money after PayPal and eBay rape you in the process. If this is about "dishonesty", then you need to go right to the source, which is eBay/PayPal, not the sellers. We LIST how much the item is and it is the buyer's responsiblity to decide whether to purchase the item with the shipping cost. Also, I don't exactly have room for tons of bubble wrap and mailers, so when I was suggested once before to buy them in bulk, that's asinine. I have to get them at wholesale or retail in smaller increments, which costs more, and adds to the handling fees, but in NO WAY am I fleecing anyone for $5 shipping on boxed games by any means. CSly, you are way out of line for suggesting that. YOu need to hit up those eBay sellers that charge $25 for "drop shipping" and $10 for a freaking CD. Go after them, and not the people that go out of their way to try and sell items at a decent price. I have amazing prices when I sell my stuff. I sell em mostly at 0.99 and no reserve, or 9.99 on new games. This INCLUDES rarer Atari 2600 stuff as well when I have it. I don't try and sneak out overpriced items unless it is something completely out of the ordinary like a one-of-a-kind prototype or something, and even THEN my prices are still better than 99% of everyone else's.
  7. Not that it's any of my business, but what are the copyright laws for these licenses anyway, eh?
  8. Simple logic: Add the shipping and handling to the cost of the auction since it is posted so you know what you are paying beforehand. Also, a lot of businesses pay hourly wages to people packaging the thing and taking it the post office and all that. I am not getting in an argument about this because I did before once, and I noticed a lot of people selling here on the eBay forums charge just as much as I do for boxed games ($5 to ship one, combined shipping on others) and everyone was ok with their costs (and some were even higher with MANDATORY insurance) and quick to berate me on mine. In any event, about it being "dishonest", eBay and PayPal are pure eveil. They do not help you when you are burned on auctions that you purchase. I've lost a lot of money due to PayPal's negligence of trying to obtain the money back from people (even if they have bank account info, they won't go back to try and obtain it) eBay goes up one better. Sometimes they don't automatically give you insertion and final value fees back unless you specifically go into the options after you file a claim against another buyer and "request" it. We all know a lot of people will set a lower price with a higher value on shipping/handling to make up for the cost. There are a lot of people that would lose money on eBay if they did not make it back on shipping, it's plain and simple. I am not condoning those people that charge $10 a game to ship, but those that charge 0.99 (0.20 insertion) and $5 shipping kind of need to because if they charged 3.99 as a starting bid, it is highly unlikely it will sell in the first place. It's basic addition and subtraction here on shipping/handling to how much you have to pay in accordance to the product you want. If there is a morality issue about making sure eBay gets every cent they can, just ask any major seller that has to deal with eBay what they think of the necessary evil of selling products on that website, not counting the ultra competitive nature of people that have to deal with the same items from another seller. All I can say as a finality to this is ANY product you purchase off of a major retailer, home phone order, whatever, will have a set price that is sometimes higher than the overall shipping charge because they will base some of their profit on that. This has been going on forever, and eBay is no exception.
  9. crunchysuperman: That one had been up there for MONTHS. If it was boxed, I would have swiped it a long time ago.
  10. Shadow: It was not sold in stores. It was only available via mail order and via www.sega-parts.com You might be confusing it with the regular CCE Edition, since the spine is the same.
  11. I think I am going now as of today!
  12. I have it, but I went through hell to get it. It was the last game to complete my North American Saturn Collection.
  13. Speaking of NWC Gold, I've got one for sale if anyone wants it, 12K (not mine) but it's going to be auctioned near X-MAS if anyone cares.
  14. All Dragon Warrior protos are FINALLY GONE!
  15. Hounder: I think there is only one still.
  16. This event was awesome, thanks to shertz for hosting it and making it a pleasat experience with all his hard work and dedication!
  17. madhatter: What kind of protos do you want? I have over 600 cartridge based ones, and could sell a few at the right prices if interested.
  18. I'm referring to most of Shadow's post. There aren't really any Tengen toughies except for Tengen Tetris, but R10????? Also, the Official Frogger can be had if you know the right people. "Most Nintendo titles can be had for $10 up to the Game Cube--usually less. Many Atari titles will cost you $30 or higher," especially if you consider the 5200 and the couple of non homebrew 7800 titles that fetch the bucks. I've not seen a 2600 or 7800 title top the price of the gold NES Championship cart, though. I watched one of those go for $15,000 on ebay. Some folks, I guess, have more dollars than sense. IIRC, three of the rarest NES titles are Tengen--two R6's and an R10. That indicates that NES titles aren't necessarily rare. Rarity tend to vary from system to system, too. Tengen's R6 titles show up a lot more than stuff like The Official Frogger.
