  1. Muaha. It took me awhile to figure out a design how to make him giant. You may be first person to see him, no one else mentioned it, so good job! I assume you beat him?

  3. Nope I haven't owned an Atari since I was a kid. lol Needs one again and this time with a harmony cart. Yea there is only one boss, then the game is finished. I'm surprised I was able to fit in a boss at all considering how small the rom is. There has been lots of "sacrifice" for me during development. Can't have it all I have learned Haha this is exactly why it makes me anxious, things like that exist on real hardware, but not when I use stella.

Makes me happy someone out in the world thinks that lol Yeah music would be cool in the background, as of right now the game is 16k, and there isn't any space left to add music during gameplay. BUT, if I decide to bump it up to 32 (really not sure) I will try to add music during game play. I'd like to have it on physical cart, but it makes me anxious, because I haven't even tested anything on real hardware yet.Still not sure what to do there, might have to cough up some money to buy everything I need for testing ahah. (money is tighttttt, TMI ) Indeed, the score does stop at 9990 points, The issue was, the score can be broken down into 3 sections (2 numbers each) so the lives had to take up the last two number values : / BUT once again, If I bump it up to 32k, I can add "LIFE blocks" up in the corner maybe? There is literally no wiggle room that I can see for me to reprogram anything unless I make it 32k. The struggle is real haha. The idea was, once you collect 9000 points/garbage, it means the streets are cleaned up enough, now it's time to find Dr. Junkhead and destroy him. SO, are you saying, I should remove "lives" because you wanna keep collecting items after the score reaches 9990?" I assumed people would be bored by that point honestly lollll That was a lengthy reply, sorry haha, Thanks for suggestions! If I decide to make it 32k I will consider the background music and relocating the lives for sure Be sure to write anytime, I love have suggestions in the back of my head. Really helps.

Now I wanna play Draconian, how did I miss that game on here? loll After watching your video, I realize most people do not turn on Phosphor in Stella, the jitter will stop during gameplay and also during videos if recorded. Perhaps I should state this at the very beginning of the topic hmmm.

  8. The thing on his back? That would be a health meter, when you collect bags or whatever, it will rise up until filled, and look less antenna haha It is suppose to resemble a garbage-can on his back.

  10. Game is done? Some final updates with sprites, and finally a Boss! I've rewrote the program over and over, I can't seem to get it any tighter or find more space. I tried my best! Bin can be found on First Post
  11. Boy do I suck at your game I keep getting further each time I play the new update, but slowly. In my cases I know why, it's because my brain doesn't wanna accept firebutton as jump and down to fire, That's just learning the controls with a stubborn brain, my problem not yours hehe Um, I wanna make a suggestion for you? perhaps offset the timing on one of the ghost when they come at you. It seems to me, the "hard game" problem is they are timed exactly the same, by the time you kill one , the other is on top of you or just about to kill you. Or maybe I just suck at the game and timing. (I hate leaving suggestions lol)

    Space Game

    Awesome update dude! Got a bit of time on dinner break to give it a spin. Free time is becoming rare I didn't have enough time to pick it apart to look for bugs for ya, maybe another day, just wanted to write to say it's looking good!
  13. I decided to play it for a bit when I shouldn't be hehe I love it, it does feel much smoother! I am also impressed by how much stuff you manage to fit, I would have figured scrolling would eat everything up. Took me a few tries to learn the game, but I like that about games, keeps you going back. I will give it a better play later, just couldn't resist haha I only detected one bug that I never noticed mentioned, I;m assuming you are aware, but will point it out in case, when you jump and then press down, a missile appears above your head? but thats a super easy bug to fix, not even worth worrying about until later. But yeah will try to get past the damn ghost tonight, wants to see what waits lol

  15. I have windows 10, and currently using build "548" not sure if that's older or newer, but haven't had a hitch since it's been installed. Perhaps try different versions? I tried to install a different one once and everything was broken lol
  16. I have an idea for you actually. I been tossing around the idea myself, I been thinkin about doing of an rpg type game after i'm done with trash. But I like sharing ideas. I was wondering "how the heck will you get text for speech" such as talking to a towns folk for info and missions. My idea was, use the score bar numbers! I'll briefly explain lol Say you walked up to a dude standing around or an item, when you collide with him or it, the score bar will change to a number. Let say when you go to him the score bar will say 000080 Now the thing is, the game would come with a book of text and convos. Those text are labeled with a number in the book. So then you would look to see what the number 80 meant, or what someone is saying. Then continue your adventure. SO ANYWAYS, my point is, say you are searching in a game, a number can still pop up on the score bar, then the player has to refer to their book of convos and details. lollll random idea, but I like it for a slow paced game.
  17. hahaha nah, i'd do the same thing probably. It sent me into a bit of panic mode, at first I was like, damn most of those are things I thought were fixed. Then I seen you ask about entering buildings and knew the issue. The game still has things to be worked out, but it's a lil more fair now? I think so anyway. I kind of see it as, if you go LEFT you are risking getting killed instant (not cool) bur going right gives you a second to prepare. (kinda like hard and easy mode, only problem going left "hard mode" really is not fair at all ) Thank for playing mate!

I never thought about the mere relation before, now I wanna hide him in a wall somewhere among the trash as an easter egg to find ;p Pretty sure that's illegal though lolll

  22. THAT is my only problem, I am wondering how much I need to relearn and rewrite if I decide to try different platforms later down the road. I'm sure i'll figure it out if I get a strong enough desire after this one I'm pretty sure I'll release an update for 2600 sometime the weekend; if free time continues to allow me. A near complete update I'm thinking, there isn't much left I can do. The game will be pretty short, which for me is the biggest down fall. But i'm ok with that as a first game. After that, I guess I need to work on the evil flickering lol Downfall #2 EDIT: if you wanna call it a flicker. I find it to be more jittery, it's not rolling either. It reminds me of when you put the drawscreen in an awkward place, everything looks like it's jumping or running cycles weirdly. I GET A FEELING that is the issue, because I am using two sprites sets (two drawscreens) so I might have stuck that command in awkwardly... you'd think I should know but I been building and not really looking back over the script for bugs YET *brain rambles*
