  1. Is playing in black and white a strategic choice? I've noticed it's easier (at least on the eyes) to play some 2600 games in black and white.
  2. Game 1: 1,226. This has been a great season so far -- all games you can improve on continually with enough practice (I hate hitting a ceiling on a game).
  3. Not sure if I'm too late, but I'd like to suggest Colony 7 and second zoyous' vote for Joust and Mangia-Boy's request for Time Pilot.
  4. Fathom: 7 wonderful things with wings. Wha-ha-ha-ha-ha...
  5. 55,900. After this is over I look forward to seeing if I can get a better score when using smart bombs (I never use hyperspace in Stargate -- it's awkward and it's easier just to use the gate for the same purpose).
  6. 44,700. Am I breaking some kind of rule by using photos for screenshots? I've just noticed that my last Pac-Man score wasn't posted (that may have changed) and neither was my previous Stargate score. I've been having issues with my regular computer and I can't seem to set up my MAME snapshots folder, but this is only temporary. Or is it a problem with two Atari Warlords playing in the same contest (I'm AtariWarlord while the other fellow is Atari_Warlord)?
  7. Vocelli, please correct my Pac-Man score to 4,805 (#155 in the thread). Please don't mistake this for complaining -- you're doing a great job and there are a lot of participants to deal with this week.
  8. Btw, thanks to fakecortex for the vintage Pac-Man lore. I love the terminology used back then ("arcaders"). The advice is actually pretty solid too. 2600 PM is still a lot of fun as long you remember that it is emphatically NOT arcade Pac-Man at all and therefore beyond comparison. As long as I remind myself of that, the only problem I have with the game is the cheating collision detection (I'm pretty sure I've died on several occasions without actually touching a ghost).
  9. Might as well throw my hat into the ring here: Gyruss 46,150. Burger Time 19,200. Elevator Action: 5,550.
  10. Pengo 24,360. Maybe I'm not the best player in this competition, but I'll tell you this much: I earned the CRAP out of this score. If this actually was, say, 1982, I would have never ever had enough quarters to ever earn this modest score.
