  1. here's the situation:

I bought 2 7800 consoles for parts/fixing. 1 is a little rough in appearance while the other looks like brand new. it even has the clear sticker over the silver part of the cover. neither units power up. I knew this when I bought them. what things could I check to see if I could get atleast the great looking one running?

also, they came with a nonworking power supply. are these fixable?

before you ask I tested them with the power supply from my working system and I got nothing.

any ideas would be great. thank you.

  2. I am in dire need of help here. I have gone completely insane in the last 2 - 3 weeks with my recent purchases (my 1st purchase was dated 2-14). to date I have bought the following items:

1 Colecovision console complete in box with 28 carts

1 Coleco Atari adapter complete in box

1 Coleco Super Action Controllers complete in box

1 Coleco Roller Controller New in box

1 Atari 2600 Darth Vader System with 12 games

3 Atari 7800 systems with a total of 23 carts

2 7800 consoles for spare parts

2 different lots of Coleco games for a total of 30 carts

2 different Atari game lots for a total of 33 carts

14 Atari carts at a local trade center

2 Atari Track-Balls New in box

    9 7800 carts from mcgrail0007

plus around 25 or so other carts from various sources

good thing my tax return is coming soon :D

  3. I was just coming here to ask a similar question. I have a picture that comes in clear but then just gets kinda fuzzy. the atari adapter works flawlessly. if I wiggle to rf cable the pic quality comes and goes. I have tried different cables that I have lying around but it still does it. if I get it just right it will stay for awhile but then just goes again. I may be moving the unit during gamepplay though. does it sound like my rf plug could use a good cleaning or maybe I need a new cable? the only thing I can't understand is why this only does this with the coleco and not the atari since everything travels thru the same cable. any ideas?

  4. in the last few weeks I have bought a Darth Vader 2600, 3 7800s, and a Colecovision system with almost every attachment(need the driving controller) and some loose games. hell, I even bought a few 7800 consoles for parts. I'm looking at getting another 2600 too. I think I want to try and find another Coleco as a just in case backup also. what kind of collections do you guys/gals have?

  5. I was wondering if someone could tell me if any 1 cable is better than another. I see sellers on ebay that say they have different quality stuff so this has me wondering about it. I also want to replace my 7800 and colecovision cables too. I don't have the coleco yet so I'm not sure of the condition of the 1 that comes with it. can you use the same cable for both the 7800 and colecovision?

  6. this last weekend I went to our not so local trade center and they had some old atari stuff. they were smoking something really good when they priced the stuff that they had. they were selling Pac-Man for 8.00. nope this wasn't a brand new in the box copy either. it looked like the cart was wandering in the desert for a few years with no water and a little kid following close behind smacking it with a hammer. they also had a busted up 2600 jr. with nothing included for 60.00. this one looked like the kid actually caught it.
