That just reminded me of a rhyme kids used to say when someone asked us what time it was: "Half past the cow's ass, quarter to its balls. Lift up its left leg and see Niagra Falls."
IMHO most animals have a very good perception of time and season - much better than the average human account them for, at least. Remember tiger sharks gather off shore when albatross fledgings start their first flights. Off-topic, but this reminds me of this:
