How does anyone know if it beats the alternative? You could be partying and hanging out with Philo, Josephus, Plato, Aristotle and Jesus in the afterlife!?! You could be a little baby again and drink from your mother. Or you could be a worm.

We don't have any way of knowing that we'll get to experience any of those things. If there is an afterlife, nobody there has found a credible way of letting us know it, and promises of an afterlife are worthless.

Being dead is exactly like what it was before you were born. Can you remember anything from that time?
