Why is the Mona Lisa such a butt-ass ugly painting and millions say it's beautiful? Don't get it..??

  It's all about the eyes really, they're what make the painting so unique. No matter what angle you view it from it appears that she is looking at you. The facial expression is also quite complex and difficult to draw one particular emotion from. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is an incredibly intricate painting for sure.
