  1. I have a challenge for all classic video game bloggers, YouTubers and podcasters: stop referring to the Atari 2600's "technical limitations." It's a hoary old cliche -- people have been saying that literally since the first technically superior console (the Bally Astrocade?) came out. Instead, let's focus on its strengths: its controls weren't hard-wired in, its joysticks weren't stubby knobs, and a truly dedicated team of programmers could do things with it that were simply magical. This is a particular message for Willy at Arcade USA -- I love ya dude, but you say this in virtually every episode.

Huh, ok?  I typically dont try to trash on consoles and such.  All have their weakness's and strengths.  Dont think I trash the VCS on virtually every episode :P  Dont recall trashing it unless it was a InTariVisions episode which is part of the shtick for that series to trash on each other.  The are others who are far worse, but thanks for thinking of me and calling me out :P (And yes, I just saw this from October 2019, I dont spend much time on Atariage anymore :P)

  2. Would be nice to see more participation in the Arcade/MAME HSC. Leto27 routinely comes up with some relatively obscure but fun games. The current round is Bagman and Magic Sword: Heroic Fantasy.

I'd participate, if I had the time.

  3. I think I may just have to ask Mrs. Warlord for that new C64 Mini for Christmas.

Pac-Man excellent game, got me into VCS, never seen the arcade version, so a comparison is irrelevant to me

2600 Pac-Man didn't particularly bother me. I'm not sure I'd ever seen the arcade original when I played it for the first time, and even if someone had told me they were different, I don't think it would have mattered. We took it for granted in those days that home arcade ports wouldn't be identical to the originals; the question was whether they were good games in their own right. 2600 Pac-Man wasn't perfect, but it wasn't as bad as its reputation.

For people who _were_ addicted to the arcade version, the 2600 version was extremely meh, and it made you feel like it was time for a new console.
