  1. The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is a numbered text label Indy 500.
  2. Am I the only one who's confused about how the controls might have worked? Did one player use both gloves/rods or did two players use one glove/rod each?
  3. Theory: The second Mario in the opening for Donkey Kong Junior is actually Jumpman.

I couldn't remember off the top of my head if he was directly referenced in DK Jr. as Mario for the first time.  Yes-- it's shown in the arcade version as the "Marios" pull DK up in the cage.  It reads: GET KEY FROM MARIO.  SAVE YOUR PAPA!

What I want to know is;  Is the game referring to both of them collectively as Mario, or is it only referring to one of them?

Of course they're both Marios, Mario Mario and Luigi Mario as referenced in the Super Mario Brothers movie. ;)

  4. If this was 1978, then the Star Wars Holiday Special would have began 5 minutes ago.

What do you get a wookiee for Christmas when he already owns a comb? It's pretty amazing that was Jon Bon Jovi singing on that record.

The first 5 or 10 minutes was just Wookiee family grunting, right? No spoken dialogue for what felt like hours, if I recall.

and we loved every minute of it!!!

  5. Waiting for the game that never comes...
  6. Alvin G. and Co did a few head-to-heads in the mid '90s that played similarly to Joust... They're quite rare though, so it's not a surprise that most people haven't heard of them.
  7. That's actually quite interesting. Thanks for that!
  8. So... how does it compare to Data East's JP table?
  9. Here's some more pictures; Serial: #49348 Expect a proper thread soon.
  10. A light one. It'll probably just be restenciling the missing kickplate and futureproofing the electronics.
  11. Update: The owner of the place came back to me unexpectedly and told me they were going out of business. They asked if I still wanted the machine and offered to do $600 if I could take it away asap. I took it.
  12. Amazing! It seriously looks like something that Gottlieb would have put out in the 80s.
  13. Don't know if this has already been posted but:
