  1. When games become chores in there own to beat they are not fun anymore even Nintendo's game like Super Smash Brothers Switch and Hyrule Warriors. Beating the story is as irreverent as beating one level. Why can't get game have only a handfull of unlocks and story mode instead of being over padded with unlockables , grinding, and too much work.

      Interesting take on it. I played Hyrule Warriors with my (then) 8 yr old daughter and we finished the story over a weekend. No grinding, no challenge really, just a lot of fun mashing through the story. But there are oodles of games out there with no unlockables and good ol' linear story modes. probably better to focus on those instead of getting a downer on games like those you mentioned.

      I guess a lot of people enjoy that sort of repetition, otherwise Smash wouldn't have sold nearly as well as it has. Personally I had my fill after about 10 hours of it. There's tons of good modern games out there that don't fall into that trap though.
