  1. Andrew Davie: No need to be insulting, but unbeknownst to you for some reason, stores have hidden costs to up the ante on many things, including rent, storage, other overhead costs, etc. This IS included in their increased cost that they add on to the consumer. Also, keep in mind I WAS MERELY STATING FACTORS FOR INCREASED SHIPPING. No need to jump on me for something, especially since my shipping/handling costs are VERY fair, and I was merely stating a point as to how impossible it is to make money sometimes off of eBay. Whether or not you increase the opening bid is not the point, the money is going to be made somewhere, but in order to keep the costs low, sellers will hype up the shipping. Also, as for your "time consumed" remark, as jabanes said, if I have someone go to the post office, mail my stuff, package my stuff, etc, I am well within my right to ask for that part as shipping and handling, not to mention all the boxes, supplies, and other stuff I have to buy for shipping purposes. If was charging $10 a game, then of course you could complain, but $5? Please. Oh yeah, AND I combine shipping rates too. I'm not like other sellers with FLAT rates for each game, which I understand as well, but you definitely should not be jumping on me for any of this.
  2. eBay ended three of my auctions because I accidentally left the higher shipping charge from a bulky item ($15) instead of how much I normally charge ($5 for most CD/DVD style games) . Now, for those of you COMPLAINING about the shipping/handling charges on ANYTHING, especially $5 for something.....let me beat a dead horse once again about something I've explained before, but for some reason, a lot of Atari collectors become irate if you charge $5 to ship a cart. 1. Bubble Mailer cost. These range from .59 to .79 for the 0 and 2 size at Staples. You can get them in BULK cheaper from other companies, but after shipping charges are added, and if you don't have the room to store 200-300 mailers at a time, what's the use? 2. Gas to and from post office. It's expensive to drive these days. If you have to drop off packages, wait in line to drop off INTL packages, etc. This can be very time consuming. Yes, you can arrange to have USPS come pick up your items, but if you are working full time, and you have a lot of high end items with Delivery Confirmation, I would think you'd rather drop them off right in FRONT of a postal employee at the counter. 3. eBay/PayPal listing/final value/other fees I'll probably be chastised for this one, but you HAVE to make up for the incessant charges eBay takes from three sets of fees. It's almost IMPOSSIBLE to make money on eBay unless you A) Have a crazy product everyone wants and you have a large quantity of them, and got them cheap, or B) Charge a higher shipping amount to make up for the loss of sale on your items. 4. TIME CONSUMED doing all this If you have someone helping you package up, box up, go to Staples and pick up things, or even do it yourself, this takes time, and your time is valuable. To be honest, $5 shipping basically covers all the fees for one game if you really look at it. If you tried sending out something for actual cost of shipping without factoring in anything, you actually LOSE money all the time, and then it's one big waste of time. Just some thoughts I put together, I've been ebaying for 8 years, and it seems like the only people that complain about shipping to me are classic game collectors (anything 1985 and under, not Neo-Classic), or Canadian eBayers who don't realize that there is no cheap method to ship with tracking unless you register the package. Everyone takes a risk with AIR MAIL to any INTL country.
  3. MAS will still make those for you. You can get some crazy MAS stuff that no one has, just contact them and ask them. You might need parts for some stuff, though.
  4. I'm upping my offer on the box to $250.
  5. Great dealing with CPUWIZ! Everyone else I have dealt with has asked to remain confidential, so unless they message me, that's all for now!
  6. There are three that I can think of near me, some have boxed, a lot have loose carts.... Game Dude, Game World Exchange, and A & J Games. I think a couple of others like Game Play on Venice have some, and I know for a fact an old store called Treasure Island in Venice had THOUSANDS of games, boxed and loose, for every classic system ever. The guy had been in business for 20 years, and he NEVER changed his pricing, and the place was a sty. I have his cell number, but he lags on calling me, and I know he's got some rare stuff there, it's pretty sickening.
  7. Updated again, still need these guys!
  8. There is no way that person owns two houses in those cities at 750K. They would have to be mansions because the real estate market is CHEAP in those two cities.....
  9. MattG: I'm STILL looking for 3 Game Boy boxes, Felix The Cat, Pugsley's Scavenger Hunt, and Captain America....= (
  10. I started collecting Atari 2600 games this year just to see how difficult it was to obtain them.....I am ONLY collecting boxed games with a few exceptions (Tooth Protectors, Eli's Ladder, etc) If you have been in the collecting community for any particular time, you probably know I have complete collections of NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy Color, Dreamcast, Neo Geo, 3DO, N64, Sega Master System, Jaguar, around 600 cartridge prototypes for many systems, 40 of them unreleased, and many many others..... As of 4 months ago, I have been able to acquire almost every boxed game for the 2600 released in the USA sans around 30 or so titles as of today. I'm not rich by any stretch of the imagination, I have to buy/sell stuff to make the money to acquire all of these games, but I can say that I respect collecting Atari 2600 boxed games, but it's not as difficult as boxed Game Boy or Game Gear. The value for the latter two is not there yet, but they are MUCH harder to find than some boxed 2600 stuff, which baffles me to no end.
  11. WOnder007: It's too bad you aren't a NIntendo collector...there's a couple of items for the NES over 5K....
  12. Some things are still left, including Air raiders.
  13. Hey there, I've done some wheeling and dealing with many of you already. I just won this auction and plan to sell EVERYTHING in it at FAIR pricing to first come first served buyers.... The ONLY game not available will be the Omega Race. Please PM me or AIM me as DreamTR if you are interested in any of the games listed in this auction. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 If I don't hear anything back, I will eBay them, or list individual pricing.
  14. Stadium Events is not just a label variation, there is a difference at the title screen. It is not a bizarro version of the Power Pad. Nintendo picked up the license from Bandai for the US Market, and Stadium Events was pulled and subsequently renamed. The Family Fun Fitness remained the same in Europe, and the Family Trainer was the equivalent in Japan. The box is very, very difficult to locate. The only differences from the PAL to NTSC one (front of box) are the seal of quality logo, and the letter that appears on the bottom right. The PAL one will work on a top loading NES just fine, (cart alone for NTSC is around $500 now), so you are looking at something needed to complete a licensed NES collection...
  15. He is not a Nintendo collector. Imagine finding a Mickey Mantle rookie card in the wild, and you are not a baseball card collector....you'd sell it too. ON a side note, a website claimed that Zelda III was NOT a prototype, which it was, and then I got into an argument with the webmaster of the site who claimed my Zelda I proto for NES was fake, and that he will ruin my career, ban me from his website, and laugh with Miyamoto about it, and he is dead serious , lol! All I was doing was defending the eBay guy for finding a real prototype of it which he insisted could "not" be real. Bruce: This demo/prototype definition is really vague. I've seen them give to magazines both ways, with or without labels. It's the inside that counts the most.
  16. I still need CIB Title Match and Tank Command, $125 bounty for TM, and $190 for TC.
  17. Godzilla: I think people that "hoard" would be more apt to "share" if they were compensated. It's not everyone's right to play it for free you know, devaluing the game... Virtua Hamster is different because there are more than 10 available.
  18. Whoops, old post, buyatari already answered.

    Quadrun box

Quadrun has been low for awhile... Mayhem, about Springer, I HAVE to have the box...there is no other way I would purchase it...
  20. DreamTR

    Quadrun box

Yeah, I just bought a box and manual for $675...that is more of a fair price. Look at it this way, loose cart, $250, complete version, $1000. Mayhem: I'd buy the Springer box from you for $100 =P
  21. Thomas: I don't see how that's possible. I never stated anything in that brief sentence geared towards ANY members. It is pretty clear on my end, but I guess I need to be even clearer next time =)
  22. THomas: you misinterpreted. I said this is a "US" forum meaning it is BASED in the USA. Why would you think I would discriminate against collectors from all over the world? Check my past posts. All I said was that there should be separate sections for NTSC North American releases and everything else....
