hi all. I haven't been around in awhile. I have created the DC emus but I ended up just using my old pc and turned it into a sortof MAME machine. I have found quite a few of the older ROMS and think I'm going to just buy the MAME 0.83 roms soon. it has been alot of fun playing all these games that I haven't played in yrs. I also ended up buying an X-Arcade stick to go along with it.

I just got a 2 player model and was hoping I could add a spinner to it. I got a really good deal on it(*free*)
my wife bought it for me. I am not looking to this immediately but some time in the future. does anyone know how hard it would be to do this? also, what is the best overall spinner without paying a ton of $. I am currently looking at the spinner by slikstik. I see they are USB compatable but would it be possible to wire this into the controller somehow? any help on this would be great. thanks. -
I have been slowly finding the roms for games but I'm not having any luck with the snaps. is there a certain place I could look?

I just bought a Lynx II system and it appears to have some little dust/lint/fuzz specs under the plastic screen cover. it looks like someone tried to clean it and the rag they used wasn't lint free. I want to remove the cover and wipe it out or clean it however. how exactly do I do this?

what are some good controllers to use? are they any like the x-arcade that may be better? I would like to find one with a rollerball plus all the standard stuff.

I downloaded and installed it in a matter of minutes. thanks for the help. I am know going to try and find all the roms or send out some discs and have them burned.

great. thank you for the help. now another question: do all the roms have to have the same # or can I use some that are .81 and others that are say .74? I will probably just send some discs to someone for a complete set later but I have some roms on my pc now.

I want to download MAME32 but am unsure what files I need to download. I'm not talking about roms but the software that is needed to play them. could someone please help me out with this? I am going to use this on an XP machine.

I have the following items: an extra XP pc and a 36" tv. I was hoping to run MAME on my ps2 or x-box but it just seems out of my reach. would it be possible to just use the pc and the tv(my pc monitor is only 17") and buy any extras I need to have MAME on the bigscreen? what all would I need?
edit: the pc has 512MB ram with a AMD XP 2000(if I remember correctly) processor. it also has an Extra HD heatsink(aftermarket) for extra cooling. it also has a DVD drive(player only).

I am looking for just 1 rom. a working Space Invaders(the original). for some reason the version I have will not load onto the disc.

oops, I forgot to update this. I figured out how to do everything. I forgot to load the roms into the inducer file. no I'm on a hunt to find the roms for some other emulators I want to try.

I love the game K.C. Munchkin. it just sucks when you finally get up a few levels and he really starts to move and then you die and start over in slo-mo.
I also like the fact that the "dots" move. it makes it that much more entertaining.

I think it could have been an honest mistake and the seller may have not known. look at their feedback. over 900 and no negs. looks like they don't sell games much.

I am swaying toward the x-arcade since I can buy adapter for each console I have.

is the x-arcade a really good quality piece? I would rather pay more and get a nice heavy duty piece. also, have you ever tried it on the simpler games like pac-man and such? we love playing the classics so it would have to work with those.

Modern laptops using MAME

my Toshiba Satellite P25 17" widescreen laptop seems to play everything fine(atleast all the roms that I currently have anyway) for me without changing any settings. my resolution is 1440 x 900. I just open MAME, select a game and play it. the emus just center themselves on the screen.
