I placed a floppy I used in 1978 on top of the ipad the other day while I was imaging and archiving for posting to Asimov FTP. And pffftt! The disk no longer worked. All gone. Luckily it was one I just finished. New rule - no ipads nearby during archiving and preservation operations.

I believe it was the magnetic closure clip. A disk will actually stick to it in that area. And the ipad is small enough to hide under magazines or note papers or manuals.
