Woah! What a wonderful show! I'm going to watch the first episode of Bits and Bytes right now over breakfast. =)

Watched all of them back in the day, and have done so a time or two since. In addition to other charms, the show always had an unwavering sense of optimism about the how computers might change our lives for the better. Contrast that with modern fears of privacy, predators, and security.

Throw in how "computing" has been perverted into monetizing every little damn thing you do. Ads, microtransactions, subscription software. Indeed. The computer was intended as an extension of the mind not as an extension into your wallet. Once big business figured out that, computing stopped evolving.
